Dio stared at Cinder and he touched the place on his face where a mouth should be. He gave a rueful sort of look, 'She wouldn't be able to hear me on that thing.' He had that same feeling he'd had on the space ship, when Rhys told him to speak the commands. He really didn't miss having a mouth most of the time, but it was moments like this he realized that some simple things had been stolen from him.
He averted his gaze and settled into the seat next to her. Dio folded his hands in his lap and he could hear the music on the other end of the phone when Merci answered.
The kitsune had a hand up over one ear to hear over the blaring music. "Thanks for calling The Raven's Plume. We're open nightly from 9 pm to 4 am. How can I help you?" She hated answering the phone, but at the moment the other bartender was getting drinks. The live music was always loud and it made it hard to hear anything through the handset.

Cinder quirked a brow, "ah, right." Truthfully she hadn't thought about it, as Merci's voice came up on the phone her attention went back to it. "Hey babe, Dio and I are heading out to requisition something for Twilight Designs. Don't worry I'll keep us out of trouble." Cinder tilted her head looking over to Dio as she spoke.
Once Cinder and and Dio had set off Rhys hurried out to the garage and slid onto his bike. Rhys waited for Tek to crawl onto the bike and curled up behind him. "We are going to take a different route," Rhys didn't go the same direction as Cinder he knew he couldn't tail her without her noticing, but hopefully it was the museum he was thinking of.
Tek couldn't help but let out a little mental giggle as xe curled around Rhys. Tightening xyrs arms around Rhys, Tek didn't really have much conversation wise to bring up but as the bike started off the young fiend started mentally humming the mission impossible theme.

Merci blinked a bit when she heard her lovers voice. "Oh! Right. Okay then. I could go if you don't want to. I mean you could come by and take over for me." She had to lean over closer to the bar so she could drown out some of the noise from the patrons. Really she couldn't afford to stay on the phone long, it was a busy night and the band had just started a new set.
Dio sat in the passenger seat and looked out the window while they talked. It was going to be an eventful night. He was nervous. Cinder and he hadn't gotten off on the right foot when they met, and they rarely spent any time alone together. He wasn't really sure if it was the idea of stealing or making her somehow unhappy with him that was giving him the jittery feeling in the pits of his stomach.
Luckily the car ride wouldn't be too terribly long. Even though the estate was on the outskirts of town, the Museum was fairly close. It had been a house owned by the Von Helson family and donated to the city. Otherwise it might have been closer to the center of town.

"Don't worry too much about it, should be done in time to stop by and help you with the closing time clean up," Cinder paused hearing the band in the background, "if it starts getting too busy, call in Clotho - she's got some eggs brewing and grumpy but able to work and likely will come in." A brief horrible image of Clotho attacking one of the customers came to Cinder's mind but she pushed it away; the draconian probably wouldn't destroy anyone outright.
Cinder turned onto a side road, driving up now closer to the museum, "don't worry, we'll see you later." Clicking her cell off Cinder set it on an indention just under her radio. "Alright, we'll be parking back a ways out of sight - anything goes wrong you get out of sight and don't let anyone catch you. Get back to the car. Just a museum though shouldn't be too bad to get in and out of.." Cinder glanced over to the dark fiend his rainbow hair and light shimmers showing strong in the dark.
"You ok to do this?" Cinder paused looking over, getting the stone was more than possible...even easy for her but Dio other than the bit of cash he'd squirreled away wasn't use to this sort of thing. A part of the pirate's mind wondered if she should even bring him along.
Rhys followed along behind Cinder, the light on his bike off. Part of him was surprised and pleased he hadn't been spotted - though unknown to him the call to Merci` helped masked his presence.
Looks like we are almost there - she's turning off the main road. Remember this is just observation don't want to get too in the middle of it if we can help it. Might botch up whatever they are doing.
Excitement came forth from the little fiend curled up against Rhys back, xys arms and tentacles tight as they road along the road. Right! Watch and ... help - they'll probably need help.
Hearing the excited tremble in Tek's voice Rhys couldn't help wondering how bad of an idea this actually was going to turn out to be.

