The sound of an explosion rocked through the air and alerted the reptilian to something being wrong--obviously that was the only conclusion she COULD jump to seeing as how the last time anything went "boom" around Noire that she knew of was when the troll of a chef hadn't been watching one of the propane tanks they'd acquired...needless to say she and Eli had been in deep s**t that day. Vermilion optics automatically darted towards the direction of the sound on reflex, but before any movement was made from the reptile-like female, Ace had already took off to investigate. Instead of following after him, she quickly walked over to the fallen Mr. Twist and crouched down next to him. "You don't look like you'd fare too well on your own, but I can't jussst ssstick around here and baby-sssit. Ssso could you do me a favor and find sssomewhere to hide or sssomething?"
She didn't wait for an answer, instead, as much as she hated to have to do it, she lifted her foot behind her high enough to snap the heel off her shoe, repeating the same thing for the other so that she wouldn't sink into the ground, giving her better leverage as she, too, rushed off in the direction of the explosion. Goliath, however, stayed back, slithering up to Mr. Twist and sitting in indecision. He didn't want to leave his owner alone, however, she'd refuse him to come along for fear he'd be hurt.
Passing by the panicked troupe members that littered the walkway, Reivyn looked around quickly. The area that had been affected by whatever was used to cause the explosion earlier stood out like an open wound on the neatly, set-up tents, the smell of burnt fabric--among other things--assaulted the Romanian's nose, but she ignored it as her eyes widened at what she saw weaving through the many tents.
"...A chimera...? Why isss it out?" Of course no one answered, not that she expected them to. But that was okay, dealing with the beasts was a task that she'd become VERY accustomed to. Lifting her hand, she rested two fingers in between her lips and blew through the narrow opening, producing a loud, high-pitched whistle. And just as desired, the large creation's ears twitched and it's massive head turned in her direction, it's goat-like yellow eyes narrowing into a glare as soon as it set its gaze upon the tall woman. "That'sss right~ Let'ss play follow the leader~" Seeing as she was still getting used to her "new skin", she didn't want to push her luck, so tricking them back into their cages at a distance was all she dared to attempt.
Turning on her heel, Reivyn began running again, keeping her speed just above that of an average human's so that she didn't risk having the snarling beast behind her get distracted and run off after another troupe member. That would be regrettable, especially if it was a first-tier member--she really didn't feel like losing any siblings today. The thought made her grit her pointed teeth and narrow her eyes in disgust. Rounding a corner quickly--and almost losing her footing in the process since she was preoccupied with watching the chimera behind her--she looked up and noted, with great satisfaction, that an open cage was just a little further down her path, but her gate had slowed in the slightest. It was just enough, though, to allow the chimera to catch up, it's head stretching out as it pounded against the ground on all fours.
It's jaws slammed shut on the large, silken extension of her costume, tearing it from her outfit as the chimera ripped its head to the side, jerking her off her feet in the process and throwing her to the side of the path she'd been running on. Reivyn twisted in the air so that she'd hit the ground with minimal damage, rolling once she'd made an impact of the cool earth and jumping to her feet quickly....only to see that one of her prized outfits was now in ruins.
The fabric was torn, and the pristine white of it was stained with dirt and grass.
"You....YOU RUINED IT!" Anger seeped from her form as she took a threatening step forward, hissing through her teeth as the rage racked her form. She couldn't just let that good for nothing falsified animal just go back in his cage now. No, that'd be far too kind of her and he NEEDED to be taught a lesson. The growl that had been building in the chimera's throat was silenced as the much smaller being flung herself at it, successfully tackling it to the ground with hidden strength (she couldn't just hit Ace head-on like this, after all, or any of the other troupe members for that matter, they'd break a bone if she wasn't careful with them). She didn't waste time, even if in the back of her head she realized that what she was about to do would cause her even more trouble later on, and struck at the fallen beast's throat with lightening speed, her mouth opening wide before slamming shut around the targeted area as it thrashed beneath her.
