Your Name: Doof
Pae'il's Name: Katya
Breed: Demon
Gender: Female

Suggested Power:
Overcharge: By being within a several yards of another pae she can seek harmony with their source of magic and amplify the other pae's ability. To do this she must focus on the other pae and thus cannot be fighting while using it, although she can still move or fly at speed (to keep up with the pae she's supporting) and converse, usually in terse, concise responses. Under these circumstances she can normally amplify other Pae's ability by a factor of two, but with intense focus and very close physical proximity, she can overcharge other pae's abilities to an even greater extent, or multiple pae at once.
Weapon of Choice: Composite Bow: A slightly shorter-than-average composite bow, picked for its light weight and compact design rather than power.

Personality: Katya is fairly easygoing, and enjoys the company of others. She will stop to help anyone that needs it and is generous with both her time and her talents. She will normally follow what her heart tells her to do, though all too often she'll follow what her peers tell her to do as well. Faithful and loyal, she does her best every day to smile, regardless of how she feels inside, and hopes that her cheer will rub off on those around her.

* Merits: Team Player: By her very nature, she will always work to aid the team and see to their needs. She considers the unity and solidarity of a group crucial to their success at any endeavour.
Rational: She has a capacity to always think through problems rationally, rather than emotionally. This is not to say she is terribly logical or intelligent, but it does mean that she is not prone to making rash decisions or moves motivated by passion or her feelings. She tends to be a voice of reason and caution, although she won't force that opinion on anyone.
Excellent Flier: Her heart has always belonged in the sky, and from her first flight she has always sought to fly higher, faster and more skilfully than ever. Never one to compare herself to others, she only seeks to improve herself, purposefully keeping herself ignorant of how much more advanced her flying technique is compared to your average angel or demon.
* Flaws: Physically weak: She is skinnier and on the short side, with neither strength nor constitution amongst her merits. Although she can fly all day, on the ground she will not be able to keep up with others if there is going to be hard running or prolonged combat involved.
Indirect: She has trouble speaking her mind. Although she will glorify the Guardians without question, when it comes to her own concerns and wishes, she won't step on anyone's toes when it comes to voicing opinions. Even if she knows she's right.
Insecure: She is obsessed with keeping the Guardians' favor, as well as trying to stay on the good side of those she considers friends. She is aware of her physical frailty and considers it a weakness that might lead to rejection by her peers should they ever become hindered by it, so she has a habit of pandering to those she cares about.

Likes: Flight, Exploration, Nature, Charity, History and artifacts, Peace and Quiet
Dislikes: Direct Combat, Heavy clothing or armor, Crowds, Meat, Rain

Fears: Falling out of favor, letting others down, being a hindrance, being grounded
Goals: The empowerment of the Guardians, seeing her comrades through their trials, Exploring all of Telrunya
Character Behavior: Katya will seem quiet to those who meet her for the first time. Her conversation will be guarded, not out of lack of trust but because she's particularly careful to not blurt out something that might offend. She will seem passive most of the time, being both agreeable and yet somewhat mundane in all her dealings. Should someone broach a topic of interest to her, she'll be prone to rambling until someone stops her, or until she finishes her story or remark, which could take a very long time. Her spirit unlocks when she takes wing, and if one could keep up with her in flight she could be observed laughing and hollering as she loops and wheels through the air. By contrast, when in towns or cities she'll appear to be a little glum or bored, as most of the trappings of settled life hold no interest to her. She yearns for a life of adventure and exploration, and wants to search Telrunya for historical documents and artefacts to prove to everybody once and for all the true glory of the Guardians.

Brief History:
Katya has no memory of life outside the castle. Truth be told, she's a little fuzzy on the details of life inside the castle since she tended to spend most of her days daydreaming about what the rest of the island must be like. She's always been kind and courteous, particularly to the faeries that care for her, and has made a name for herself by doing her best to aid them in return, even with the most mundane of tasks. Working alongside the other children became her way of getting closer to them, since she's not exactly a good conversationalist. Perhaps the hallmark of her childhood were the days following when she learned how to fly. Although always behind the others with regards to strength or combat ability, she was fluttering and hovering before she could walk, and she was flying before she could run. She would often fly around for no reason, even in places where it was inappropriate, say, narrow hallways, especially when she was still quite small. In later days she learned some restraint, but still took to the sky every chance she got.

