Eli May was living a normal life while training using her mother(scythe). Her parents would complete each mission they had and had almost made Rina May as a death scythe until her father, Jay May, got attacked by a kishin while doing some extra training to get ready to fight the witch. Eli was at the house watching t.v. as her mother carried her father to the house. Eli was 12 when her father got attacked., her mother laid her father down on the couch and made Eli go to her room for safety. As her mother helplessly tried healing her husband, the same kishin who attacked Jay went to their house and attacked Rina. Rina was weak without her meister, she tried fighting back but it was hopeless. Eli heard noises as she was going to her room, she then went back and saw as the kishin killed her mother and her father who was still injuried trying to move away from the kishin. She was scared and didn't know what to do, she then went to hide somewhere in the house, the kishin saw as Eli ran and looked back at her father and lefted him be. The kishin wasn't done with his business with them, but he decided to finish his business with Eli instead of her father. As Eli turned 16, she lefted the house as her father was healing from the injuries 4 years ago, and went to DWMA her father told her about. She told her father as she left that she will kill the kishin that killed her mother and his wife.