Blood leaked from between her teeth and she tasted so much of the coppery fluid that the complete satisfaction of her actions seemed to take over all her senses, if only for a brief moment. The wails began to quiet down as a gurgling took their place and the flailing limbs seemed to grow sluggish and went from pounding and kicking to listlessly dragging across the ground before stilling altogether. Unlocking her jaw, Reivyn stood up and let her tongue run over her lips, as she glanced down at her outfit again before growling in disgust. Now it was bloody, too.
"Thisss isss all Ace'sss fault."

Mr. Twist didn't know what to do. He didn't particularly care much for anyone in the circus. Sure, he'd exchanged words with a few of them, and they weren't bad people, but he'd never made a connection with them, and didn't consider any of them to be his friend. Would it really matter all that much if they burned? Of course it would matter.... Mr. Twist was an outsider. He was always a misfit everywhere he went, even in a troupe full of misfits. Was he to feel bad for bringing misfortune onto all of them? He didn't matter to them as much as they didn't matter to him. If he were hunted down and killed, no one would give him a second thought...he figured. Why should he risk his life for the likes of these people, even if it was likely his fault that they were in danger for a second time? Perhaps if I were to give myself up, the madness would end...for everyone.
When Mr. Twist looked up for a moment, Ace was gone. It was likely that he'd gone forth to investigate the explosion. Customary for the Ringmaster's secretary to do. The snake-charmer had said something about baby-sitting, before suggesting for Mr. Twist to hide. Strange. Her large, scaled friend had stayed behind, as if watching Mr. Twist for her while she ran off to investigate. Stranger still. They didn't care about his well-being. They had no reason to. No one had any reason to. What an odd woman... Mr. Twist had already resigned himself to death. There was no point in running or hiding anymore. If those people wanted him dead, then who was he to deny them?
A snarl came from behind him. Gutteral...fierce...a mixture of wolf, bear...and human? One of the larger chimeras was approaching, aided only by its sense of hearing as it approached Mr. Twist, ready to devour him whole. The smoke that began to cloud the area had dulled its sense of smell and sight. Mr. Twist was filled with fear, but his mind remained focused. Before the beast could approach any closer, the ventriloquist closed his eyes, and sent a shrill, female scream into the supply tent nearby, throwing his voice without so much as moving his mouth. The beast reared up onto its hind legs, and charged into the tent with full force, toppling the main beam, and sending the whole tent on top of itself.
"Run...we've got to run." Mr. Twist stood shakily with his cane. The tent wouldn't have killed the monster. It was only a matter of time before it ripped itself free. Terrified, Mr. Twist offered his hand to the snake. "C-coil yourself around my arm and cane. We haven't much time." his eyes remained locked on the fallen tent. Why am I doing all of this? Why must I help this creature? And.. why am I so afraid of death?
((summary: Mr. Twist's freaking out, being emo, and being terrified. Threw his voice to lead a wolf-bear-human-chimera to smash into a supply tent, then offered to help Goliath escape with him.))

◆☽◆ Mademoiselle Silencieux ◆☾◆ Silena focused on the papers on her desk, trying to sort through different bills and invoices and order forms while every once in a while commenting on the ever talkative voice in her head. Sil knew it was just in her mind, but at times she could have sworn she saw someone sitting on the corner of her desk. Every time she glanced up to see the vision that normally stayed in the corner of her eye, her antenna would twitch in frustration, as there would be nothing there. The woman sighed, finally setting her pen down and leaning back in her chair. “I am beginning to question if you are a figment of my own mind or a spirit that has taken enjoyment in toying with me.”
The voice gave a chuckle before responding.Well, either could be a very valid explanation, could they not?
The shape shifter shrugged in agreement, looking off a little. She still had a very staggering pile of paperwork on her desk, and there just wasn’t enough time in the day to go through it all. Her ears quickly perked up and fanned out slightly at a very distracting sound coming from outside of her tent. The woman froze. She knew exactly what that sound was. Sil was just shocked that it could be happening again.
