(Really wasn't sure where to put this, sorry if I'm in the wrong area)

Advertising? Yeah, probably. However, this is for something that's pretty darn cool, a little forum known as The Nintendo Wars. The gist of the place is that you create an army, complete with generals, captains, troops, etc. You do projects to create either upgrades to your troops, war machines, or special other things, which are:
-Artifacts: Items that, when equipped or used, do a wide variety of things, such as buffing up offense/defense, to causing a tidal wave to drench the area. Anything is possible with these.
-Heroes: Arguably the most powerful unit in your army. If you play LoL, think of them as the champions. You have to do a 100-day project for one, but it is worth it. Each hero starts off with four active abilities (which should mirror what they can do in the actual series they star in), which they perform manually, and one passive ability, which is basically active all the time. You can do projects to get more abilities, so if you want them to be more powerful (and why wouldn't you), then no need to fret.
And finally:
-The Ultimate War Machine: a monstrous, 200-day project that will wreck the battlefield its used on. Give it plenty of powers/weapons, because they should have them. The 200-day project time guarantees it ridiculously powerful, and durable as well (health is based on a day system, for heroes and war machines).

Now, some of these project times take quite awhile (its not actually 100 irl days for heroes or 200 for UWMs, since the game has each irl day equal 4 in-game days). If you want to speed up the process, then you can do something called a quest. A quest is however many parts you want/need it to be, and each part has to be at least 750 words. Each part is worth ten project days, so if you wanted to make a hero from scratch with just a quest (no waiting for project time at all), then just start off with the quest immediately (although ten parts is usually a pretty large quest; keep that in mind). Here's a really good example for you all. Keep in mind, before you start one, you have to ask permission first. It's there you post how many updates it'll be and what the main point of the quest is, as well as what it will be used on.

And finally, the moment you've all been waiting for: the battles (it is a war game, after all). The gist of it is this: one army asks to attack another one, then comes up with a number of forces to send in. When someone steps up to moderate the battle, both sides send in their plans to this mod, who will then look at both, and create a battle between the two armies using these plans. If one plan trumps the other, then that person would easily win. Battles can be a daunting task though; they generally have to be fair, and you have to keep in mind what a base can do (it has defenses, and these can be improved/created just like WMs.), and what each troop or WM or hero can do. But, it is definitely a rewarding experience if pulled off. Here's an excerpt from one of mine, just to give you a general idea of the complete insanity and wackiness that can come out of not just these, but the forum as a whole.

About the same time as Nova ran off after Claisen, a Satellmite came towards the Dark Star.
"Uhm, sir, there is apparently another enemy out there, sir. And he wants to duel you personally, sir."
The Dark Star turned toward the timid Satellmite.
"Hmmph. Alright, I'll meet this threat face to face. The rest of you, stay here for back-up."
The Dark Star floated into the battlefield awaiting its opponent. From behind, it could hear the scurrying of a Satellmite as it approached, almost like it wated to help personally.
"I told you, stay with the others. I'll handle this."
"Oh, really now?"
That was not the voice of a Satellmite.
The Dark Star turned to see the Satellmite transform into a strange, greenish creature, who looked quite a bit like a thief. Normally, this wouldn't be a problem, but said 'thief' was pointing a massive gun towards the Great Unholy One.
"Well, this sucks."
Popple pulled the trigger. The Dark Star attempted to veil itself, but it couldn't dodge several million bullets and a menagerie of rockets. Weakened, the Dark Star began to suck some of the life force out of those near. Popple could barely feel the effects. The master thief grinned and looked at the Star. AS he did so, he somehow managed to shoot a web of some sorts towards the ball of evil, preventing it from using its Veil to hide. Responding to this, the Dark Star fired a laser through the web and towards Popple, in an attempt to kill two birds with one stone. It burned the web, but Popple just deftly dodged it. However, several of the dark troops began to attack, worrying for the safety of their master. Popple just looked at them angrily.
"Aw, boo! Rookie, take care of these jerks for me."
Opening his bag, the monstrous Rookie jumped out and began to pummel the troops who had came in. Using the treevils as weapons, he swung at the nearby troops, and made sure to launch fireballs out at the Satellmites still on the ledge.

The Dark Star, now free from its webby prison, once more veiled itself. Popple turned to where the Star was previous.
"Oh, so you think you can hide, eh?"
Grbbing the RYNO, Popple fired it all around the area where the Dark Star was, eventually managing to hit the creature as it had attempted to get close enough to attack. The Dark Star faded instantly. A clone. The real Dark Star appeared behind Popple and fired a laser from point blank, sending the little thief flying.
"Wha- HEY!"
Rookie stopped clobbering the troops and turned his attention to the Star. Grabbing a fresh Treevil, he began to whack the creature over the head repeatedly, jarring the Star from doing much anything. After a couple whacks to the head, Rookie knocked the Dark Star out of the park, after which it landed with a sickening thud.

(Just as a note, OC's are allowed if they fit the theme of your army. Ratch in the quest example above is an OC, as well as some other characters in there, I'm sure).

That covers all of the main points, I believe. This is a fun place to participate in, and a fresh war will be starting soon (the final battle for this version should be on the 28th; I'm playing as the Senate from FE10.), so if you want to join in, now's a good as time as ever.
