High-functioning Marshmallow

Benedek couldn't help a small quirk of his lips as she said that. It had been awhile since someone had said something to entertain him – or maybe this melon junk was stronger than he thought. Either way, he was amused at the idea of surprising her. He finished his second shot before he looked back under the counter in search of something to mix up. He didn't know anything about bartending – he was more the sort to just drink whatever came out of the bottle and leave it at that. He didn't get deterred easily by the initial taste of anything, knowing full well his tastebuds would numb after awhile anyway. But, he did know how to stir and pour, which was enough to make her something. “I didn't decide.” He snorted as he spat that out at her, going quiet the second after with an irritated breath. “The boss insisted I do it. I don't normally take to that 'superior' bullshit, but she's a Sonata.” Any resident of the Town should know what that means, so he figured it would be explanation enough. He grabbed a bottle of bourbon, a sweet wine he had tried once before, and a bottle of Kahlua before coming back up from behind the pour. Another shot of the melon liqueur and he was carelessly pouring the various drinks together in the woman's glass, “What's your name again? Forgot it.” Maybe a tad rude, but, well, Benedek wasn't paying attention to his words now that the woman knew why he was there. He doubted any false charm would be taken with pleasure now. He slid her the shot glass after he had finished stirring it with a spoon he had located among the variety of glasses as he waited for her answer, going back to sipping calmly at his own drink.

xxxTɑliɑ Vɑlhɑlxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx»» foreign scientist ►►Talia was a little distraught when the man snorted at her. She wasn't sure how she should approach that reaction so her body went into automode. Her lips came onto a false grin as she listened with her blue eyes searching his face.
Sonata was not a name she was very familiar with; although, Talia hadn't been outside her lab for several weeks so the island society was still uncertain to her. Perhaps the girl had missed out on more than she thought when hidding away beneath the city. That, or simply didn't care to really ask.
When he asked her, her name, the scientist looked at him with a slightly sarcastic stare as if asking him really? It looked like Talia may have failed out again in regards to a guy, but that was her luck, wasn't it? With a shrug answering her own inside question, Talia answered, "Elizabeth," If he didn't remember it the first time, perhaps fooling him for a bit may be fun, "But just call me Liz." With a small smirk that was a nervous reaction from lying, Talia took the drink Benedek made and pressed it to her lips before swigging it backwards. It tasted horrendous. All her features scrunched together in a look of disgust as her hand dropped the glass back onto the table. Bending forward, Talia coughed into her hand looked up teary eyes to Benedek, "Okay, you surprised me. But what the hell was that?"◄◄ OOC:

Benedek nodded at her name, being a little more in tune to her conversation now that the affects of the alcohol had begun to set in. It was why he was so keen on getting himself smashed for this date to work – he always felt more at ease and listening when drunk. Elizabeth – eh, it wasn't a bad name. About as formal as Benedek was – god, he hated his name. “Got it, Liz.” He added just in case that nod hadn't been recognized – she seemed to have her eyes on the drink rather than him, anyway, so it was just natural he thought she hadn't seen it. He watched her as she took a sip, curious himself how it turned out and vaguely wondering if he could turn to bartending instead of gardening – but, her face got rid of any career change ideas he had.
He quirked a smirk as she started to cough, her eyes watering at the mix. He took the glass with his free hand, taking a swig of it himself before he replied to her. “Like I know? I'm not a bartender, Liz.” He pointed out with some amusement before sliding the glass back to her, “It's not bad – just different.” Okay, no, it really tasted horrible. Benedek could stand it better due to the sweetness, but.. if it didn't taste like fermented cough syrup, he wasn't sure what would. “You shouldn't waste it – why don't you finish it?” He said half-seriously, taking a sip of his own to try to mellow out the flavor of her drink.
(( Sorry for taking so long! ;w; Midterms SERIOUSLY took up a lot of my time with panic-driven studying. 9w9 But, I'm back? =D ))

xxxTɑliɑ Vɑlhɑlxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx»» foreign scientist ►►'Not a bartender? He got that one right.' Talia mused as her eyes watched him take a sip of it. he didn't seem to be as affected as she was by it's horrid taste. Perhaps she was just weak when it came to flavours, which could very well be a possibility. Still, as he told her to finish her, Talia couldn't help but raise her eyes brows and look at him with questioning sarcasm. The girl moved her attention back onto the terrible drink, sizing it up for a moment. She even went to far as to pick it up and swirl the contents in the glass. Slowly, Talia began to approach is question, "How about this. I'll finish it if you answer me a question." Her blue eyes began to wander over to meet her company's as a small smirk came onto her lips, "Why did you pick here? Can't stand me sober?" She joked with a smirk on her lips. The question was serious however. It would be interesting to hear his answer at the least.