She couldn’t move. It was just all too much for her. Finally she leaned forward against the desk, cupping her face in her hands, pleading and cursing under her breath. Relax, child. I can handle this little predicament.Sil was about to ask what the voice meant by that, but because she could, her world began to grow hazy and confusing. She felt her body deadweight for a moment before not being able to feel her body much at all. It was like she went to another place in her mind, separate from the world around her. In all honesty, she didn’t mind it much. The shape shifter’s body sat up again as slowly she began to shift back to her public disguise. The straight black hair, the small, curved stature, it was all the same as everyone was used to, except the color of her irises. Instead of their normal deep red hue, they were heterochromatic. One was a bright green, while the other contrasted with a keep violet. She pushed herself up from her seat, striding over to her wardrobe. There wasn’t time to change her clothes, but there was at least time to make the dress that hung on her body loosely a bit more presentable. Quickly the woman grabbed a belt, cinching it around her waist.
With that, she made her way out of her tent, inspecting the scenery before her. Chimeras and fire. This seemed to be a reoccurring theme with the chaos that brewed on the circus grounds. Instead of the panic that filled her those weeks ago, the shape shifter seemed very calm, almost confident as she stood at the entrance of her sleeping quarters.
“My lovely creatures, I bid you halt and gather!”
At her words, the peridot amulet around her neck illuminated slightly, and the lose chimeras (that Sin hadn’t disposed of in a rage) turned their attention towards their mistress’s direction. Almost like a scolded puppy dog, the pack of creatures made their way to the ringmaster and sat down around her. The woman could only smile, watching them obey her words without falter. “Veli!” She looked over, pleased to see the head chimera already by her side. “Fantastic.~ My magnificent pet, retrieve the people responsible for this horrible mess and bring them to me.” As she watched the chimera turn and run off, her smile turned into a rather sadistic, toothy grin. “I believe it is high time for a demonstration.”
◆✪◆ Aemilio Sartorius ◆✪◆ Aemilio could not help but give a sigh of relief as the twins left. As much of a kind and patient man as he was, there was something about the two of them that the unicorn could not stand. He was still absolutely amazed that the ringmaster even let them loose on the grounds anymore. He was beginning to question the leadership skills of Icarus, friend or not. ”Something else are not exactly the words I would use to describe them, Senor.” Aemilio commented, sounding very uncharacteristically bitter.
With another sigh, he finally turned his attention to his coworker. ”But in any case, yes, I am alright, amigo.” The man gave a smile. ”Now what is it you wanted my help with?”
It was relieving to see Meldevello up on his feet. Aemilio had to wonder sometimes if the magician was the only competent person in the entire troupe. In any case, he was one of the only members that always seemed to have himself together, the past couple of weeks forgiving.

((Oh..my..god. I’m so sorry Aemilio’s post is so short and horrible. DX I promise the next one will be so much better! )) ((Not going to try to quote everyone in the area.;; Toooomanypeople.;; ))

Alexander paused. Where was Iyokou's tent again? His mind was occupied with the tracks of a few timelines. The twins burning down a tent. Then the very same two exploding a tent and releasing the chimeras in the stables. The same stables crumbling from the after effects of a battle between Magicians, Demon and Drunk. One of the Magicians in particular also came to mind. His rear end was groped. Alexander mouth opened a bit, as he questioned whether that was a hallucination or something that really did or at least would happen. God forbid it being a fantasy. With his mouth hanging wide open, he really did look stoned. But eventually pain reminded him reality was before him. His stomach twisted itself, reminding him of his hunger. Right. Food. Iyokou. Tent. Alexander knew where Iyokou's tent was. Or would be for a few more minutes.
He closed his mouth, running his tongue around in an attempt to get all the areas that dried. "I don't think we should go there, anymore." He finally said. As immediately after, the tent simply exploded. A cacophony of fire and gunpowder.
