Moake sighed, remembering when his cheetah was just a cub. It had been so easy to get what he wanted from him. All he had to do was teach him to run quickly in exchange for protection from the lions swarming his home land. For a little while, his plan worked perfectly... But then Kiume wandered too far from his post and met a female. Raposa would ruin everything if he just stood by and let the romance flourish. Kiume would forgive him for it eventually...
The rabbit's extra long hind legs made his slow-moving pace look rather awkward as he waddled towards the female's resting place. Perhaps there was something he could tell her that would frighten her from Kiume permanently. Something that wasn't necessarily a lie.. Though, his cheetah friend would be furious if he found out what his plans were.
"Ah, there you are, little lady." Moake wandered closer to the female, stopping at a safe distance. The rabbit hated approaching any carnivore without Kiume nearby. Regardless, he trusted his legs to carry him away should there be a problem. "I just wanted to stop by and see how you were doing."

Raposa looked up from where she had been resting her head on her paws, not really napping, but going over all the inventory of what has been put away already from the fesitval last night and what still needed cleaning and polishing, what could be left out for the vultures, and for the timid creatures that still were not to sure they would end up a meal, like the one who had just come to stand just out of paw reach before her.
The pretty little cheetah frowned at him, her ire at him rising, just as much as her sorrow at Kiume having not told her the truth to his situation had. She personally blamed the meal on legs in front of her.
" I doubt that," she said softly, " and if anything is little here, it is you."

The rabbit pretended to be hurt. "Ooh, someone's a sourpuss!" He laughed and extended his arms as if attempting to comfort her from a distance. "Look, I said I was sorry. I really am... I was just upset because I hadn't seen Kiume for a few days. You can understand, right?" One of Moake's paws rose to smooth the fur on his head as he pondered how to best phrase his attack. Hopefully he could leave Raposa without a scratch, and remove any desires she has to see him again.
"But you know... I probably did you a favor. Kiume is... ah... unique. He can hide it pretty well but... He has a few pieces missing up here." Moake pointed to his head with a tilted frown. "Just consider yourself lucky that you made it out of there before you were tied down to him."

Raposa looked at the little meal on blue toes and laughed at him, truly laughed at him, " Is that the best you could come up with you little cretin? That your self proclaimed best friend has a few screws loose?"
She snorted at the rabbit," You want to see a few screws loose, go visit with Fionn for awhile, NOW there is a animal that isn't operating with his brain firing all at once."
" You're problem is that you are a hateful, miserable, small, lonely animal and all you have is Kiume, and you can't stand it in that selfish withered up pea you call a heart that he may have, just just may have found someone other then you to care about." By now here usual gentle voice had grown into a low growl.
" And if he is stupid enough to listen to all the filth and ugliness that comes out of your buck tooth lying mouth, you wouldn't have saved me from him, but made him miss a chance at the best thing that ever walked past him on four paws."
Her hackles were raised and she had leaned forward just a little, considering her space now invaded.

"Whoa." The rabbit's tall ears instantly fell and flattened against his back at the sound of the spite in the cheetah's voice. "Whoa, chika, you got it all wrong."
His paws went up defensively and he took a step back from the angry predator. Maybe this was a bad idea. If he thought he knew the meaning of insane before, he'd rethink the definition after pissing off Raposa. The thick muscles in his legs tensed, ready to bolt just in case things got out of hand. At least he'd have a story to tell Kiume if she took a swipe at him. If he lived.
"Is this how you treat your guests? I'm really just trying to help you out, but you're too full of ... I don't know, envy? Rage? Well, whatever it is. You're not listening to me." Moake kept his paws up in an attempt to indicate his amity. "Put those claws away for a moment... My heart is not a withered up pea, I swear."
If the truth of the matter wouldn't sway her from seeing him again, he would just have to come up with some intricate lies. He was confident if it ever came to choosing, Ki would chose him. After all, they're practically brothers...

