Anyone got any details on what they're doing with enchanting in Skyrim? I was honestly disappointed with the system in Oblivion as compared with Morrowind. The only thing making it bearable now is being able to recharge as easily as I can from the Arcane Bank mod...

I havnt heard much about how you will enchant but soul gems still recharge and weapons are supposed to show physically what it is enchanted with.

Well, I was looking at that Skyrim Master List and I noticed they don't have Mysticism listed as a school of magic anymore. I just remember in Morrowind you could sleep and items would recharge, and heck you could level the enchanting school that way, but since they took enchanting as a skill out that didn't work in Oblivion and it made magical items a big pain.
Heck, normally at this point I've started using some kind of magical weapon by level 8 and I haven't done it because it just doesn't feel worth it.... Actually, nevermind I just used a Sigil Stone last night to enchant my sword, but yeah, my point remains that it just seemed so much clunkier in Oblivion

Yes the mysticism is out but one off the spells we know about is still soultrap. So I still imagine enchanting stations plus it's oart of the perk system. I doubt they will make it that you can recharge by sleeping again idk I'm only a little way in morrowind took me 2 years to find a copy.

I have noticed there is an enchantment to improve alchemy and a potion to improve enchanting and a potion and enchantment to improve blacksmith....
I have stupidly enhanced gear now because I wanted to see how far I could improve a 2h axe, lets just say that I can now comfortably one shot dragons with it (while staying within the game "rules" and not actually using a cheat code of any kind)

I'm prolly never gonna get into it, mostly because you have to destroy an item to learn the enchantment and I haven't come across many with enchantments I'd like. I feel like I'm spelling that wrong, haha.

In Morrowind you could make much stronger enchantments than Oblivion so you could.. well, make a super powered, 1-2 shot anything weapon. I know they added more complicated market rules and all but they really needed something else to factor into the whole shebang besides Get Gold, Buy Houses and Horses.

.....ok...you need to use a weapon that has soultrap on it....or just use soul trap.....and then kill it...or if your a mage....you have to upgrade your bound weapons enough so that they have soul trap on them....then you need to kill things...mostly animals....

Enchanting is the easiest skill to max, though.
First, I always enchant my main weapon with Soul Trap. Soul gems are so easy to hoard; they're everywhere. I set up the enchantment so that the enemy has to die in 1 second (because if you deal the death blow with the enchanted weapon, that's all you need)--so I get the max number of uses before needing a recharge.
I pick up literally everything enemies drop, until I can't carry any more. Then I cart it home and enchant it all. It sells for more that way, and you can max your enchanting in no time. Seriously about 3 sessions of enchanting loot and you're done.
I also always break items to discover how to create their enchantments, as long as it's not something super rare, super valuable, or super sentimental (for example, characters' wedding rings!). That will help you level up faster.
I think the perks are definitely worth it, too. I try to level all my characters up and use enchanting perks until they can cast two enchantments per item. It's so useful!

The only thing making it bearable now is being able to recharge as easily as I can from the Arcane Bank mod... They also nerfed it a lot if I recall correctly. Especially as you could no longer wear clothing and armour at the same time. Haha I loved my enchanted gear in Morrowind which boosted my speed to insane levels. I still do enjoy enchanting in Skyrim, although I am pretty sure there are still plenty more enchantments for me to unlock.