Out of the corner of his eyes, Alexander noticed one of the chimeras. He turned to watch it. It had the tail of a proud peacock, head of a small zebra, and body of a cheetah. For now, the tail was closed and dragged behind the creature. "Am I the only one who sees this?" He asked the two before shaking his head and walking towards the chimera. "Why am I even asking?" The animal lifted its head and watched at the blonde man slowly advancing, it's body frozen, waiting whether to run or to charge. Before it could make up its mind, its head turned towards some unknown direction and ran off. Alexander followed the chimera with his eyes. The Mademoiselle was over yonder, where all the chimeras aggregated. Strangely, she was calm and poised despite the events. Ah, the Mademoiselle was indeed over yonder. There was some one else there. She did look like the Mademoiselle, but Alexander quickly noticed something different. Of course, from his distance, he couldn't see the different eyes, but only the general figure of the shape shifter. It was the Mademoiselle's body. Just not her.
Alexander walked up to the imposter to view this different being closer. When he was close enough, without a single thought, he asked, "Who are you?" He wasn't expecting to take an even remotely aggressively stance. He was going to simply stand by and watch, but something bothered him. He didn't expect anyone else to notice. Alexander only seemed crazier than usual with that strange question. He could believe everything was just a hallucination, but this was the Mademoiselle. His heart began to beat a little faster. The Mademoiselle. Just where was she?

Safe from pain and truth And choice and other poison Devils… Reivyn had abandoned the fallen chimera, leaving it where it was for someone else to clean up—it wasn’t her fault to begin with, after all, she didn’t let it out, all she did was defend herself against it—as she began searching about for the rest of the beasts. And, in all honesty, one would think that finding something as out of place as beings made up of a multitude of different animals would be a lot easier. Turning a quick circle so that she could get a view of everything around her, she caught the sight of something massive and with patches of different types of fur heading off to her left, towards the edge of the tent congregation. Towards their leader’s tent—or, at least, that’s where she assumed they were heading, she’d been away for a while so for all she knew, some of the tents could have been changed around, but she doubted it. She sucked in a deep breath as she looked over the first chimera and noted that more and more were packing together and heading in the same direction. They wouldn’t be as stupid as to attack the Mademoiselle would they?
The feeling of soft fur brushed against her arm and she jolted from her thoughts, wine-colored optics quickly darting towards her side to see yet another one of the unfortunate animals idly passed by her, close enough to have taken the chance to attack, but it simply ignored her existence and continued forwards. Pulled back to reality fully, the scaled woman followed the beaten path towards their assumed destination, as well, in an attempt to make sure she was wrong. There were a lot of chimeras here and by herself, she didn’t know if she’d be able to work quick enough to take them all out if their intent was to harm the ringmistress.
Much to her relief, she didn’t seem to be the only one who had decided to head this way. Across the area that the chimeras had gathered in, she eyed the familiar blonde man that was so often seen with a bottle in hand. Before she could open her mouth to call out to him, however, he spoke first, questioning their leader’s identity. As if she hadn’t been confused enough by how she’d awoken to find things, now Alexander was making such accusations?
Pausing, she left a sigh slip before shaking her head. This was Alexander. He was probably just way too drunk to realize his words, right? Taking that as the most probable answer, she arched a brow, lips barely twitching into an amused smirk as she stared in his direction and she yelled for his attention. “Alex, darling, I think it may be time for you to consssider quitting drinking~ You’re beginning to forget who people ar—“ She blinked. Once. Twice. Three times.
From this distance it should have been hard for her to note, but for something so closely related to reptilian animals, she had exceptional eye-sight, so of course it wasn’t hard for her to notice, but…had the Mademoiselle’s eyes always been like that..?
Back with Mr. Twist, Goliath coiled around the man's body, careful not to squeeze too tightly, trying hard to adjust into a comfortable position for Mr. Twist to move and him to sit safely without causing any complications. A hard task, he noted, when the person carrying you wasn't capable of lifting things ten times heavier than themselves. That and....well, to be honest, he really was at a loss with how this person was a male. The large snake had never noticed before, but now that he thought about it, he liked being able to rest his head upon large breasts.... …See, they don’t give a ******** about you Like I do…just….stay with me, safe and ignorant~

The instant the snake began to file its large scaled body around Mr. Twist, he knew he'd made a large miscalculation. This thing wasn't just huge, but it was heavy too. He'd topple over if he weren't careful...and that would not end well for anyone. Carefully, he held tight to his cane, at least glad that the snake hadn't decided to rub up against his neck. There was a saving grace in that.
