"No, I don't, it really is huge. Even a lot of the students who come here are in awe of it's size. There's not much else like it around these parts, which is why it's so iconic, I guess. Although I imagine the cities like Moonfall and must have even larger buildings."

Mia hopped up onto the teacher's desk, perching herself on the edge. "So, a school for magic is your dream?" she asked with a smile. "I think that's a good dream. In fact, many people do dream of coming here, so I don't think it would be considered boring at all."

Mia looked around the classroom, too, wondering what it seemed like to Cassiel. To her it was just her classroom, one where magic happened, but still just a classroom like she'd come to expect. "Well," she began, "to start out, students take classes in each magical proficiency- abjuration, conjuration, divination, enchantment, evocation, herbology, illusion, necromancy, and transmutation. As time goes on, they narrow classes down to two or three they're best at and continue with those. We have theory classes, where they teach us uses for spells, how to create them, and what to do. Then there are practical classes where we actually use the spells, either on dummies, or, if they're harmless, each other."

Cocking her head to the side, Mia regarded her the man. "How were you taught, if you don't mind my asking?"

Cassiel couldn't help but smile and roll his eyes slightly. No, it certainly wasn't his dream. He never could imagine a setting like this. But it was still something new to be seen. His eyes followed the writing on the walls, and the posters hung up about classroom rules and magic rules. It was all so structured.

But as she began to list off topics, he seemed to perk up at herbology. Botany was one of his favorite pass times, and they had a class on plants! Now, he wanted to come for that! Maybe he could get a- wait... Necromancy? He visibly shuddered at word.

"You had me interested until you said necromancy." He said as he stood up, gesturing for her to sit at the desk. "If I'm understanding this right, the student sits at the desk while the teacher stands. So... let me teach you." He placed a palm on his chest before gesturing to her with the words.

Moving to the board, he picked up a piece of chalk and began to assault the board. He wrote the words 'Life as an Exorcisma' at the top before he began to speak. "I was born 20 years ago and since my birth, I was raised in my shrine by my parents. It's where my father was born and raised, his father before him. The shrines, as far as I can tell, are given to the sons of the family. But, I digress..." On the bored, he sketched the archway to his shrine, and below it drew the birthmark that was upon his neck. An arrow labeled it as 'birthmark' "This symbol, birthmark... whatever you want to call it, is my family sign. It's here on my neck and even in my eyes. I don't have pupils. On my father it's on his chest, but mother said I wasn't allowed to see where hers was, and to this day she still won't tell me. In all honesty I think I'm old enough to know if it's on her a** or somewhere else." He waved his hand as if the location really didn't matter to him.

"I've been raised at the shrine my whole life, as I've said. So that is where I learned magic. Both of my parents raised me and taught me the skills they possessed. Both though, are completely different teachers. " He kept writing little tid-bits of what he was saying upon the board. For the moment he wrote 'Life Magic' to the left and 'Death Magic' to the right. "My mother is kind hearted and soft spoken, and she taught me the ways of life magic. Simple things like restoring life to a crushed plant, or healing a wounded animal, or using the life around us to heal ourselves if we're hurt. I could have sworn I even seen her resurrect a dead animal once, but I was so young I could be mistaken." He paused, looking to the other words written on the board. "My father is a hard teacher... his concentration is death magic and I really think he wanted me to follow in his footsteps. However, I don't see the joy in it as he does. He's taught me how to bring something back from the dead under my control, but I've never actually performed the spell myself. Everything he's brought back followed his orders but I was warned I wouldn't have that control at first. I can't stomach the thought of killing something just to revive it to practice this technique. He also taught me how to steal a soul but I won't dare ever use it. On pain of death, I will not utter the words for that spell."

Now, in the middle of the words he wrote 'Spirit Magic' then turned to face his pupil. "This is where I am. I think it's a happy medium between the two. I see the life my mother showed me, and the death my father pointed out to me. Basically at my shrine I communicate with the dead spirits that wander there. My family is like, a crossing over point. I can access the gate to..." he trailed off, trying to think of the right word to call it. "I dunno, to whatever lies beyond after death."

