"Well, yeah, I like to think so," Tennessee said. "But I guess it's like that for everyone, right? I mean, since we're all part of the Union and all. Takin' care of each other is important." Even though the states hadn't always been the best at remembering they were all on the same team.

Cracking his fingers one by one, with a soft smile on his face nodding in agreement, "Exactly. We're always there for each other, aren't we?" That was how it was supposed to be, after all - Wisconsin thought to himself. Perhaps it wasn't just him that felt those personal feelings, but what he saw otherwise.
It was so alien to him, "Any memories that stick out for ya?" Interesting how Wisconsin kept himself out of the topic as much as he could when it wasn't about his feats and abilities, "Cause - well ya sound almost like a real family down there..."
Then he laughed catching himself, "Well, I guess that's the point right? We're all on the same side in the end like ya said!"

"We are a family," Tennessee said as if it was the most obvious thing to him in the world. He tilted his head to the side. "Maybe not in the same way humans are and we don't all call each other siblings, I guess, but we're somethin' like a family."
"As for memories... I suppose I have the most with Kentucky," he mused. "We've always been together. No matter how tough things have gotten Kentucky's always with me. I've had a lot'a good times with others, but he's the one who always sees me through the worst of it. It's weird. I think those are the moments I remember as the most important even though things were bad..."
"What about you?" Tennessee asked. "Do you have any special memories?"
(Bleh! Finals week has me a little busy.)

"I suppose it's not like that at all, and from that perspective I guess we're a family up here too," Wisconsin said with some cheerfulness as he tried to make a small spin to that half truth.
"Yeah, there's always one state that ya are more connected to than any other huh?" There was a small nervous laugh, from Wisconsin "I have some special memories with a lot of my people but you're probably referring to another state huh?"
Cracking his fingers, out of habit he replied with an answer, "Minnesota, to tell ya the truth. Probably the closest but ... they prefer to hang out with others more which I can kind of understand." After that he did a small stretch, "I can understand that they're busy though. That's a fact of life."

"I guess that's true..." Tennessee mused. "Seems like everyone's a lot busier these days, too. But Minnesota does seem like a nice guy. I've never really talked much with him." Really the only Midwestern states aside from Missouri he talked to on a regular basis were Ohio and Illinois. Both of them primarily because they were tied to the same river ways and they were Kentucky's neighbors so he saw them every so often when hanging out there.
"Maybe Minnesota doesn't come here as often 'cause you're in hidin' and he doesn't want to tip people off?" the Volunteer State mused. It made perfect sense to him since that would be his primary concern. He was oddly accepting of Wisconsin's need for secrecy and seemed to be on board with the whole keeping a low profile thing even if it was foreign and odd to him.

Wisconsin chuckled at that suggestion, that could be a possibility in reality while continued his conversation with the other state. "Minnesota is a great person, really..." was there a hint of some stirring emotion there? Nothing like the disgust like he held towards Illinois.
"It's not like I don't enjoy his company or anything, it's just --" a small laugh again, "I'm not sure if they would want me around or not visiting them all too often." Even if they often did go into long good byes when it was time for him to go - not moving from the couch, staying for a good half an hour longer, finally getting up to speak by the door, and finally outside but still continuing to talk. It always seemed that way with Minnesota, perhaps it was because their equal tendency to be so long winded.
Wisconsin cleared his throat, "I can trust Minnesota more than others, and that says a lot."
