I am having a hard time finding work. and i know it is at the interview process. i dont know if its because my interviewers were being superficial or what, but i dont think our current system of getting employed is as effective as it could be.
First off with the application process, you should give the potential employee a test. I was told what you practice in school you practice in real life and i am yet to take a test to get anywhere outside of a school/education environment (except for SCS tests). Then i think if you pass the test you should interview to see if your a dbag or not. if not then you get the job. It seems like people either only want certain types of people working there (superficial) or they dont want to have to worry about any disciplinary procedures. i have been fired a couple times from a place from a first offence. I didnt get written up, i didnt get a lecture, i got suspended permanently for the first time i "spoke back" to my supervisor. In my defense, she was being rude, disrespectful, and talking down at me very loudly causing a scene in front of everyone. stressed i just told her using her own words that she was being unprofessional by "demonstrating a lack of self control". BAM i was fired. Yeah i know keep your head down and your mouth shut. but employers should not be like this. I have had jobs where the supervisor went off on me and i got sent home. when i came back the next day the manager spoke with me calmly about the issue and we resolved everything and i went back to work. whats wrong with doing things that way? the job i have now, the first time i was put on the register (i was not properly trained) my drawer was off by over 150$ under eek . i was scared to death i thought i was fired for sure. but they said "no. your not fired. it was probably an accident cause it was your first time. we will make sure you are properly trained next time." i could have cried. later i found out there where 2 coupon buttons so i was using the wrong one most of the time sweatdrop . Maybe its just my immediate region but geez. here is the kick in the pants: Im not making quite enough money to live off of at this job. so im supposed to go leave this awesome job where the employees are respected and treated fairly gonk . and i have had plenty of jobs that i know i qualified for but for whatever unknown reason stressed (cause its not like you get a review on your interview . Something else we should consider doing) i am not given a chance.
 im sorry if i got off topic but i think i have said everything.
To summarize:
Steps to get a job: 1)fill out application and pass qualification test 2)speak with employer to show your not a dbag 3)get hired
Idea to adopt: Review of your interview. Why your interview sucked or SPECIFICALLY why you personally were not chosen for the job.

key points to point out to you:
background checks, you can get an interview but most places will go find your old places of work and call them. Even if they don't ask for them they still have the right to do them.
getting fired, your right to get fired. There is no reason to talk to a manager like that. there is a reason why they are above you, and you just have to sit there and take whatever they say to you.
you can get a review of your interview. you just call and if they say that you didn't get the job, you have the right to ask why.

when i asked why i didnt get the job they didnt have any detailed explanation. they just said some one else was better. they didnt tell me what areas i lacked in comparison

that is fine. the jobs i got fired for were a long time ago and are not on my list of recent jobs.

for the record, when the general manager left that store, she got promoted for a couple weeks and got fired herself for "causing a disturbance" in front of a customer. she probably should not have made shift supervisor in the first place.

You are the apple...
Personally I think you should be emailed by the employer when they look at your resume/application saying whether you did or didnt get the job. It bugs me to no end sitting around waiting and never getting a call for a job interview, at the least. I don't know if they even looked at my application or not.

Ah must not have caught that part. Well I figure with the amount of applications places get, it'd be rather hard to respond to each one individually tell why they did or didnt get the job.
