BanefulBekkah I am going to be having my first Yuletide ritual this year, and I would just like some tips for what herbs/ inscence should be burned, food prepared,,and other spells and things are usually cast in honor of the day/ season. I've honestly never been fond of Yule, it reminds me too much of what the Christians did to twist the original pagan holiday. Yule is a holiday mainly founded upon the winter solstice and the worship of evergreen trees(thus where the Christmas tree came from) so I'd say pine incense and using herbs from evergreens, like pine cones, pine needs etc. I'll look some spells and rite up in some of my books. I can even send you some recipes for different cakes that have been used in many rites. Its best to have food that have sugar to replenish any energies you spend during rites. And remember to always ground yourself after a circle, else your piking energy becomes a beacon to other-worldlies... like fey, which is not fun, I know from experience, they are crazy.
Off topic, but: Never mess with a fey for any reason, pretend they aren't there. Seriously, solstices are often times when the 'veil between' is thinnest, so fey are common during these times, never leave honey, milk or sugery snacks out, it attracts them. That's why leaving milk and cookies out for santa is a terrible idea... just saying!
