xoxo Ai was born as the youngest child to a slightly wealthy family. Being the youngest she always been expected to try and live up to her older siblings. Her parents were big on things like literature and the fine and performing arts and hoped that each of their children would express talent in at least one of these areas. Ai, along with her older two siblings were put through a variety of lessons and classes involving their parents interest and were also expected to do well in school. Amaya had began to show promise in acting, much to her parents delight, and Kohaku had shown interest in literature. Of course, Ai's parents expected that she would also be promising. They had first put Ai in ballet lessons, but she was clumsy and would often forget the steps that were taught and her parents eventually pulled her from the class. Her older brother had tried to help get her interested in literature like he was but it bored her, she didn't want to read old books, she wanted to play!
xoxo It wasn't until her parents saw her sitting at the piano, that they thought to have her take piano lessons. While Ai did like the piano she was reluctant to actually take lessons but she couldn't say no to her parents. She ended up being decent at it and could have been better if she actually took time to practice at home. While her parents had pushed her to practice at first they eventually gave up. As she got a bit older Ai could tell that her parents were disappointed and it began to hurt her as well. She later decided to invest more time into practicing, and and actually began to enjoy it, maybe because she was self-motivated to do so this time, instead of being pushed into by someone else. While her parents were proud of the effort Ai was now investing they didn't really think it would last, and they were pretty surprised when Ai told them she wanted to be a composer. However, much too Ai's disappointment they didn't seem to be as pleased with her as they were with her older siblings.
xoxo When she was sixteen her older sister Amaya announced that she would be leaving the city to take a break from acting and to begin writing her own plays. The young woman thought that living in a small town would be more quiet and therefore easier to write in. Upon hearing that her older sister was moving Ai declared that she was going to join her. She had lived in the city her whole life and going somewhere new sounded exciting! There was also the fact that she wouldn't have to worry about her parents expectations as much if she were away. Amaya was not quite fond of the idea at first but after much pestering she finally gave in to Ai, and their new life in Nirvani began.
xoxo Nirvani proved to be quite interesting and Ai enjoyed exploring the town whenever she could. Amaya had usually tried to keep her cooped up inside the house so she wouldn't have to worry about her and Ai used this time to practice on the piano and to play with her pet pig waffles. It was about a couple of years later that Ai graduated and then returned to the city to begin college. It was then that she gave up on her former dream of becoming a composer and decided that she wanted to teach music instead. It was a few years after returning to Nirvani that her older sister decided to go back to the city and start acting again. While her family had expected that Ai would follow Amaya back to the city she chose to stay in Nirvani instead.
