Stoutland
Hello, everyone. Rishiki, the normal gym leader here with this week's PotW- its my first one too. As such, I decided to do a normal type. Let's learn more about this fluffy Pokemon, Stoutland.

"This extremely wise Pokémon excels at rescuing people stranded at sea or in the mountains. " -White Pokedex

Resists
none

Weaknesses
Fighting:*2

Unaffected
Ghost

Base Stats
HP: 85
Attack: 100
Defense: 90
Sp.A: 45
Sp.D: 90
Speed: 80

Abilities
Intimidate: Lowers opponents attack stat by one stage when a Pokémon with Intimidate switches into battle. It affects all opponents in double and triple battles.

Sand Rush: Doubles speed in sand storm and makes the Pokemon immune to the effects of sand storm.

DW-Scrappy: Ghost types are able to be hit by damage deal Normal and Fighting moves dealt by the user.

A rather decent attack, average defenses and an even more average speed stat. With Intimidate, Stoutland can last a little longer against physical attackers. Scrappy is a neat little ability but both Miltank and Kangaskhan make much better use for it. While sand rush makes Stoutland fit right in a sandstorm team, the speed boost giving him a chance to survive longer.

Moves:

Retaliate: A move which doubles its power from 70 to 140 if one of your Pokemon has fainted the previous turn. Which is an inconsistent and risky strategy since you'll have to lose a Pokemon to get its boost, but its a nice surprise against an unsuspecting opponent. Plus, who doesn't love a STAB move.

Ice/Fire/Thunder Fang: Who doesn't love the fangs? Stoutland is able to learn all three, talk about type coverage.

Wild Charge: Another electric move- with better accuracy and power than thunder fang. Although, the recoil might make you that a second to think about putting this move on your Stoutland.

Return: The bread and butter move of all Normal types, or at least to me it is. A move based on a Pokemon's happiness. So the more this Big-hearted Pokemon loves you, the stronger the move becomes. And its STAB.

Pursuit: The only "increased priority"- in that if a Pokemon switches out, this move hits before they do- move this Poke has. Plus, having a pursuiter is never a bad thing.

Crunch: A dark type move with the power of 80 and a 20% chance of lowering your foes defense. Crunch-or pursuit if you like that move better- can work wonders on any ghost types that'll appear to challenge this normal type.

We've learned several things today. Stoutland becomes faster in Sandstorm. He's a physical Pokemon, through and through. And he's oh so cuddable- I mean, kick butt awesome. Yeah, totally meant that. Adding a life orb, or a choice band if you like to be trapped into a move, will further increase this Pokemon's attack- making it a threat in the sand. His sand in speed is a whooping 518. His attack- choice banded, mind you- is 492.

So what are you waiting for? This Pokemon is perfect for your sandstorm team. What? Don't have a sandstorm team? Then go make one, you silly Magikarp.

Stoutland is one of the best revenge killers in the Sand. Slap on Retaliate and Sand Rush, and you've got yourself a monster that is sure to put a dent in most things.
