Azzo had finished the cookie as he stood there looking towards the fridge. His father seemed to have put him in perpetually continuous foul mood. Not that he really took it out on anyone but himself, but there was still that problem. He felt her touch before glancing down at the house, "Doesn't matter what I know."
He said softly before moving to get the things out of the fridge that needed to be heated up. It wasn't really that bad, it just really drained him to deal with his family. "He'll probably suck it up and be somewhat friendly for the sake of lunch." Azzo felt like informing her, "He usually is if there's guests."
It might've been the only saving grace keeping Azzo in the house at that time as he placed the turkey on the oven. "It just needs to be reheated." He added.

Her chest expanded and sank with one large and mostly silent sigh as he spoke, not wanting to push it anymore. It was obvious he was tense and upset, and it was unlikely that there was anything she could do to make him feel better. All she could possibly do was be there for him and let him stew or express his unhappiness to her. It was a job she'd do without question as his girlfriend, but it didn't keep her from feeling guilty about not being able to do more.
"Hopefully." She nodded softly to his words, hoping quite hard that it would be the case. Seeing him upset was bad enough, if she had to watch the men of the family bicker and fight all through dinner well.. that wasn't the optimal Thanksgiving dinner.
Glancing at the bird and the clock, she nodded softly, counting on her fingers for a moment before confirming for him. "Everything else should be ready by the time the turkey is reheated, so dinner should be ready soon."