With careful steps, he started to walk briskly in the opposite direction of the explosion. Though he doubted she had said it out of concern, Mr. Twist was sure that the snake charmer's suggestion was a good one. Hiding, or getting as far from the havoc as possible was all he could do. The chore was the walking itself, with so much extra weight suddenly gained in the form of a reptillian hitch-hiker. His pain let out an audible crack as he stepped somewhat improperly. Even so, he was gaining ground quickly enough. The circus gates were his goal. If he could at least reach that, then there was a chance to either run away, or still be within the circus at a safe distance.
The explosion was fresh in his mind. His hands quivered with remembrance, yet another memory that gave him the chills. It was not the worst he'd experienced. The sight of a rapid decent to the floor in his old estate in Germany was probably one he'd never forget... next to discovering the lifeless corpse of his father at such a tender age. Yet... he was somehow sure that the majority of the people a this circus had seen, or been part of much worse. He hadn't asked them, but he was positive that so much was true. When one sees the listess, empty stare in one's own eyes every morning, one finds it easy to spot the very same within the most cheery of people.
The gates of the Cirque du Noire loamed ahead, looking more foreboading than inviting, due to the circumstances. Mr. Twist's legs grew weary, even for such a distance, and his eyes focused on the snake. "We should be a....safe distance from the commotion. Do as you wish from here. I must rest." he told Goliath. His back felt like several blades had been stabbed into it in choice locations. What I wouldn't give for a massage...

Meldellevo gave a quick smile at the unicorn's unhappy tone and shook his head. "I really wasn't planning on bothering you. It just looked like you could use some intervention." He gestured vaguely at where Tapeworm and Parasite had been.
"However, now that I have your attention, we may as well stroll while you catch me up with what has been happening in the circus this past while," he said, fixing his jacket and adjusting his grip on the leash. "My apologies for being so embarrassingly incapacitated. I swear, my spells of fatigue are growing longer as I age."
He turned, gripping the elbow of the unicorn man loosely, and began to walk towards the tent entrance. "We can start, perhaps, with why those two rascals are still here, and lead to some more pressing questions: where is Ringmaster Icarus? And how has Noire been faring after that fiasco?"

Parasite She couldn't help but pace in front of the Big Top, waiting for Tapeworm. It was odd for him to be late, her was never late. But there Parasite was, waiting and wondering. It wasn't long before she was scratching at her wrists, a nervous tick she had never grown out of. Where was he? Where was her brother? If he didn't appear soon Parasite would have to go looking for him. Neither of them tended to do very well without the other. There was only so much time they were willing to spend apart before they got twitchy. As she kept her eyes trained towards where her brother's explosion had come from, she waited for her brother to appear. Yet, in the back of her head where she could heat the light thrumming that connected them, she somehow knew he wasn't coming. But she wasn't going to move. She couldn't move. Tapeworm had told her to come here and stay there until further instructions. Parasite stood there, staring towards the flames and unheedful of the scratches on her wrists beginning to bleed. Tapeworm Tapeworm stared at Ace blankly. Really, to be caught so close to the end. Tapeworm was disappointed in himself. It was an amateur mistake made by someone like Parasite, not himself. However, he supposed he couldn't blame himself. After all, they were the same person. "Is it so wrong to go to a circus for a little fun?" Tapeworm shrugged and just hoped Ace had sent the little flying rabbit out on an errand. If that little pest somehow managed to hurt Parasite… Well, he'd be very unhappy. And an unhappy Tapeworm led to things being destroyed and people killed. "Where is Parasite? Tapeworm left her at home. He didn't want her new dress to get dirty." Lie and then keep on lying. Hopefully that would keep Parasite safe enough at the Big Top before he managed to get there. Leaving that girl on her own is asking for trouble.