"Oh no, you see that is where you are mistaking you flea carrying fur bag, you're not my guest. You may be the clan's guest, but you're not mine. Kiume is my guest. Not you."
She flicked her tail back and forth, her green eyes narrowing, " Envy? Over something that should be a meal? Rage, doubtful. No my blue toed snack. What you are seeing is a female scorned. Because before you showed up, with your spiteful insults, which by the way made you instantly not a guest and I could have called a bouncer, which are mostly lions, to haul your happy, hoppy, footed a** out of here, Kiume was more then ready to stay for a bit."
She growled again, low and angry, " and do you know why you miserable long eared rat? Because he wanted to see if we could get to become friends enough to have cubs."

Moake took yet another step away from the cheetah. Every attempt to calm or pacify her had failed. He was irritated by the fear that gripped his throat and prevented him from speaking. This woman was really serious about Kiume. Of all women... why this one? Moake couldn't get a single word in until the cheetah was done lashing her tongue.
"Cubs?" He choked on the word, stumbling backwards as a weakness came to his knees. Whether it was fear or shock, it was hard to tell. "Cubs? Why would he want to do that with you?" It was mostly a question to himself, but it was loud enough for the cheetah to hear. "You're nothing special. If that's all he wanted..." Moake trailed off and glanced at Raposa as he considered fleeing.
"Oh I get it." Moake curled his lips in a mild snarl of his own, turning sideways to make a quick escape easy. "He must be lying. There's no way he would want to sire children with a weak... emotional feline like you." The rabbit kept his glare on Raposa, certain his words would cut deep enough to send her fleeing... but if not, his happy, hoppy legs were more than ready to carry him away.

Raposa laughed again, only this time is was a wicked little laugh, the type that made you feel like you were caught in a snare, " Nothing special hummm," she eyed the rabbit with her jewel cut gaze, " if I was nothing special as you so elegantly, and gallantly put it, why then did he have to leave your Pride to find some one he wanted to even ask?"
She tilted her head to one side, a snarl lifting one side of her lip, showing one long gleaming fang, " Do not take my sorrow at seeing Kiume go as being emotional, nor the fact that I despise you, you talking meal. They are normal reactions to seeing some one I could have truly come to like being lost to me, and toward the beastly little idiot doing the damage. No what I would count as emotional would be you."
Raposa clawed the ground with one paw idly, " Having to come all this way to find me in my den, to tell me about how you were going to save my pretty little tail from a fate worse then death because the feline you call your best friend, which I think is a lie, is crazy and I should count myself lucky you were here to tell me."
She looked at him straight in the eye, " Now you think about it, you blue toed creep, would Kiume be doing the same to you, if you found some one you wanted to get to know better, laugh with, love with, have kits with..or would he be at your back telling that poor female what a great catch you were. Best friend my a**."

Moake sat in stunned silence as his malicious words failed to even pierce the furious cheetah. The rabbit knew he was on the losing end, and it was bound to escalate into violence if he let it continue. Maybe this fight was futile. She was more of a determined fire-breathing serpent than she appeared to be on the outside. Still, the rabbit refused to let his cheetah go without a fight. But, he wasn't sure he knew how to respond. He just wanted out.
"Are you feeling threatened? By little ol' me?" He asked, the spite in his voice gone. He was done playing. "That's the only way I can explain... that." He motioned towards Raposa's paw, claws extended and tearing the ground. "At least I don't pick on things smaller than me."
Moake displayed a final sneer and turned to bolt back to where he'd left Kiume. His plan obviously didn't work too well. Kiume would be much more cooperative in listening to his pleas.

" You're right, I 'don't pick on things smaller then me, but I will not let myself be bullied by things that think just because I am a shy wall flower I roll over and let them walk all over me."
Raposa stood up, eying the rabbit as he began to bolt toward, no doubt, where Kiume was.
" I think we should just settle the matter once and for all and save everyone's time. He either was lying to me about wanting to stay and get to know me and possibly have cubs, in which case more the fool was I, or he wasn't and you, you little blue toed freak will just have to live with it."
Raposa gestured with her paw, " Shall we then, go find the cheetah in question?" By now she was so mad she didn't care if the little meal on feet was right or not. She just wanted to know, so she could just put it all behind her when Kiume left.
She'd learned her lesson. She'd been an idiot to think anyone like Kiume would have ever wanted anything to do with someone like her, despite her brave words to the vile blue toed demon in front of her.