Questions:

1. While growing up, did you get along with the other kids? Yes. I was always particularly careful to be mindful of their own situations and mindsets and always avoided conflict that way.
2. What is your earliest memory? The view from the window the day after a particularly violent storm. The grey sky had given way to spectacular cloud formations and a glorious dawn. I couldn't fly back then but I knew I wanted to.
3. Are you an optimist or pessimist? I like to think I'm an optimist, but a practical one. You can't believe something's going to just work out if you don't plan, labour and sacrifice for it.
4. Do you have any annoying quirks, mannerisms, or habits? What are they? Well, I really do my best to not be annoying. I guess I can sometimes be a little too apologetic sometimes, and I thinkg maybe I talk about flying a little too much. I suppose I tend to wander a bit when I'm trying to explain something, you know, like when you finally think of a way to explain an abstract idea to someone, and go 'hey, that'd be a great metaphor' and then you use it, but when you put it into words it doesn't come out quite the way you expected, so you keep on tacking words and sentences trying to get it to make sense but in the end you have a big jumbled mess of an explanation that nobody understands but you, then you have to start over and sometimes.... Oh, right.
5. Name the one fairy that had the most influence on you while growing up. What was it they did? Highness Aisa. She was always there for us whenever we came off the worse for wear from one of Master Hania's lessons. Especially since I came off slightly worse than most of the others.
6. In your opinion, what is the worst thing any creature could do? Give up. I mean, losing your drive, your will to do what's right. Live for the Guardians, Live for your fellows, Live for yourself. Don't have a purposeless life.
7. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love? True love, yes. It's not something that's gifted or set in stone. You can discover it, but you have to keep feeding it and working at it otherwise you lose it. Soul mates? No. I don't believe there's someone out there who I'm supposed to seek out or who's supposed to seek out me, who is perfect for me and so on and et cetera. I think one day I'll find someone I love, who'll care for me as much as or more than he or she frustrates me, who I'll get mad at then treat to dinner in the same day. That person is not predestined, and it's possible that person will not be the only one I'll have that kind of relationship with.
8. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)? To be completely honest, I'm not honest at all. Wait, that came out wrong. Er, to elaborate, I keep my thoughts and feelings pretty well to myself, but more than that, pretty well in check. Raw emotion only gets in the way most of the time. If being blunt is going to be a hindrance, I simply clam up until there is a more appropriate time to voice my feelings. I also like to think I can not only contain my emotions, but control them as well. If I'm angry, I think rationally to dispel my anger. If I'm stressed, I mentally lay out a plan to deal with what's stressing me. It'd take something pretty extreme to get me to vent.
9. Do you have any biases or prejudices? Don't we all? But I try not to have prejudices. The problem with not having met many pae is that I don't really know the answer to this question yet.
10. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it? Abandon my Guardians, or abandon my friends. They need me, and I need them even more.
11. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)? The Guardians. Naturally. Also, my fellow Pae if by my death they might be saved. I guess I'd also be prepared to die defending or upholding an ideal. Actually, the list could get really long depending on the circumstances. Let's just say that I don't fear death one bit, and that if life or the Guardians end up putting me in that situation, I'll try to meet my end with dignity and my convictions intact.
12. What do you do to unwind? Isn't it obvious? I Fly. It is, absolutely and without question, the BEST thing anyone can do to unwind.

1. "Now that you've become a Teen and are allowed out of the castle by yourself, what's the first thing you want to do? What's the first thing you actually do?"

The fairy held clasped her hands in front of her in a pleading gesture. "I know you're excited but please, don't push yourself! You know the Master would just get angry at you again if you broke something."
Katya frowned. She had nearly broken down and cried after her last lecture, when she had flown into an ornamental vase at considerable speed. Indoors. She'd cleaned up, of course, and tried to fix it, but she knew that she had screwed up, and during the lecture had reminded herself that it was her own fault and that she should chin up and take it with dignity.
So it was today. She would descend from the city and for the first time be able to experience Telrunya, adhering to her teachings and being a good reflection of her training.
"Don't you worry." Katya told the fairy, a gentle smile on her lips. "I promise to just explore a little today."
The little fairy raised an eyebrow. "No theatrics?"
"No theatrics." Katya reassured her, at which point she turned away and began to fly from the roof of the keep to the outer wall's parapet. In a controlled, responsible fashion, of course.