The kitsune didn't have any reason to suspect that there was anything to be worried about. Hell, even if she did know what they were up to she would probably just tell her partner to keep her head down when the shooting started. "Alright love, see you then!" The last thing Cinder would have heard was Merci yelling "HEY! I told you that you've had en-" as the phone disconnected.
Dio turned his face away from the window and gazed at Cinderfae. He couldn't really hide the nervousness, but there was also a determination in the set of his shoulders. 'I will be fine. I have helped Merci before. She needed me to open doors for her so she could help Reyna.' That was the only thing he could think of that was remotely close to this situation. His guardian had tried to go through a broker, but it had "gone sideways" was the term she'd used. Dio's voice was quiet, but steady, 'I won't let something happen to her. I won't let her be locked in a box while what is left of her slowly fades away.' Something in how he murmured that into her mind sounded like he might be speaking from a personal experience. 'Whatever you need me to do. I won't ask questions. Just tell me how to fix things.'
It did bother him that he was so utterly useless on his own. It also annoyed him that the thought had even crossed his mind. He couldn't afford to be selfish. The little soon-to-be-sprite needed all the help she could get. The flashing of the streetlights overhead as they sped past turned into the dim glow of security lights mounted on the back building. The parking lot was only dimly lit as they approached their mark.

Cinder gave a shrug, if the little fiend said he could do it she would believe him. She pulls one of her thin cigars out of a case in her jacket, lighting it and resting back taking a pull as she drives. "Not too much longer now. " Her mind ran through what would be needed, having Dio there would be rather helpful make the whole thing go much more smoothly. She grinned slightly to herself, all the trouble the little shadow creatures had caused who knew they would be so useful for crime. It never occurred to her that getting the creature started on such things would be a bad idea, after all the world wasn't always a pretty place they might as well learn it quickly.
The pirate would occasionally glance over to Dio as she drove, the distraction of the enigma of a fiend so close by left her attention off of the possibility of someone tailing them. After all who would actually attempt something like that it was a terrible idea after all.
Rhys continued with is bike following after Cinder and Dio his curiosity truly peaked, whatever was going to happen he knew it would be a dozy and something he very much wanted in on. Occasionally he felt Tek, squirming up and peeking over xyrs shoulder to get a look at the area around them but the ride went mostly quiet as they neared their destination.
The pirate's attention went ahead, as she saw the building rising ahead. Glancing over to Dio she murmurs, "almost showtime. Simple plan...we'll keep to that and everything should go off without a hitch." Pulling the vehicle up to a spot mostly hidden away from the museum, she cuts the engine a moment later. Grabbing a small bag from the back of the vehicle she opens the door before sliding out heading toward the doors of the building ahead.
Seeing the vehicle ahead stop, Rhys, cuts the engine to his bike it wouldn't do for Cinder or Dio (who would probably alert Cinder) to realize they were there. Jumping off of the bike he pushes it up into the forest nearby leaning the now quieted machine against a tree. Peering out soon after Rhys and the dark little fiend he was not often separated from made their way forward from the trees.

The black fiend didn't even bother opening the door to the truck, phasing through the metal barrier with ease. He hadn't noticed anyone following them, he was too fixated on the task ahead of them. 'If you think at me we can still communicate. You won't need to speak out loud. You probably already know that but... It will be helpful when I'm not next to you.' He floated over the ground silently, ghosting behind Cinder as they approached the museum.
Oddly enough the jitters and nervousness were melting away. The voices that were always running in the back of his mind were strangely silent. He could sense that they were anticipating whatever was about to happen. He rolled his burgundy eye up toward the starry sky for a brief moment to reassure himself that they were still there. They twinkled in the otherwise black expanse that stretched out above them, the only witnesses to what they were about to do.
At least that's what Dio thought....