“Mwee?” Bee stop midway between Ace’s and Big Top’s location and observed the chimeras gathering around near the front of Mademoiselle’s tent. Curious, Bee stopped what it was doing and followed the pack of chimeras to its destination. Once it arrives to area, Bee landed on top of Sil’s sleeping tent and looked down on the whole situation.
Ace was taken aback a bit when he heard Tapeworm answering his question with another question. He quickly realizes that the man wasn’t someone he should be messing with, since his second question he didn’t get to finish was yet again, answered with another questionable reasoning. Ace decided to just give Tapeworm a blank expression before turning around with a hand on Tapeworm’s arm so he can take him to someone who supposes to take care of trespassers. Since this is a special case, his best bet is to report to Sil first.
Bee’s ears perked up in amazement, it never seen so many chimeras surrounding Ringmaster Sil out in the open before. Looking at the other two members, its ears tilt to a side as it becomes confused with their faces (well, everyone’s faces too). Sil seems to be hearty this time around, while the other two members of Noire agape. Are they somehow being controlled by Sil as well? Frightened, Bee quickly flew away, about to go back to its owner but stopped in the last second. It turns around and head toward the Big Top, just remembering what its orders were. It was to find the missing twin sister.
The magician notices the chimeras heading toward Sil’s tent, so he quickly drags Tapeworm along. Once he got near the area, he notices Alex and Sil’s back, both of them were facing what’s in front of them. Ace skims the large pack of chimeras of various figures and colors standing/sitting before them all, trying to figure out what it is that is going on. Unsure whether he was supposed to be relieved or not (since it looks like the chimeras are somehow taken care of), Ace wondered just who it was that tamed them so easily. Could it be…? Ace stepped to a side and noticed the devious smile on Ringmaster’s face from behind. …Odd… Something about Sil’s smile bothers him, but he doesn’t know what it is. It’s giving him second thoughts about bringing Tapeworm to her.

Mr. Twist sank to his lnees near the circus gates, and sat there alone for awhile. He couldn't move much from where he was, due to the excrutiating pain in his back that just seemed to increase every time he took a breath. Perhaps I've thrown it out. That's a distinct possibility. This will be troublesome. I shall need to rest for awhile after this... He glanced back in the direction of the explosion. Something in the back of his mind kept urging him to go forth, and try to help. It was crazy to even concider such a moronic, wreckless thing. What on earth could he do? He was a tall, lanky man, without enough strength to even lift his arms above his waist at the moment. His back was out, he was slow, and above all else, if his head were to be jostled in the slightest, it would come clean off!! Even so, this circus had become Mr. Twists's new home. If he had to leave it, he would surely miss it. Not the people, but the place itself. There weren't many places in the world that would accept someone like him. Someone with odd talents, and tendancies. To many, he was sure he was considered creepy by just appearance alone. I must resemble a member of the undead...
Heaving a heavy sigh, Mr. Twist placed one hand onto the ground below him, and one on his up-right cane. Using whatever strength was left in his legs, he stood, and began to hobble back toward the circus. The burning in his back flared with each step, but he dared not bend it for comfort. A sore back was a small price to pay to remain living. It took far too long for him to make it back to where he'd been before. Luckily, a lot of the chaos had settled down. There wasn't a single chimera in sight from where he stood, which gave him some form of comfort. The Ringmaster must have stepped forward to control the creatures... Mr. Twist walked a bit further.
He wandered until he came upon what was once the Big Top. It was then that he saw an unfamiliar girl standing by herself, scratching at her wrists. He didn't feel that it was his business to question why she was there, since she could easily have been a new member that joined the circus during the time he was away. However, Mr. Twist felt rather uneasy, just by standing near her. He approached quietly, eyes widening slightly when he noticed the blood coming from her wrists. "Pardon me....miss. May I ask why you're inflicting such damage to yourself?" he questioned in his quiet, whispery voice.