The demon landed atop the parapet of the castle, wings remaining outstretched as she surveyed the magnificent landscape surrounding it. So high up, and yet she could only see part of the island that awaited below. Most of the other teens were gathering themselves and recalling their lessons, some of them out loud, for this big step, this first true flight. Not Katya.
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She could feel the wind in her hair and flowing over her wings, gusty and turbulent as it broke over the castle wall and eddied into the courtyard behind her. Then her powerful, leathery wings fluttered and twitched until she stretched them taut, her eyes snapping open and turning skyward as she leapt off the parapet, flapping down hard with both wings at the same time, launching her a dozen yards into the air before pulling into a half-loop that reversed her direction and pointed her straight towards the castle wall. The teenage demon craned her neck back as she inverted, catching sight of the castle parapet and clearing it by a foot or so before she tucked her wings close into her body and raced down the face of the castle wall, accelerating until the masonry was just a gold-grey blur.

And then the castle was behind her, and all she could see was the verdant green island of Telrunya far below. The wind tugged at her face; it squeezed her eyes to dry little slits and stole away most of her breath. She was loving every second of it. The demon whooped in exhilaration, the sound getting lost to the roar in her ears, and the ground rushing up to meet her. She spread her wings out a little bit, controlling her descent and angling her towards a river she could see between the treetops, aiming for a spot where it widened enough to cause a break in the forest, and swooped down towards the water, extending her wings and leveling off low enough for her to reach down and touch it if she wanted to. Katya then climbed high enough to put a couple of yards between her and the surface and raced down the winding river, still carrying enough speed to scream past a hawk that was traveling along her flightpath.
"Sorry!" She yelled giddily, laughing as she did a little barrel roll, which slowed her enough to flare out her wings and land on the riverbank.

Her feet felt smooth, wet stones beneath them. Her ears could hear the river rushing around a tree that had fallen into it. This was it. Telrunya. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. It sure smelled different than the castle, which for some reason brought an enormous grin to her face. As she exhaled, she stretched her wings out, letting them catch the breeze once more before folding them away. It was then that she recalled her conversation back at the keep, and winced, subconsciously glancing back up at the sky, imagining Master Hania's eyes glaring disapprovingly at her. No theatrics indeed.

Your Name: HelMel
Pae'il's Name: Agnus (Latin for 'Lamb')
Breed: Demon
Gender: Male

Suggested Power: Prayer - By focusing, he is able to send bits of his energy to others to heal or otherwise fortify them. This power will weaken Agnus when used, so he has to be careful to use it sparingly.
Weapon of Choice: Long Bow - Agnus fears hand to hand combat. He prefers to fire on his foes from a distance using a long, slender bow and arrows that he fashions as a hobby.

Personality: Agnus is a meek demon, who would rather garden than take up arms. He carries, however, a since of morality and justice that keeps him from deserting his brethren. He is physically weak and tends to avoid confrontation and eye contact. Aggie does have a kind heart, though, and will do thoughtful things for others in as much anonymity as possible.
  • Merits:
Kind - Agnus will go out of his way to make someone smile, if he can.
Intuitive - Agnus can feel out a situation and know when to fight and when to flee. He is good at reading others.
Optimistic - Agnus is perpetually optimistic and can always find the good in any situation.
  • Flaws:
Easily Distracted - Agnus has the attention span of a cracked out 4 year old.
Shy - Agnus is painfully shy to the point where social interaction extends past awkward into "Please...just no."
Cowardly - Agnus is scared of most things and will hide when situations get too tense.

Likes: Flowers
Dislikes: Bumblebees and turnips

Fears: Bumblebees, tree limbs falling on his head, mean Pae, spiders, spicy food, the dark, papercuts, etc.
Goals: To make the world peaceful for all Pae'il
Character Behavior: Agnus is shy and awkward around other Pae. He usually avoids eye contact and tends to stand toward the back of crowds. He fails hard at combat training but excels at archery.

Brief History: (describe what it was like being raised by the fairies in the big castle called Telrunya City. Create your Pae'il's childhood and describe it.) Agnus, as a weak soul, was content to indulge himself in activities that had nothing to do with the formal training. He would sneak out to play in the garden. Scolded often for his lack of diligence, Aggy let his shyness take over.

Questions: (answer in-character please)
  1. While growing up, did you get along with the other kids?

Yes, I suppose so. *blushes and looks away* ((He watched the other kids without a lot of interaction.))

