Apparently, Cistal was made from earth mixed with blood from all races. Visiting a pack, Tes becomes attached to Fife and Cistal, so he leaves with them when they move on. At the last pack Cistal visited, she meet Enki. Enki was her betrothed, he is 17 and a changer (shape-shifter). Enki had known about Cistal since the beginning and had been told to secretly keep her safe on her travels. Now that he has officially meet Cistal, he plans to live with her. Disguised in his fur-form, Enki travels with Cistal to the Academy, where Cistal stops to learn more about her powers.
