Sara had lived in the forest for some time now. She had come to know the place like the back of her hand, she knew which paths to follow to get to her Ger, which rivers were the cleanest and where the animals could be found. She knew from the sky if it was going to rain, she knew from the dirt when it was best to plant seeds. She had come to love her home, she had always appreciated nature, but never felt as close to it as she did now. Of course she still lived with Ghost, he was a fully grown wolf, big enough to rival the size of his father Nori, his fur was still sheet white and needed to be washed every couple of days. He might be a wild animal, however that did not mean Sara did not pamper him, he was after all, part of the family and for the most part her closest companion, the two slept together, ate together and sometimes even bathed together. She swore she could tell what he was thinking at times too.
The large canine ran through the trees, even though Sara took care of him she did not feed him, instead he was left to hunt for his own game and she often ran with him, after all he always seemed to track down animals with far more skill than her thanks to that sharp nose of his. By midday he had brought down what seemed to be a young stag who's horns were still stumps, Sara had never tried deer meet before, a hunting trip usually provided fish, rabbits and ever so often some kind of bird. This was the first time the wolf had caught something so... big, she hoped he did not start going after fully grown deer or bears, she would not be able to carry one of them home. I guess that meant he was getting better. "Ghost, back." She called as she approached the animal, she had left her hat and cape at the Ger, it was much easier to move around without them, besides the liked to feel the wind blowing her hair. The conduit knelled down besides the animal, preformed a small blessing, it seemed that Ghost has took out its throat, now all she had to do was drag it back home so she could cut it up. This would be enough to feed them both for a couple of days, it seemed like another one of her famous, throw everything in a pot, stews was in order!
Sara was a terrible cook... anything that required any proper culinary skill was just beyond her expertise, she tried to make rice-balls once... she could not get the hang of it, somehow they ended up looking like... well. A bit pile or rice. Burnt rice at that.
The conduit tied up the stag's legs to keep the animal in a neat almost rectangular package, it would make it easier to carry. She did not mind getting bloody, in her profession she had seen enough blood for it not to bother her, the blood was not what got you, it was the screams, that was something you never got used to. That and the eyes, dead eyes, there was nothing like them. The wolf continued to wonder around as Sara picked up the creature and threw it over her shoulders, it was not fully grown but man it was heavy. Heavier than she thought, where the heck was Bataar when you needed him? The trip back home was going to be long. She would have to visit the hotspring tonight to sooth her aching shoulders, she could already feel them yelling at her. The creatures warm blood ran down her back, lovely. Just lovely. She sighed, okay this was when she missed living in a house with servants.
It was then that she noticed something, or someone. Over the past years she had gotten very good at sensing aura's and there was one very close by, one she did not recognise. She tilted her head and then looked behind her in the direction in where it was. "Hello? Anybody back there?" She asked blinking as long strands of teal hair fell over her shouldr. It was not often she got visitors this deep in the forest, this was wild territory a place where most people did not venture or so she thought.

For some reason on that day, Xue Ning had been insistent on going out for a flight around the woods. The barn owl had been nagging at Mu Ying all day, hooting, screeching, nipping him on his fins.
“Okay, okay” he tried to cajole her, but there was no attempt to veil the tone of frustration he had in his voice. Mu Ying had no idea what had gotten his dear friend so excited about, and it wasn't even night time yet. “Don't you need some sleep too?” he reprimanded the owl. Unfortunately for him, Xue Ning didn't seem to give a hoot. Mu Ying would just have to relent as always.
The bickering couple left the household shortly thereafter, heading for the nearby woods. Stopping in front of the entrance to the forest, Mu Ying raised his hand out and Xue Ning hopped on to her new perch. “Get back by dusk, remember that we are on night shift today.” The owl hooted happily in reply, nodding her head so enthusiastically it looked comical. Then Mu Ying wouldn't have a choice but to smile. With a lift of his hand, Mu Ying sent Xue Ning flying off into the forest, watching proudly as she made silent flight through the branches. Even in the day, that owl would be a formidable hunter. For a moment, the young man was going to head back to his residence and catch his afternoon nap but he stopped himself, turning back to look at the forest.
It looked so different in the day.
Mu Ying furrowed his brow in face of this dilemma. The eventual decision he came to involved him treading on the thick leaf litter than lined the forest floor, following in the general direction of where Xue Ning had went. He wouldn't be regretting his decision as he strode along, taking in the scenery around him. It was beautiful.
He had journeyed into the woods far more than he had expected, the surroundings were becoming increasingly unfamiliar. Perhaps that was the cue to head back, not that he would have gotten lost or anything (he could always count on Xue Ning to lead the way). A call from a short distance stopped him in his tracks, however. A young woman's voice, he discerned. Mu Ying contemplated not replying lest he was about to be told off for stepping into another's territory, but the sound of her voice held no ill-intent. Or at least, that was what he thought so. Stepping out to reveal himself, Mu Ying spotted the young woman who had issued the call. He was lightly surprised to see her carrying quite a large kill, which he had to assume was mostly probably hunted down by the large wolf by her side. The style of clothing – Mongol, her general appearance and demeanor spoke Soul Conduit. Nevermind that for now though.
“Miss?” he replied, taking a step forward before pausing to stare at the stag she was quite apparently having some trouble carrying.
“Could I help you with that?” he offered, albeit a little cautiously.