  2. What is your earliest memory?

When I was little, I saw one of the other children crying. I set out a cookie where the other kid would find it then hid myself behind a cart. When the other child found the cookie, his face lit up, and he was happy again. It was a great day. *said with uncharacteristic energy*

  3. Are you an optimistic or pessimistic?

Optimist, for sure! Thank the Guardians, there are so many wonderful things in the world. How can someone stand to be cynical? Well, I mean, unless they want to be. I guess... I can't really say...

  4. Do you have any annoying quirks, mannerisms, or habits? What are they?

No? I don't think so... *shuffles and mumbles a bit nervously* ((Pretty much everything he does is an annoying quirk, mannerism, or habit.))

  5. Name the one fairy that had the most influence on you while growing up. What was it they did? (You can make up the fairy)

Iris. She's so pretty. I used to watch her flitter about the flower garden when she wasn't busy elsewhere. I want to be pretty like that... Err, I mean... I'm sorry. Forgive me. Just rambling.

  6. In your opinion, what is the worst thing any creature could do?

Take joy in the suffering of others.

  7. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?

I suppose... *thinks about it and then blushes a deep scarlet* ((He does.))

  8. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?

I'm not sure how to answer this question. I'm just me... Sorry. ((He has a boisterous side yearning to break free, but it is hidden DEEP down somewhere in him. Denial is his middle name.))

  9. Do you have any biases or prejudices?

I try not to have any. It's a shame that the heathens hate the peace the Guardians bring to us so much. If only we could convince them all of the glory of the Guardians.

  10. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it?

Umm... well, that is... I... *turns an awful shade of blue and cannot answer* ((I challenge the RP to throw as many WTF awful things at his as possible. He may not like it, but it'll be fun to watch him try.))

  11. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?

Umm, I'm not sure... I'm sorry. *is visibly upset* ((Guarding his feelings again, I see. I could see him being a great protector of the weak or injured if ever goaded into it.))

  12. What do you do to unwind?

Garden, make arrows... bubble baths are nice, too!

"Now that you've become a Teen and are allowed out of the castle by yourself, what's the first thing you want to do? What's the first thing you actually do?"

Agnus clung to the outer wall of the city, his heart beating so rapidly he felt it would shoot from his chest in an attempt to escape. This outside world looked normal enough, but he had no way of knowing if anything was waiting for him. "Take a deep breath," he whispered to himself to steady his nerves.

Pushing away from the wall, the demon latches his wings around him to form a cape and took a step toward the forest. So far so good, he thought to himself, relaxing a little.

As the teen winds around the trees, ever vigilant lest a limb fall and clonk him on the head, his feelings of unease become more and more a distant memory. He pauses to watch a family of quail scuttle by him. What a sweet family!

Agnus was ready to turn back; a first venturing should not be to far, he had decided. Something scarlet caught his eye. A briar rose danced in the sunlight as a soft breeze whistled through the trees. It was lovely and new to him. Taking some clippings, the demon hurried back home with thorn-bloodied hands, eager to bring this new life to his garden.

Your Name: HelMel
Pae'il's Name: Elda
Breed: Angel
Gender: Female

Suggested Power: Vengeance - Elda is haunted by a vengeful spirit. In times of crisis, the spirit can possess her leading to a go into a Berzerker type rage.
Weapon of Choice: Falchion and Buckler

Personality: She battles the empty feeling she harbors. She is secretly caring, but she is so introverted that no one is allowed to see.
  • Merits:
Loyal - Elda is well assimilated to the Guardian way. She will follow orders with little question.
Honest - She does not believe in deception. Instead, she feels any conflict can be settled in an honorable duel or through diplomatic relations.
Diligent - Elda is not easily swayed. Once she puts her mind to a task, she will complete it at any cost.
  • Flaws:
Cold - Elda believes emotions make a Pae week and open to betrayal. She feels as well that emotions cloud judgement. She comes off as disdainful.
Distrusting - Her loyalty is a two-edged sword. While she gives herself fully to her mission, she keeps a wary eye on her companions, lest they betray her.
Cynical - Life holds little joy for the angel.

Likes: Kittens... but you didn't hear that from me.
Dislikes: Pretty much everything else

Fears: Elda fears loneliness, yet she refuses to trust anyone and thereby avoid it. Maybe she's a bit masochistic in that respect.
Goals: To advance the wishes of the Guardians (and feed stray kittens)
Character Behavior: Elda lets her sword do the talking. Due to the nature of the spirit haunting her, she knows and has known little happiness. She does not feel sorry for herself; instead, she takes a pragmatic approach to life, relying on rational decisions.

