Syous gave a small nod when Allistar answered his question. Frankly, he too didn't know the likelihood of a pregnancy between a Vampire and Angel. They had talked about this very briefly in the past, though not at a great length since it was a pretty heavy topic to think about. Nontheless, it was happening and he couldn't have been happier. He couldn't help but wonder how the rest of her family would react, Syous hoped that at the very least there wouldn't be any voiced objections to it. As Allistar spoke again, Syous blinked lightly and looked over to the kitchen. Now that the topic of food had been raised, he did have to admit to himself that he hadn't eaten anything since breakfast. "Something to eat does sound like a good idea...but if you're thinking about making something by yourself then forget it." He said happily, looking back to Allistar and offering a warm smile. "I've gotten far too rusty in the kitchen for my own good, plus an extra set of hands will get it done quicker." He said, standing up slowly and extending his hand out to her.

Syous grinned lightly at Allistar when she accepted his terms for dinner tonight, letting out a small chuckle when she subtley teased him. When the question of what to actually eat arose, Syous paused for just a second as they entered the kitchen, he couldn't help but admit to himself that he wouldn't have had to make the decision if he just let her cook something by herself, though he was still quite adamant in his desire to help out. Giving her hand a small squeeze before letting go and heading towards the fridge, he opened it and peered inside for a few seconds. "Something simple would be good...beef stirfry perhaps?" He suggested, eyes darting around from one ingredient to another. Even if Syous felt like something a little more complicated, he wouldn't ever make it with Allistar on a night that she had to work. Granted, she may be given some leniency now because of the pregnancy, but it would still make him feel guilty about making her late

Just as Syous was reaching in to grab the beef from the fridge, a slender hand had slipped in first and taken it before he had a chance to, it didn't take a genius to figure out who the hand had belonged to. Looking up at Allistar and grinning back at her, he stood up and headed to one of the cupboards and opened it. "This one should do it." He said, pulling out one of the medium-sized pans. They hardly ever used the larger ones, mostly because it was just the two of them, but there was occaisions when it was useful to make enough to have leftovers for the next day. As he began to set up, he blinked slightly and looked over his shoulder at Allistar when she asked about the gender of their first child. Thinking for a moment, Syous eventually shrugged. "Hard to say, we never did ask if they were our only children." He said, smiling lightly in amusement, it would be anyone's guess at this stage. "If you had the power to choose though, would you rather our eldest be a girl or boy?" He asked, figuring that since the topic of children was pleasant, there's wasn't really any hurry to switch over to the next one they had in mind.

{looking back, my fault for somehow forgetting to quote you xP Anyway, honestly? I'm surprised it took her as long as it did to ban me, given how she handled the whole thing. I probably shouldn't be giving up names, but she followed up the banning by posting this. It should be noted that not a single threat was made against her, plus this whole ordeal spurred out of her blowing something way out of proportion >.<}

As the two continued with preparations for cooking, Syous thought for a moment over his own preference briefly before giving a small shrug. "Same I guess, it wouldn't really bother me either way..." He said, looking over his shoulder to Allistar and smiling lightly. "Though a girl first would probably be more of a surprise." He added, hoping that he was right in remembering that their son had been the oldest of the two that had visited. Some days his memory wasn't always the best, especially thinking back as far as their highschool days were now. Thinking back, there weren't a whole lot of memories from Reed's that Syous kept close hold of, and the ones that he did were more often than not ones that he shared with Allistar, meaning if he were to recount them, his girlfriend would know what he was talking about if he were off by a detail or two. He couldn't help but chuckle lightly in his thoughts, sometimes it just seemed like he was turning into an old man already, but that would be a very long time away. It was in that thought that another question came to mind. "I wonder what sort of balance between our species the kids would have." He said, setting his gaze back down to his preparations. "I mean, I doubt that they're going to be exactly Half-Vampire, Half-Angel, one gene set is probably going to be stronger than the other." Though he knew little about genetics, Syous didn't struggle with the concept, so it at least made sense to him. Like with gender, however, it probably wasn't going to change how he felt about the children, it was just another point of curiosity for the father-to-be.

{My turn to sa sorry for the wait, as mentioned in the chat thread, lots of things got in the way, sorry >.< As for the 'Captain', I have serious doubts given that stuff she's been doing in the last week :/ }

Even as the days of work seemed to grow longer, the number of people needing medical attention seemingly increasing with each passing week, Syous couldn't have been in a better mood than he had been over the passing days as he made his way back home. Co-workers had pondered this sudden mood lift when it was first noticeable, jokingly stating things like he's prescribed himself some 'medication to lift the spirits' and so on. That, however, was far from the truth, which was quite simply that he and his beloved girlfriend, Allistar, were now parents. Though Allistar going into labor had caused Syous to have a mild panic attack in the waiting room, forever wondering how the two were, whether or not there were any complications, his mind was just coming up with every possible scenario in which something went wrong. Thankfully, Syous could relax once he was allowed to see them. Allistar, his loving girlfriend of several years and mother to his firstborn, Rhys, a child of both Angelic and Vampiric heritage. Today, however, Syous was beaming even more than usual.

Upon arriving home, Syous did his normal 'enter the apartment before calling out' routine, but the second half was left out for today, instead replaced by the distinct sound of the door closing softly. So far, Rhys seemed to be the type to be asleep around this time, which suited Syous just fine as he found his two loved ones on the couch, approaching and kneeling beside Allistar. "Hey there..." He whispered, pressing his lips to her cheek in greeting before gently running his hand through the baby boy's small patch of hair. "Not stirring up any trouble today I hope." He said light-heartedly.