He turned to face Mia, shrugging his shoulders slightly. "I chose to follow my heart and it took me spiritually. So I focused on that calm state and practice magic that I feel comfortable with. So I understand when you say you're not ready for the test you have to face, you do need to find what calls to you." It was his turn to sit down upon the desk, watching the girl with those golden opalescent eyes. But he smiled, cocking his head to the side slightly as he chirped, "Questions?"

Well it was certainly clear now which magic concentrations the exorcism like and disliked. Mia gave a small laugh as she followed Cassiel's gesture, hopping off the desk and proceeding to the smaller student one. "You are indeed correct," the girl replied with a smile at this sudden turn of events. At his next sentence, her smile grew and her eyes gleamed. This promised to be interesting.

As Cassiel began, Mia put elbows on the desk, resting her chin on them. It was part eagerness, part joke.
'He's taking this so seriously that it's funny,' the girl thought to herself, but listened to the first part, which he had already mentioned, raptly. When he got to the part about his mother, the girl put a hand over her mouth to stifle her laughter, even though Cassiel seemed completely unperturbed by it, which made his words all the more comical.

The girl let her head lean to the side slightly as he began to speak about her family. 'Life and Death magic.' The girl assumed Death Magic was something akin to necromancy, and Life Magic like healing magic, although it seemed like something was different about it. Sure enough, when Cassiel went on, the Death Magic was indeed much like necromancy, although she came to understand why Cassiel disliked the art, particularly needing to kill something in order to simply practice. It was not something she liked to contemplate, either.

Her eyes widened slightly when she heard he had the power to steal souls. Despite his kind personality, the exorcism certainly held great and deadly power. It was easy to forget that about many witches. Mia liked how strongly he held to his values, though, it was both admirable and a comforting check to that power.

She watched as wrote a new word and explained that his magic was a fusion of both. She nodded as he spoke, what he said about everything. He was a bit of a medium then. She had only one question, really, which she voiced.

"So the life magic and death magic...they seem like the necromancy and healing we learn here. The way you spoke of them, particularly the life magic, seemed different though. Are they indeed different? Because I don't think I've specifically heard anyone talk about using the life around them to heal before."

"Hmm, are they different?" He repeated the question while casually stroking his chin in thought. "Well, first off... I see things humans and majin cannot. Because I'm an exorcisma I can see the ghosts of the dead. Like that one over there." He made a simple gesture to the other side of the room.

"Not only can I see her, but I can talk to her... if she wasn't pretending to ignore me. But say, for example, you and I were to battle and I was hurt. I could use her energy to heal myself. Usually plants and animal spirits are more giving in that nature. Even as a ghost, human spirits have that stingy quality about them. So life magic from my point of view has a lot to do with death. Even in death, your spirit can give life." He shrugged again, moving over to the board once more to write on it. What he was writing though, was blocked for the time being by his height.

"I've only been able to use it that way for minor injuries; like a small cut or a broken bone. I doubt that I can fully restore myself if I were to be seriously injured. But in a sense it works the same way as your life magic. I believe you are trained to use your own energy. I'm simply taking energy from one thing to give it to another." Stepping away from the board revealed a stick figure of himself, pointed ears and all. The words 'Cassiel was here' written on the board next to it.

"Shall we move on?" He asked, raising his eyebrows with an excited gleam in his eyes. "I'd like to see more before it gets too late."

All right, Mia was officially impressed with this guy. Although when he gestured over to the corner, her head automatically whipped around, despite knowing that she wouldn't see anything. She laughed outright at his statement about her ignoring him. It seemed ghosts kept their personalities, too. She grew contemplative as he continued though. "Even in death, your spirit can give life." She smiled softly to herself. That was nice to know.

"Oh, I see. That makes sense now." She stood up as Cassiel stepped away to reveal his drawing. "Cute," the girl said, "and very mature to boot. The resemblance is striking. I like it."