Brief History: (describe what it was like being raised by the fairies in the big castle called Telrunya City. Create your Pae'il's childhood and describe it.)

Elda had her happy childhood stripped away by the spirit of a female who had met an untimely death at the hands of her lover. She was pushed into being a vessel of vengeance. Her good judgement, however, channeled her training into being a good soldier.

Questions: (answer in-character please)
  1. While growing up, did you get along with the other kids?

Other children were too focused on playing games. I trained instead.

  2. What is your earliest memory?

My first sword. It was a sabre. I was very fond of that sword. Shame I outgrew it.

  3. Are you an optimistic or pessimistic?

I expect nothing. I only react.

  4. Do you have any annoying quirks, mannerisms, or habits? What are they?

That would imply that I annoy myself. You would have to ask the others.

  5. Name the one fairy that had the most influence on you while growing up. What was it they did? (You can make up the fairy)

The weaponry fae are all useful to me. My only complaint is that they go too easy.

  6. In your opinion, what is the worst thing any creature could do?

    Make foolish decisions.

  7. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?

I believe that after lust is gone, feelings can give way to acceptance. This is what Pae call love, yes?

  8. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?

What I am thinking and feeling is my business.

  9. Do you have any biases or prejudices?

    Yes. *grin*

  10. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it?

Not to my knowledge. I guess we'll wait and see.

  11. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?

    The Guardians and myself, only.

  12. What do you do to unwind?

Unwinding implies I've wound myself tightly to begin with...

"So you're off from training for the day. What exactly are you up to, why are you doing it, and who are you doing it with?"

A day without training was a waste of a day to the angel. She had suited up, expecting to be allowed to join in regardless of her so-called "off" day; however, she had been chased away because the trainers felt that every day was too much for the teens.

"What the hell do I do now?" she frowned, removing the last of her armor and releasing the ribbon around her hair, letting it cascade over her shoulders.

You can track down that no good Pae who murdered me.

Elda closed her eyes and shook the voice from her head. She had no patience for the spirit today, and in a mood like this she would lose control of herself. <******** it, I'm taking a bubble bath."

SQUIRE INFORMATION

For Round two, the RP round:

In order for a Squire to become a full-fledge Holy Knight, a leader of the Order of the Light as well as leader for all Angels and Demons, he or she must prove strong and worthy.

Role-Play Checklist:
  • [ ]Reply to Knight Lord Andrei (knight training)
  • [ ]Reply to Archmage Tansa (Light (magic) training)
  • [ ]Reply to Professor Asatira (History trainer)
  • [ ]Reply to Grand Champion Hania (fight trainer - this may involve more than just one post as this trainer is designed to demonstrate how these pae'il will fight)
  • [ ]Reply to Highness Aisa (healing skills trainer - teaches basic pae first aid skills
  • [ ]SOLO RP any topic
  • [ ]Completed RP with a fellow Squire
  • [ ]Completed RP with any ancient Pae'il
  • [ ]Completed RP with any fae
  • [ ]Knight Quest (can be done with a partner or solo)
  • [ ]Final Trial - Awakening the Warrior Within
  • [ ]In any RP, the Squire must*:
    • [ ]Spar or Battle at least once
    • [ ]Use their unique ability at least once (for it's intended purpose, not to just practice or show off)
    • [ ]Use their Knight abilities at least once (for it's intended purpose, not to just practice or show off)
    • [ ]Demonstrate faithfulness to the Guardians
*These are to demonstrate to us that you'll be able to handle the role when the real battle for Telrunya occurs.

Role-Play Guidelines:
  • You have until these Pae'il become Adults to complete the checklist as fully as you can. The time will be approximately 6 weeks, but may be longer if RP activity is slow.
  • Players will not miss out or be penalized if they are unable to get the interaction required with the trainers. Players are still responsible for all other RP.
  • We will be judging each RP to determine which Squires become knights. Only 5 out of the 11 will make it.
  • If you have questions, feel free to ask. If you don't understand something, that's ok! Just ask and we'll try to clear up anything that might not make sense.
  • Be honest with your character's reactions, because we have a secret position available for the right Pae'il. wink
  • We encourage you to RP more than just the requirements on the checklist. The more well-rounded and fleshed out via RP your Squire is, the better chances you'll have of not only becoming a Holy Knight, but the Grand Lord, who is the head knight. There are also a few special secret positions that we'll be looking to fill with the right pae.

