In the overwhelming feeling of the moment, when that great weight had finally lifted from her shoulders, Tisiphone had forgotten about the other female. It was a brief moment, but that it had happened at all was a serious lapse in judgement. She did not think that the assassin would harm her, but it was still unwise to ignore such a dangerous wolf.
"As you can see," she replied, having recalled the question. All she really wanted just then was some solitude to let it all sink in, so she could come to terms with everything. But it would be best to settle matters with Poine first.
"Have you given any further thought to what you would like in return?"

Poine shook her head, smiling, a glitter of amusement in her glowing eyes. "I have, but now is not the time to ask." She dipped her maw, and turned to pad away. "Enjoy your vengeance, Tisiphone. I will return some day soon to collect my favor."

Long after the assassin had disappeared into the unclaimed territory, Tisiphone sat contemplating the life she had ended so mercilessly. Perhaps killing him was not the best course of action, or the noblest, and it was certainly not the kindest, but it suited her just fine and she found that she did not regret her actions.
Her thoughts drifted from him to the past. Bitter memories gave way to happier times and she knew that she could finally start moving on. They would want her to live, rather than mope around like a sulky pup for the rest of her life. Turning her back on the corpse beside her, Tisiphone lifted her head in wolf-song, finally howling the song of farewell for her family.