Sara tilted her head to the side slightly as the unfamiliar face revealed itself to her. Sara had lived in Lunaria for quite a few years and it was not often she met someone she did not know, especially in this part of the forest. Not many people ventured into the wild, Lunarian's tended to be quite polished and noble creatures, they lived in a world of beauty, silk and gold - not of mud and twigs. The man who had come into view had long fine hair and was wearing clothes which suggested he was of the upper class's. Peasants often wore shades of brown, yet none wore clothes as detailed as this mans. The mass amount of layers and stitching meant he was from a family who did not have to really worry about money. So what was such a person doing this deep in the woods? It was curious, curious indeed.
Sara's ghostly eyes locked onto him, unmoving, unblinking, one hidden behind her thick oil coloured hair. Even though she could see perfectly well many mistook her gaze as a sign of blindness. After all her pupils looked like they were clouded over. When he spoke she snapped out of whatever daze she was in at the time, a small smile creeping onto her lips. "I would not want you to ruin your clothes, blood is not the easiest thing to wash out. Thank you for the offer though." She bowed her head slightly, her uneven layers of hair falling over her shoulder.
Ghost's yellow eyes looked up at her, his tongue licking her hips where the crimson liquid had dripped down. She did not even notice him going it at the time. She was too used to him being around her, she had lived most of her life in the presence of wolves. So much so she saw them as human, so much so that Ghost had come to treat the girl as part of his pack.
"You seem to have caught me at a peculiar time, are you lost sir? These woods are quite complicated, especially when the sun starts to set." She went on to ask, rearranging the wolves kill on her back before cocking her head to the side. "My home is not too far away from here, if it pleases you, we could head back and I could show you the path. I even have some tea if you are interested." She stated with a small nod, she was not really used to having visitors but she would feel bad if she just left him in the middle of nowhere, especially if he did not know his way back. "Oh, how rude of me. I am Sara and this is Ghost."

Her gaze was a little unstartling, unstartling in the way that it looked so uncannily similar to how Xue Ning would gaze at things. That look wouldn't be mistaken for blindness on him. Mu Ying raised his hand to object but paused at what she said next and then relented. It would seem that this woman has seen much. The young lunarian returned the bow reverently.
“Lost? Not quite,” he smiled, raising his hand and whistling. There was a flash of white from within the trees and not long after, the graceful owl had swooped down to perch on his arm without so much as making a sound. “These pair of eyes will guide me home,” he explained, and as if on cue, the owl turned to face Sara and Ghost to stare at them with her bright, wide eyes. “I do admit that these woods are quite foreign to me though, and I would most gladly accept your kind offer to show me the right path back.” Certainly, his speedy return would be most desirable lest the worst were to happen and he would have to neglect his duties. “Please do, however, not feel the need to burden yourself entertaining this foolish man; you do seem to be rather busy. But if it is rude of me to decline your most gracious invitation, I would be glad to stay for some tea.” He paused as she introduced herself.
“Mu Ying, and this is Xue Ning, pleased to make your acquaintance.”
The young man dipped his head once again, one could never be too polite. Xue Ning however, was a little more apprehensive, ruffling her feathers and purring. The owl was a little less than comfortable in the presence of the wolf despite Sara's amicable rapport with it. Mu Ying looked at her and chided her silently, turning his gaze back to the soul conduit and the deer that hung from her back. He would, at least, have the courtesy to see that she arrives home without trouble or mishap.
