well, you can mine soul gems..but i don't think you can make them..

Where do you mine soul gems and black soul gems ?

Only place i've seen gem veins is in blackreach.

I love playing skyrim and all, but blackreach is scary as hell. I tried to kill the dwarven sphere at the start but, it killed me like twice, so I snuck past it and I almost died by the Chaurus. But, over all, I think blackreach is scary.

Oh, well.....I'm in College and Companions, so I'm a Fighter and A Mage. I haven't gone so strongly into the quests with the College. I just thought it was mandatory, and so I could buy some spells.
