I never really managed to keep any journal, spiritual or otherwise. I've tried a number of times but I either forget about it or lose it. I don't even have anything resembling a Book of Shadows, though I do intend to remedy that at some point.

It's definitely a good way of keeping track of things. As long as you actually want to have one, that's cool. I've even heard of people making their own. smile Not me of course. I wouldn't know where to start, lol. I just go to Wal-Mart and buy one of the non-descript notebooks they have. My current books are black; one spiral bound, one not. I have a nice velvet-y green one for whenever I run out of space in the other one (which I found when I moved into my current house).

I just want some place to keep the basics, and specific references and rituals and whatnot. There's so much lore that it's not really portable as a block so It's a useful thing, whatever you want to call it.

As to the journals, I just haven't found a lot of use for thme in my own practice is all. No big deal.

Would you guys consider this 'fluffy'?
I made it because I never had any idea what to put in my BoS, and thought others might appreciate it.

Thoughts?

I didn't read through it fully, but just from looking at it I'd say it's more personal preference than 'fluffy bunny'. But that's just me. I like the way you set everything out into sections. Despite the fact that I've re-vamped my own BoS it lacks any coherency at the moment.

There's a good number of the terminology that's off. For instance, Neo-paganism isn't an earth based religion. Its an umbrella term for modern religions that don't follow the god of Abraham. That being said not all Pagans practice an earth religion. Rede means advice. And the Rede doesn't forbid people from actions that do harm. There is a difference between magic and magick. Runes come from Norse mythology. Your definition of rune I think would fit sigils better. Karma is not the "What you give is what you get" line of thinking in Hinduism. If I remember right karma is what you get for going against your dharma and it affects how you're reincarnated. Familiars are not pets. They're spirits. Magic doesn't have a color. Um... I think I got most of the ones I saw. I'm having trouble focusing at the moment.

And a fluffy bunny here is someone who is willfully ignorant.

Okay, most of that stuff was lifted off of certain websites, listed in the description.
(So what I believe may not be what is listed.)
As for familiar it does say: "An animal, either a pet or a spiritual entity, who serves the Witch as a magical helper".
Do you believe that familiars cannot be pets? Could anyone explain familiars a bit more to me, I'm new to the idea.

Genuinely curious, then why include it?

Generally when someone uses a pet as a familiar they don't understand completely what a familiar is. Usually they think its just some pet that you're close to. But if you have a pet long enough, have raised it right, and their personality clicks with yours the pet will act like what they believe a familiar as a pet would act like anyway.
San has a wonderfully put together blog post on familiars here that is a good starting place.
