This is one of the most neglected and necessary parts of Christianity is diving into the darkness with in. If we look as Christ's entry into the world as speaking on multiple levels, then Christ's entry should also include the world within ourselves. I do not know if it's culture or hardwiring but we seem inclined to want to "hide" and suppress feelings and desires rather than confronting them. Ironically we are taught in some religious settings that suppressing and hiding is somehow confronting them. So if suppression and hiding is not confronting, then what is? So we will leave this to discussion:

How do you bring Christ into your "world"?
What do we do with the things revealed when the light shines on them?
What does it mean to you to confront things within yourself?

Imagine looking into a dimly lit mirror. You can make out some of your reflection but not all of it. You can see things that aren't there that the shadows cast over your reflection. The shadows also hide parts of your reflection as well. It seems odd but it seems that to some looking in a mirror in a dimly lit room is ideal rather than looking at it with the lights on.

Never Ending Story: One of the quests that Atreyu had to go through was looking in the Magic Mirror. The trial of the mirror was that it reflected what was in one's heart.
