I drank greedily from the petal-shoot plants that I had found near our small camp, and felt satisfied when I had felt myself becoming replenished. I opened my backpack and finished the last of the meat that Tao had given me, but I was still starving. I felt like my stomach was splitting open down the middle and pride was the only thing keeping me from asking Tao for his food. That was no matter, I had found some nice looking worms to use for fishing, and that is what I would do.

We had decided to stay at our camp for one more night, and although no tributes had died, I felt like we were alone out here. All was quiet in the arena for now. I figured the game-makers must be giving us a break from all the fighting that occurred these last few days. However, since the numbers were so low, I think that me and Tao should make a move, and attack another district. It would gain support for us, and I was sure that we'd be left alone from a gamemaker attack if we managed to take out another tribute. I hated thinking like this, but I was sick and tired of this arena, and I wanted to return home with Tao. I just wanted it to be over.

Tao was taking a short nap at the moment, from having to stay up as watch last night, so I wandered around the area for a bit, trying to spot anything that would be of help. A flash of blue caught my line of sight and after examining the source of the color, I realized that it was a small backpack. Approaching cautiously, I picked it up, jumping slightly when I heard something clank against one of the zippers. I then realized that it was a metal pot for cooking. It was small, but it would serve whatever purpose that I wanted in terms of cooking.

After searching through its contents, I managed to find two carrots, and two energy bars as well as an empty water bottle and a blanket. In one of the other pockets I found two bandages, which could come in handy later on. I have yet to use one of my own, and I guess I was lucky for that. Another tribute had probably dropped their backpack while running from someone or something and had never bothered to go back for it. They must have been scared. That thought made me nervous, but a familiar plant caught my eye. Mint. I picked a couple leaves from the plant and stuck them in my mouth, quickly becoming horrified that they did not taste like mint and dissolved in my mouth. I tried spitting out what had gone into my mouth but I knew that I had swallowed some, for I instantly felt sickly.

I rushed back to the cave, realizing that I had eaten poisonpetal by mistake. I tossed my new findings to the ground, most likely waking poor Tao up from his nap. I dug through my larger pack on the ground and found what I was looking for, barely managing to keep down last night's dinner. I found what I was looking for, and pulled the antidote out of my backpack, quickly injecting the needle into my arm, and pushing the liquid into my veins. Relief flooded through me when I felt the heavy effects of the antidote working it's magic. Thankfully the Capitol made such advanced medicines that it kept people from dying from plants like the one I had just ingested.

I jumped at Tao's approach and let out a shaky laugh, not realizing how spooked I was about possibly being poisoned to death earlier. "Yeah, I'm fine. I was just stupid, and ate something bad. I should be alright now." I said to my teammate with a nervous smile, and nodded at what he had suggested. This place was giving me the creeps, and the sooner I left it, the better.

I remained sitting still for a few moments more, allowing myself to feel comforted by Tao's hand on my shoulder, and waiting until the last of my dizziness went away. I couldn't believe that I had done something so stupid as to eat a bad plant. I shouldn't have tested my luck after finding those items that would definitely come in handy, but I had been desperate for something else to bring back. After all, how long were two carrots and two energy bars going to last? Not very long because two of the carrots and one of the bars had already been eaten.

"I think the north is as good of a place as any, I just want to get out of here. I don't like it." I said to him, feeling a little better than I had earlier. I quickly gathered my supplies and packed it into the one large backpack that I carried around, and pulled it onto my backpack, waiting for Tao to get ready as well. "You ready?" I asked with a smile, and once he gave me confirmation, we began our trek towards the unknown.

Dottie finally collapsed at the edge of the rain forest, the sounds of animals muffled by the ringing in her ears. She didn't wake up for a good while, pieces of leaves sticking to her side from the blood that had dried. "Ugh..." She muttered, barely sitting up, dizzily, she dug through her stuff, glad that she'd got the medical kit she'd recently acquired. She tried to feel bitter towards the tributes who had attacked her, but she couldn't. They'd only done what they had to. She couldn't just wait for everyone to kill each other. It would've been a stupid plan from the beginning. She sheepishly applied the bandaging to herself, using a lot of her medicines. She had to get back to full health. After applying the bandaging, she ate a few things and took a few sips of her canteen, doing her best not to be greedy with her food supply. She'd forage when she felt better. She surprisingly sort of liked the rain forest, it seemed to have it's own natural flow, violent, but natural. She leaned her head against a tree and listened to the sound of birds, monkeys and just anything else in that matter.

Dottie hadn't been doing much other than foraging and that gamemaker attack. She remember how fast she ran, almost as fast as when the tributes attacked her. Today, she had been lounging under a tree, taking a few sips of water and eating some of the monkey she'd killed. Although Dottie wasn't one for game, the meat was okay, and she ate anyway, she sort of had to preserve her other supplies. She was pretty sure she had enough water left for a few days, so she wasn't going to worry about that very much. So She simply sat there peacefully until she looked North, and her eyes just about popped out of her skull.

Okay, this, was definately the fastest she'd run in awhile, grabbing her stuff she jolted towards the safest place from water. The mountains. It'd been the first place she'd went in the Arena, and taking a guess, it'd be the last place too.
