Please share you ideas of what you would want a new buff to be. Seems like adding a debuff to a buff, would ruin the balance of the ring, so add debuff options to the attack ring post. Buff is something you put on crew members, not on animated.
Post: 1) Name of ring? 2) What type of buff? 3) How it will function? 4) Duration of the buff? 5) Animation buff would have when it is applied? 6) Any other features you want ring to have?

I want something that raises attack. Doesn't have to be a big percentage of raised attack, like a ghi amp, but it could prove useful in areas (such as DMS) when you are surrounded by animated at a higher level than you.
a little rough draft, then:
Name: Charge (idk, first thing off the top of my head) Type: Attack booster Function: Raises attack by a small percentage--percentage gets higher with every higher rage rank. Maybe in increasing increments that add up to no more than 40% at most, so ghi amps still rule in that regard. Duration: 15 min. (Just to match other buffs at this moment)

We're suposed to come up with a buff? Just like that? A buff? No objectives? No alternate mechanics? A buff just because buffs? ... Okay... ... Nah, not okay! Worse, If someone suggests additional defense buffs, as in, buffs meant to solely defend you better, I'm murdering them unless I see proof that we need them. We're probably hitting over 70% total damage reduction with accurarcy/deflect/reflect accounted for already at this point. As far as I would much rather have the effect as part of an attack, I'm going to suggest vampirism as a buff. If we could have them, "short time" effect buffs could be done as well. Fleet is relatively short, and Turtle is the only one we have that is truly short spanning. And to be fair, it suck s. Emergency Buttons as whole are a bad idea, because that rage could save you other ways without wasting the slot for "the possibility of an emergency". So how about short spanning attack buffs instead? If people are that good at surviving and if death isn't much of a deal either (revives), then it's obvious people want foremost to improve on what they are already doing. Give us a "Kaioken" Ring that makes your attack improve for a very short time! People will love it! People will use it all the time! People... won't realize it's yet another of those "must have" that only affects one person, like meat, that will make them lose if the whole crew wants to bring it along all the time. Yep, I'm all for player individualization. Teaches people to work together and not stick to a routine as if it worked everywhere. Besides, wouldn't you love to use a ring that you can scream SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAARTA!!! when using? Also, Bloodmages!A ring that you can activate to make you use Health instead of stamina... At a much larger price. Should be something that doesn't make it impossible to heal yourself, but a chore to keep spamming anyways. Would complement vampiric attack rings very well. Attack Damage Pool. Red's idea. See knife sharpen. Mimicking the pool that we have on rock armor and making it work for damage instead.

Scobre Attack Damage Pool sounds more like something to add to an attack rather than a buff, but awesome idea. Armor pool works as a buff though. Why should the mechanics behind Damage pool be different?

I wonder how feasible this would be. To begin with there is one poignant issue with it. 0 luck doesn't mean 0 drops. It means you have "base" drops.

Direcrit I have an old thread on this subject, full of ideas; Link Those ideas and animations are amazing!!! emotion_jawdrop I'm so glad you're here. My favourite has to be the magnet one. crying DMSing has very starkly brought out how annoying knockback can be. It's a rule that everyone breaks. It's just too tempting for people when they see that rage bar fully lit up and so they fire away with an RR4 Hack. lol So a reverse of the above would've been a godsend in DMS! It would be nice though if it came in two forms - one as a ranged attack ring with a feeble pull that increases with rage(anti-Solar) and the other as a cc ring that can work on multiple opponents with increased rage(anti-bump/scaredy). Althoguh for the latter, I wish they'd just fix the damn taunt ring. confused

Quote: I'm hesitant to talk about ring suggestions without noting that this thread is twelve full pages of genius. There's a huge wealth of information there, and nearly every single post is worth reading. 3nodding
In terms of relevant content, there's a section of the OP relating to attack rings, but I'd still vehemently suggest reading the whole thread, as there are surely other relevant suggestions tucked away therein...
It has a section on buff rings, too, I promise... sweatdrop
