When making any post, it's very important you ask yourself the five basic questions pertaining to any situation at all.

Who?

Who is this character talking to? Who else is with this character? Who is the character? Descriptions, Feelings, Memories – all of these can be used and more! Even if it's a stranger, there's always something that can be noted! Maybe she had blond hair like a past girlfriend, maybe her eyes are a similar color to your own, or maybe he has a body that, god, your character wishes he could have! Is it jealousy of their looks, their clothes, their friends your character feels? Is it joy at meeting a new person or is this an old acquaintance they've been dying to talk to? Is it apprehension due to your characters inexperience or maybe the person themselves is a frightening sort riddled with bad rumors or an off-putting appearance? There are hundreds of questions that arise with, “Who?”, that can be used!

What?

Oh, the simplest of all – this one is an extreme basic of a post, but is often not done to it's potential! What is this character doing? What is the other character doing? What is involved? Again – Descriptions, Feelings, Memories – they can all be attributed to the actions, the sights, the sounds, the smells, the touch that this character of yours is experiencing right then! Think about yourself! When you walk down the street are you just walking? Is that it? You don't sway your arms or look at the environment, fiddle with your coat or check your watch? There are a dozen small actions that are the whats of what your character is doing, because, yes, this character of yours shouldn't be just a two-dimension slip of paper – it's a person with a memory, a history, habits, and style like anyone else. Keep that in mind, ask yourself, “What is your character doing?”, and, surely, you can think of more than simply walking.

Where?

Where is your character at? Where are they headed? Where are they used to? Where is their friends? Where is their enemies? Where is their goal? D. F. M., people! Descriptions, Feelings, Memories! Think of the five basic senses, think of the tiny details, the noises, the scents – I'm sure you're getting annoyed by this point, but, trust me, it can't be drilled into anyone's head too much!

When?

This one is pretty simple! When is it? The time! The clock! Is it sunset? Noon? Evening? Morning? Are they used to this time or are they dragging their feet, wishing to get back to bed because, damn it, they aren't used to it being this late! Or is it early? Oh, just look at the clock and think! Do they have work later or is it already done? Is there an appointment they have to make? Is the sun lighting the fields, streaming in through the windows, sparkling the waters? Or is it dark, crickets chirping, only the moon and stars to aid their eyes? D. F. M.!

Why?

This, folks, is the last and perhaps most important aspect of a post! WHY? The driving factor behind the action, the where, the who, the when – 'why' is the cause that leads to the ultimate effect! Everything your character is doing, what they are, is all up to this simple question. Three letters can lead to an entire book, but we aren't asking you to do that. We're asking you to only give a brief summary of why. Why is your character wearing slacks? Why is your character tired or angry or sad or happy? Why are they looking at her like that? Why are they out when it's well past their bed-time? There is always a why, no matter how petty or simplistic it is, but it does exist and it's your job as the narrator to let the readers know it so they can better understand him/her. I can't end a question without mentioning, so here it is, people, for the last time in this post -

Descriptions, Feelings, Memories.

REMEMBER IT.

As a last note, I'd like to remind you that the minimum post is four lines. However, if you ask yourself all of these questions on your character, I can assure that, even if each one only sparks one or two sentences, you WILL get more than that.
