If you haven't heard of Trans Siberian Orchestra by now I really feel sorry for you. They're a Heavy/Power Metal band similar to
Metallica (
Fade to Black) but with a Christian twist. These guys, The Trans Siberian Orchestra, are famous for their Ecstatic and energetic Christmas music including songs such as
Carol of the Bells and their version of the
Nutcracker, aptly named a Mad Russian's Christmas.
At their concerts they tell the story of a an angel who comes down on a town on the night of Christmas Eve and radically changes people's lives so not all of it is metal. In fact, there are some pretty mellow parts (
An Angel Came Down and
Old City Bar)but when the metal gets going you better have practiced your headbang.
They're on tour right now so check their
Tour Dates and don't miss their amazing concert. I've been to two of them. Amazed me and shook me to tears every time. And I loved the Lasers.