"Of course!" the young mononoke chirped as she lead the way out of the classroom. She went down the entirety of the hallway which was full of classrooms, and stopped once to show Cassiel a practice room briefly. It looked like a classroom, just devoid of much furniture, and with some magical supplies and targets stowed away. After that, when the two came to the end of the hall way, Mia turned to the left and led them up a set of stairs.

The two emerged on the second floor, which seemed to have more windows than downstairs. As they passed a particularly large one, Mia paused.

"Ah, this is a beautiful view of some of the campus," the girl said, looking out at the courtyard and other buildings that were bathed in the late afternoon sunshine. "That's the courtyard we came through." The witching pointed to it as she spoke. "Over there are some of the greenhouses, although the rest are out of sight on the side," she continued as she pointed to the right of the courtyard they we're looking down at. "And over there," she pointed to the left this time, "is the complex people can go to train. There are some martial artists or other types of combat types here. They have a couple dojo rooms, and other areas for people to train or work out. Students who know they want to become Reapers or Ars Liliums often try to get a jump start on their physical work there."

Mia peered out the window, as if looking for something, before gesturing at a small building in front of the training complex, nestled near the corner where the front and left walls met, half hidden by a small grove of trees and a few plants and bushes. "That's a small dance studio, actually. Not as many people use it, but it's very nice. If I'm not here or the woods, that's where you'll probably find me," the mononoke finished.

Yes, he was a bit childish at times, but he enjoyed it. What better way to make people smile than to leave adorable drawings of yourself on a chalkboard? Whoever found it next would probably just erase it anyway. But Cassiel smiled at the girls amusement for his artistic rendition of himself.

The exorcisma's eyes widened as he came to the window, and in an almost child like manner he pressed his face to the glass as if to see through it better. "Woooooooow..." He had never seen such a sight before, and it was amazing to him! It was almost like a birds eye view of the campus, and he took a mental note of every building the girl pointed out to him. But when she pointed out the last one, a dance studio, it peeked his interest. "A dance studio? So, you can dance then? My mother once tried to teach me but it seems I have two left feet. It didn't go well for her toes." He said as he pulled himself away from the glass. With his sleeve he wiped away the face print he made, even the fog from his breath.

"I still wish I could enroll here. But, I would never come every day." He said with a small laugh, gesturing for Mia to continue on with the tour. "I'm already feeling a little bit of anxiety from being away from home so long. It's practically been a whole day... I do hope no one's tried to find the shrine." It's not like they'd be able to anyway; unless they were more powerful than he was. He sealed it away to hide it from sight and prevent anyone from entering his sacred area.

Mia looked back out the window at the grounds bathed in the late light of day, her eyes lighting on the studio as she smiled at Cassiel's reaction. She always had the same thought whenever she looked out that window. "Yes, I do. I grew up doing ballet as a child, but I stopped for a while when I was nine. I started again a couple years ago, and now I dance in various styles. Ballet, modern, and a few styles of ballroom or couple dancing. I've recently started to study more tribal and ancestral dances." The girl laughed at the image in her head of Cassiel dancing badly. She could definitely see dancing not being his forte.

"Well, should you ever want to try to learn again, or for some reason need a partner, I'd be happy to teach you," she said cheerfully. "There are many people who say anyone can dance, no matter what they may think." With one last look and a content sigh, Mia turned away from the window and led on.

"Well, the it is getting on in the day," the young mononoke said. "Perhaps I'll just show you one more place, then, if you need to be going?" she questioned as she walked past various assorted rooms, offices, and reading nooks, hoping her companion did not interpret that as her trying to make him leave. "What would happen if someone did find the shrine while you were away?" Mia queried. "Or even just happened to stumble into it without having knowledge of it?" She couldn't see Cassiel putting any deadly or harmful spells on the place as protection, but his magic seemed strong, so who knows if something could trigger bad reactions?

