With the Null Planet/Moon revealed I thought of some debuffs(or something else) that may be given to the Null and Crystal Fluffs or maybe some other mob.

These debuffs are not affected by willpower and/or cannot be taken away as long as the monster that debuffed is still alive.

1. Ring lock- 2-3 rings you have will be locked and cannot be used as long as the monster that debuffed you with it is still aggroing on you.

2. Buff deterioration - A debuff that's quite instant. It lowers the rage rank of your buffs or makes the buff disappear.

I forgot about the other one I thought of, but what are your comments on these debuffs, and do you have other ideas?

Wow, those debuffs sound like a pain in the butt. Just what debuffs should be! xD I think your ideas are really creative.
For ring lock, how would the 2-3 rings locked be decided? Possibly the last 2-3 like if you're dazed? ^_^ Although, it really depends on how those mobs fight, because some mobs and the way they aggro might interfere with the way it might work.
About buff deterioration, how would it be determined how much the rage rank would drop? And would it affect only one person, or the whole crew? Oh mies, just imagine. After getting hit with the debuff, you'd have to r4 it all over every single time. e.o
But anyways, I love your ideas! They sound like challenging debuffs to deal with ^_^

I

Love

Both

But I wouldn't call either a debuff. Debuff implies they'll affect your "numbers", your stats. But, they don't seem CC related either. Well, the first one does sound CC... CC also includes ability locking... Oh well, whatever!

I would randomly lock 2 rings, not two planned ones. And not while aggroed, but while being attacked, obviously.

As for the deterioration, it has to be a relatively slow effect, for people to notice it happening, because checking buffs RR isn't quite fast right now, and I know people are incredibly resignant towards checking an entire list (even when each player should check only theirs. Can you trust them to?)

Don't forget the health regen debuff someone suggested. That seems important to launch their way.

Heck, why the ******** not:

>Ghi drain

We need more Ghi usage. You people didn't forget the spirit bomb ring yet, have you?

>Stamina Drain

The whole Gilroy suggestion exists for the stamina drain effects.

>Willp-

Nah, that's just stupid.

>Poweru-

Okay now I know I need to stop.

I love these ideas. biggrin There's only so many times animated can put you to sleep and root you before you start to wonder... can a wolf really root you? confused

And yeah, for bosses. it definitely should be something more obvious for extra groanage. Rings being locked, maybe your entire stam beign robbed? xd

I have an inkling that the current system for locking rings doesn't track individual slots, but the total number of rings locked - it simply counts that number of rings forward from the eighth slot. Considering that the only current use for ring-locking is after dazing, and that that implementation would be the most efficient for that use, I suspect they may simply have 'cut corners' to accomplish it.

That doesn't necessarily prevent them from adding a LockRingAtIndex function, but that would have to be included as a consideration.

If I were to implement something like that, I would have it be an active effect that simply reduces each of the target's buffs by 1 Rank, each time it hits (it would probably be Willpower-based, making it technically a CC effect). The thing about this one is, it really adds interesting considerations - is it worth it to replace one player's RR3 buffs with fresh RR4 versions? What about RR2 ones? RR1? And what if you know that player's buffs are just going to deteriorate all over again? What about the fact that this player is obviously drawing Aggro?

Thanks for the comments everyone. :3
I really was wondering if these should be called debuffs though since they function differently. x3

For the first one, the obvious choice would be to lock them from the last ring, since it seems to be how it functions while dazed or undazed. Although, if a random lock can be implemented that would be great.

For the second one, Kutai's suggestion would make it better. My thoughts though would that it'll simply affect the rage rank or make buffs disappear altogether.

Again, thanks for the comments and suggestions. :3
I'll try coming up with more and that one I forgot. Your ideas are welcomed as well.

My only issue is that rebuffing takes a long time, but is still quite necessary. think most people WOULD rebuff after each monster like this. It becomes a thing of pacing, that slowly drains the fun out of playing. That's preocupying at least.
I'm thinking maybe it reduces a non-specific buff by 1 rage rank each time it hits, and of course, it would be willpower related.

Aggro plays quite a nice role. Players already learned that on DMS, the target being away from the other players is the best course of action. And not to knockback monsters the wrong way. That's improvement. People are aware of field placement now. I got to wonder how much more crew panel awareness something like this would bring.