We realize this is a lot of RP, but it will be worth it. These Knights will grow into an "Exalted" stage, which is a new RP-based stage after Adults, but before Luminaries. While they cannot become Luminaries due to their role and position in the plot, they are just as powerful as Luminaries, having all of their characteristics. Their official cert art will reflect that, and include details unique to their character. Each Knight will be a reborn and awakened member of the special Holy Army, be given a title and be considered one of the leaders of the Blood Pae breeds. The players will be privy to all plots involving them before they play out.

In the event the player of one of these Knights goes inactive, that Knight will simply retire. We will not rehome or reassign them. To protect the plot, we're assigning at least two knights to staff players in order to keep the plot moving. Anyone who completes all RP requirements will be awarded with an Exalted IPC, altho it might not be a Knight. We have a few secret positions that are equally awesome to be filled out, and we're hoping all entries can fill these positions.

Your Name: Seiana_ZI
Pae'il's Name: Nephi
Breed: demon
Gender: Male

Suggested Power: Mark of Justice - Nephi can draw an indelible mark on another Pae'il, stating which behavior that will activate the mark. If this behavior is done, that Pae'il will be cursed. Performing this ability will take time, as he naturally needs ink and needle (or some other drawing method), as well as for the receiver of the mark to stay still, which will likely require them to either be sedated or tied down.
Weapon of Choice: Blow Dart & Poisons/Potions - Nephi spends a lot of his spare time researching and developing new lethal, efficient poisons to quickly eliminate enemies. He occasionally uses this spare time to make things to boost himself, as well. During battles, he coats the darts and blows them at enemies from a range -- this helps keep him at a distance and fairly fast.

Personality: Nephi is dedicated and driven, a squire who believes he has a lot to prove and perhaps less time than most to prove it. Most of his energies are dedicated to driving the cause forward of the Guardians, and the rest is left for charisma and a sarcastic streak.

  • Merits:
Driven - Nephi's determination is unshakeable, and he will do about whatever it takes for the Guardians' sake. He is determined to prove himself worthy of the promotion to Holy Knight, no matter what disadvantages may be placed in front of him.

Charismatic - Nephi is fairly good with other pae, tendency for smartassery aside. He is willing to step forward and speak to others in the most diplomatic manner possible, even to those he might see as lesser than him. That is not to say he cannot be pushed to anger, but he is generally genial and easy to get along with.

Strategic - Nephi is always on the lookout for ways to boost the Guardians, whether in their power or in their missions for the isle. This has resulted in him having a relatively strategic mind. He is always planning, and is always on top of finding solutions for problems provided they have some relation to the Guardians' will.
  • Flaws:
Smartass - Nephi's intelligence can feed into a tendency to take things literally, mostly in a joking, smirking sense. He enjoys poking holes in statements and questions, something some pae might find more irritating than amusing.

Dismissive - If a task cannot ultimately benefit the Guardians, even in some minor way, Nephi is quick to drop it and whoever is involved and toss it aside. This is part of his laser focus on the Guardians, but can cause conflict when it causes him to dismiss pae who may otherwise be his friend.

Overzealous - It could be argued that Nephi is too dedicated to the Guardians. His dedication to their will and way borders on obsessive, and it can result in him being too much of a stickler for rules without much, if any, room for leniency.

Fears: Nephi fears death, specifically dying before he has fulfilled his purpose.
Goals: That all the land, even the heretics, believe in the Guardians and their Strength, building up the Guardians' power and allowing them to Rule the Land as they properly should once more.
Character Behavior: A bit of an ambivert, Nephi will not actively seek people out unless it is beneficial, but converses with ease when spoken to. When particularly friendly with someone, he might tend towards jokes and smirks when appropriate, though he may tend to those automatically when faced with questions or challenges. When left to himself, it's not uncommon to find Nephi in his personal space, experimenting with new combinations, or simply walking around outside, greeting the populace and enjoying the feel of the sun on his face.