As the two continued along the hallway, Mia quickly pointed out the various halls and reading rooms, all of which held an assortment of cushions, pillows, couches, chairs, and tables, some with large, bright windows and others with fireplaces that were for now unlit. They soon came to the center of the hallway, where the large, grand, central staircase continued on from the floor below. With a smile Mia led the up to the next floor, and she emerged with her companion in front of a set of huge, mighty oaken doors.

"Here we are!" she sing-songed with a mischievous grin at Cassiel.

Cassiel followed the girl through the school. Everything was still amazing to him! But when those large wooden doors opened to reveal the library his jaw dropped. He had never seen so many books in one place! Rows and rows of books reached from the floor to the ceiling, each shelf stuffed with pages full of knowledge. He could get lost in these books for hours!

"Wow, Mia... I have to admit it. I'm jealous. I wish I had a library like this at my disposal." He stepped into the overwhelming room, going to a bookshelf. Gently his slender fingers slid across the bookbindings as he read the titles over. So many books on magic, so little time!

"Mia, you might have to drag me out of here kicking and screaming..." He laughed lightly, looking over at the girl as he smiled. He was more than delighted with where they had gone. "Thank you Mia, for this eye opening tour. I never knew this place was so amazing. I will have to return one day and see if I can study in the library or the green house you mentioned. I'd love another chance to expand my knowledge, even share mine with others... Maybe I should look into teaching." He seemed to think that over, then shook his head with a laugh. "I'd probably skip my class more than my students! I've told you how I'm a bit of a hermit." He laughed at himself, looking back to the books with curious eyes. "I should probably think about leaving soon. I don't want to be mauled with questions by any other student that happens to see me. I may never get home then."

Mia beamed as Cassiel complimented the library. "I have to admit, it's one my favorite places in the Academy. I wish I could have even a quarter of this library in my own home someday." The girl laughed outright at his comment, hushing herself as she remembered where the two were. "It's okay, I'm stronger than I look. And see, this is why I specifically didn't bring you to the greenhouses, I imagine that would have been even more difficult."

Mia gave Cassiel a genuine smile as he thanked her, eyes sparkling gently. She loved that he was so astounded by her little tour. "Oh, definitely come back, please!" she responded. "Ha, you probably would. Maybe you could come in as a guest teacher, or something," the mononoke said after thinking a minute. "I'm sure you could teach us things our professors couldn't. I'm sure the administration would go for something like that."

Mia waited for a moment as Cassiel once again looked longingly at the books. "All right then, let's get out of here before you're tempted to steal some of those," Mia laughed. She led the way out of the library and down the stairs, then took the main set of stairs down to the first floor, ending up downstairs in the entrance hall much faster than the time it had taken her to lead Cassiel upstairs. "I definitely hope you come back to visit, Cassiel," Mia said as she opened the door leading into the courtyard and shielded her eyes from the setting sun. "I hope your shrine is as you left it. It was nice to meet you," the girl finished with a smile.

Cassiel followed the girl, looking back into the library once more. Yes, he would have to come back and see about borrowing some books. Hopefully the librarian would allow him to borrow things for undisclosed amount of times. But as they descended the stairs, Cassiel came to a stop and gently reached out for Mia's arm. He normally didn't touch people, but he could make an exception today. "Mia, thank you for today. Really. You've opened my eyes to so many things I've misunderstood in the world." His hand was gentle on her arm, releasing her should she jerk away. All he wanted was her upmost attention.

"I enjoyed your company today and I would like to repay you. Please come visit me at my shrine some time. It lies to the east of the school. I'll know if you come looking and I'll come find you." He muttered, pulling away slightly with a smile. "I'm sure you're tired of me, so I won't insist for tonight. But I hope to see you soon." The tall man flashed the girl a smile before he started off, walking down the main steps of the school. Today had gone well. He got the things he wanted in town, saw things he never imagined possible, and made a new friend. All in all, the day was quite productive. He was so happy as he exited the city he almost put a skip to his step! But that would have been silly, and Cassiel just mentally skipped home.
