I keep seeing people using features on their websites that are not W3C compliant (aka colored scroll-bars). I am wondering how many people here actually follow them? Don't know what i'm talking about? http://www.w3.org

I do most of the time, but its not like I'm always checking to make sure. I just make sure my webpages are viewable by all browsers.

They are really good to follow and most of the time I try. I agree with Tekno that making sure it is viewable by all browsers is important. Some browsers I can't help, Opera for example is way behind, but that is because they are not up to full W3C compliance with CSS and XML/XSL/XPATH/XQUERY.
Being in full compliance is nice though.

I don't really know a huge amount about standards, so I don't intentionally code to suit them sweatdrop My sites work in all broswers though, and the Moz extension I have says that they are complaint, and thats generally good enough for me. Its something I've always intended to look into, but always get distracted from.
We're actually looking for someone to write an article about W3C standards for the next issue of the e-zine biggrin
I don't usually put in coloured scrollbars, since I use Mozilla and can't see them anyway. I don't really have any problem with them though, even if they aren't compliant, so long as they are easy enough to see and use.

even though i set my doctype to html .. i try to keep my coding style alligned with the xHtml standards... this ensures that there will be less errors in the page... if only i kept my spelling correct ~_~
