I did this because I wanted to see if I could survive on really small amounts of money. Well, really I just did it because I got drunk and woke up in the hallway without my jacket and cards, but I'm pretty sure I've told some of you that already.

So here's what I've been doing the past two weeks.

I had 300 NOK to live on for these two weeks. I don't like borrowing money from anyone, so I simply don't do it. 300 NOK is about 50 dollars. Also keep in mind that I live in Norway, and everything is here is more expensive. For instance, a burger that costs a dollar in the US will cost 4 dollars in Norway. Everything is about twice as expensive, often more, food included.

So two weeks on 300 NOK is extremely difficult to do in Norway. To put it in perspective, I need to use about 500 NOK a week on food only. Then comes the weekends and any concerts, beer, movies, and of course, I only get 6k a month, where about 4k has to be set aside for rent and electricity. Bringing me down to 2k a month. That's about 500 NOK a week, isn't it? Yeah.

And this is the amount of money all students in Norway get every week. it's a student loan, so parts of it gets erased if you pass your finals, to make it easier on the students. I got lucky with my housing situation, a lot of people have to pay more for less. I have 20 square meters, and I pay 3,4k. My brother has 12 square meters, and pays 3,5k. And he shares a bathroom with two girls. I got my own bathroom in addition to the 20. But that's boring.

And holy crap is it hard to survive for two weeks on what I usually use in less than a week. I managed to use pretty much all of it the first week, even with only eating leftovers and some crisp bread. This week, I've eaten bread, butter and rice. With some soy sauce. I got some free bread from the nearby store, as they either have to throw it out or... give it away. Explained the situation, and I got a whole loaf of bread. I will forever love my local store. The butter was the cheapest kind. It's not even butter, no milk in it, and it tastes like s**t. The rice was also the cheapest kind, and it smells horrid and has a nasty consistency to it, buuut with some soy sauce it wasn't too bad.

I have four apples and a banana, and that's what I have to eat for tomorrow and Sunday, then I'll try to get some more bread.

And the stupid thing is, right now I would rather pay 80 NOK for a pack of cigarettes than 40 NOK on more bread and some paprika. Too bad I'm stuck with 13 NOK. That might get be a single bun. Maybe two.

TL;DR
I'M HUNGRY AND SUFFERING FROM NICOTINE WITHDRAWAL. I'm basically living under the poverty line, and I have been the last two weeks. I suddenly feel really bad for complaining that I can't afford Skyrim.

I'm having to survive on spending as little as possible aswell - so I kinda know how you feel!
Although I'm saving, so it's not cos I have a limit amount D;