Brief History: Nephi was a precocious child, brilliant from the day he was brought in and taught by the Mellons of the Words and Wills of the Guardians, as well as other, important things for knowledge. His precociousness would turn out to be an advantage for him, as he was not always able to learn from the mellons and his peers in person. A rapidly growing level of fatigue and dizziness eventually led to him fainting, landing him in the healing house with a severe anemic diagnosis. While under the required treatments to bring his function to a normal level, Nephi was determined not to fall behind, and once he was able, spent his time burying his nose into books and scrolls to soak up all the knowledge he could, even while separated from most of his peers.

He was only able to rejoin his peers as a teenager, once he was physically stronger and proven still mentally intact. Despite an overfamiliarity with the Healing House of Telrunya City, Nephi is perhaps more driven than ever, putting his best energy forward for the Guardians and their will.

Questions:
  1. While growing up, did you get along with the other kids?
I had no quarrel with the other kids. We all had the same goals, after all -- train to better serve the Guardians who had chosen us. Creating rivalries or enemies within a group of chosen seemed stupid at best.

  2. What is your earliest memory?
My earliest memory? Nothing interesting, really. I remember climbing up on a table and declaring myself Knight of the Square Table...

  3. Are you an optimistic or pessimistic?
I'd honestly like to consider myself to be a realist. Having views that are too bright or too dull are both incorrect.

  4. Do you have any annoying quirks, mannerisms, or habits? What are they?
If they were annoying to me, I wouldn't be doing them! (Though some pae may not appreciate the fact that he can be a smartass.)

  5. Name the one fairy that had the most influence on you while growing up. What was it they did? (You can make up the fairy)
Highness Aisa. Sure, I am not a healer, but that does not mean I cannot benefit from her knowledge of pae biology. In addition, she was always quite gentle, and I think of her as a sort of mother figure.

  6. In your opinion, what is the worst thing any creature could do?
Any creature? Does this include animals who may not know better? Still, though, I suppose the worst thing anyone could do would be hypocritical. If you believe one thing, at least follow through with that thing to the T. Of course, natural view changes by logical means are not bad.

  7. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
It seems a little idealistic to think that everyone has a true love or soulmate within such a limited population.

  8. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
I'd like to think I'm pretty straight-forward, but there are levels of how much I reveal, depending on the position of the other pae or my friendliness with them. For one, I am not likely to go sharing with the general populace my methods of eliminating the enemy. I understand some may find it ... questionable or underhanded.

  9. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
No, I see everything as it is. Faeries, for example, are known to be of second tier to the demons and angels. They are failures. This is fact. (Nephi would not believe he is ICly, but he is prejudiced against everyone who is not a Light Pae'il.)

  10. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it?
Betray the Guardians. The why should be fairly obvious, all things considered.

  11. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
      The Guardians.

  12. What do you do to unwind?
I have had too much time to unwind, so I do not spend much time doing it. I like to walk around the City, though. The sun feels good on my skin.

Pick ONE of these prompts to respond to: Free-form: Write a monologue or solo, describe anything you'd like to about what your pae may encounter, or has experienced, or how he or she feels about anything.

    "Nephi?"

The demon, laying on his stomach, face first into a pillow, groaned quietly when he heard the voice. He recognized it, of course. He had an innate familiarity with all those who worked in the healing house at this point, pae, fairy, or otherwise. They, likewise, had a familiarity with him, of that he was certain. He had been there long enough for it...

After a moment, Nephi brought himself up onto his hands, before flipping around, placing his back and wings against the headboard. A brow was quirked, casually, as he offered a surprisingly genial, "Is there something you need?"

The fairy laughed. "Shouldn't I be asking you that?"

"You're the one who called me."

Another laugh. "Alright, young Squire, point taken." She flew over to the demon, placing a small hand against his forehead, before zipping back, nodding. "I came to tell you that you've been approved. To ... not have to stay here anymore, if you don't want to."

Nephi shifted, eyes slowly widening. "Wait, did I hear you right?"

The smile he saw in turn told him all he needed to know, and he practically jumped up to hug the fairy -- before deciding to watch his own strength, and instead leading over to peck the fairy's cheek. She giggled. "Nephi! So polite you are." Flittering over to his supplies, the fairy settled herself on top of a case, crossing one leg over the other. Projecting, she shouted a, "C'mon, Nephi! Let's get ready to get out of here."

Nephi pushed himself out of the bed, a sudden spark in his eyes and a spring to his motions despite only waking up moments ago.

"I can't wait to kiss the sun."
