"That's really neat. I used to dream about being a dragonrider when I was younger, so when I was Searched, I jumped at the chance to come. I think my master was a bit disappointed, though." He paused and nodded. "I've heard you Impress them like people do whers, almost. Except no blooding." Kerrit knew a bit about whers, but less than he knew about dragons. (And he didn't feel he knew much at all about dragons).
He finished his tuber, grabbed another, and quickly started peeling it before adding them both to the finished pile. "Let's go," he whispered. "We'll still have daylight left."

Salin nodded. "It shouldn't take more than a couple minutes to get these last few peeled," she said as she finished her tuber. With the two of them working more diligently than they had been all day, it was a very short time later when the last of the tubers were peeled and in the pile. She glanced over at the other end of the kitchen, found the cook wasn't looking at them, and lead the way out of the kitchen. Chores were done, time for some fun!
