Stocking Festival

User Image

Location: Town Square

Time: 3 PM - 9 PM

Stocking Festival! The one day of the year when the fairies get to show what they REALLY think of you! Those deemed worthy will wake up to find a lovely gift waiting for them, while those who are more of a disappointment may not have such a pleasant surprise. But regardless of the quality of your gift, what's a better way to show your appreciation to the fairies than a celebration? Gather at the town square to show how thankful you are, socialize with your neighbors, and maybe participate in this year's Secret Santa.

Rules: In order to participate in the Secret Santa gift exchange, PM Serendipitous Coma with a list of characters you'd like to enter. During the festival, it'll be up to you to deliver your gift to the correct person, so let's hope you got them something good!

The stocking festival had always been one of Yoakim’s favourite, even before becoming the Town Representative. There was just something happy about giving gifts to people you know, or didn’t know, and then getting a lot for yourselves. So, with a little holiday magic and a lot of incistence from the man, ever member of the LeBlanc family, minus Judith because Judith never counted, was at the town square right now. And he meant everyone. His own 4 member family, Keith’s family with the two (three) children as well as Alanis and her twelve (god, twelve Dx) children. This was a holiday day to be celebrated as a family and he made goddamn sure that his family was there. It hadn’t been hard to convince his household or Alanis to come, Keith, on the other hand, had proven to be more difficult In fact, he was pretty sure his brother had only came because he had been tired of hearing the eldest sibling complaining to him. Who knew how he had gotten Conor to come too…

Yoakim had already given his family their gifts earlier that day. Ellie had gotten a nice silk sleepwear, mainly because it was cute and that, after 10 years of marriage, he had started to run out of ideas, but so had Ellie, apparently, since she had bought him a tie. Not that he didn’t like ties, he needed them, but it was still very… well, it was clear they were both running out of ideas. Rune and Wilhelm, however, had gotten a new Ipod and a video game respectively. Kids were easy to please. Just grab whatever electronics and they’ll be happy. Still, he was now in the town square carrying two gift box. One was of medium size for the secret santa, and the other was much smaller for Jacob. Hey, he was his best friend, so of course he would get him something. He just had to find them both now. Odds were they would be together anyway.

As for the youngest LeBlanc, Wilhelm, he was also carrying gift boxes, but unlike his dad who only had two, he had about ten in his hands. Winter was Wilhelm’s most stressful season. All o his bestriends where born in it AND the stocking day was in it. He spent the whole year saving all the money his parents got him in order to buy gifts during winter. That’s what a good friend would do and he’d be damn if anyone thought that he wasn’t a good friend! Talking about friends, he had to find them. He had a bunch of presents to give to them! All of them! Any of them! So many presents. Now, where were they? He had things for John, Quentin, Peter, Benji, Gabriel, Erika and his secret santa one….which was one of his friend, but that was no reason to slack! It just meant he’d be giving him two gifts! If he could find him….

++++++++++

While Keith had Alanis had been ask by Yoakim to come, they hadn’t came with their eldest brother, but instead, together with their respected family. They were, after all, technically living in the same building, so it was only normal. It was also normal to see that one family was much happier to be there than the other. The Grey’s where all dressed up in a very Stocking day fashion, wearing mainly green and red and their twelves kids dressed up as little elves and fairies! Oh, they were so cute. Cuter than Keith’s family who’s expression weren’t so happy. Actually, the only happy member seemed to have been John, but when wasn’t John happy? Alanis had some gifts on her to give to people she knew and Keith…. Well, Keith had a plastic bag. With fish heads in it. It wasn’t because he was in the secret santa that he would give a nice gift. He just wanted to RECEIVE a nice a gift. There was a difference.

Talking about the Secret Santa, Alanis realized that he own secret santa was standing right next to her! ”Oh! Conor! Conor! Honey, Darling! I got a gift for you! I got your name in the secret Santa! I didn’t know you’d be in it it! Isn’t it surprise Honey? I mean, Lucas this time – Kids! Kids! No. Stop it. No snow fights around mommy and daddy. Go play away”, she shooed the twelves kids away, who didn’t waste time to start a snow fight among themselves and any NPC wanting to join. She returned her attention to Conor, giving him a gift box. What was inside it, you may ask? Why, it’s a gift from Alanis, so of course it was a blue d***o with a pair of handcuffs! They had came together and just seemed perfect for a couple of an alternative life style like her brother and his almost-husband!

++++++++++

Another family coming the festival ground with a bunch of NPC children, who didn’t waste time to go play with the other NPC childrens, were the Hipps. If there was a festival that the two of them would go, it had to be the stocking day! So many people to met and gossip and, most important, give turnips too! Oh yes, they head had a huge bag full of turnips and turnips seed to give everyone! Well, right after they had given their own respective secret Santa’s gift, of course. Didn’t want to make a poor soul who had no friends and had signed up for the secret santa to get a gift waiting, now could they?

A soul just like that had been Eva. She had woken up one day realizing that she would be bored alone in her apartment on that day without anything to do, so she had registered herself for the secret Santa, hopping to make at least one person happy and to find a way to not be too bored. The only problem was that, when you kept to yourself like she did, you would have no idea who the heck was Elliot Park. She should have asked for a picture to go with the name…. For now, she’ll just ask around the various NPC t know if one of them know who that Elliot boy is supposed to be. Hopefully, he’ll like his gift.

Kade had, of course, arrived at the Stocking Festival, accompanied by his own little family! It wasn't as impressive as.. some people, but he swore to everything that they had twice as much cheer! ..Well, Kade did. Jacob seemed a little disgruntled that he had been forced to come with his brother rather than, well, separate, but Theresa had that kind of power over him. One phone call from the brunette and he was there beside Kade and Junior, holding a very large and long gift that was as tall as he was in one hand, while the other held a couple of presents for others he was obligated to. Jacob wasn't really into this whole gift-giving thing, to be honest; he always liked getting presents and being done with it. But, his parents had it ingrained into him to always celebrate the season with everything he had or else something horrible would happen. It was never specified, but he had to assume it had to do with his parents coming down for a visit and demanding attention with everyone. He always swore their forcing of him spending quality time with Kade was some kind of punishment for something he did wrong, whether it be a few years back or three minutes prior. So it should be expected he was going to assume that not buying gifts and forcing some cheer for the cold, winter day would mean he had to spend time with Kade. ..Which really just meant he would have to spend time with Kade either way, but, damn it all, he was going to CHOOSE to do it if he had to!

In any case, he had given Kade a candy bar, Junior a magazine and box of band-aids that reminded him of the boy, and his Secret Santa receiver something equally as half-assed. That with his small gifts to his friends and Jacob's hands were full. Even so, he had full intentions of darting off the second he saw Yoakim so he could sooth over the pains of listening to Kade with some real men, but the sight of the man with his entire family deterred him. He never liked interrupting the family time his friends had – it made him feel even more out of place than he did with his own family. So, he resigned himself for standing next to Kade and looking for – ah. Found a good reason. He looked to the redhead standing quietly behind him, “Gotta give the Secret Santa guy his gift. Bye.” That with a quick glance at Kade and he left towards the Hipps, dodging the children and the quick smile of the blonde housewife to go straight for Turner Hipp. He handed him his gift, a carelessly wrapped up new hoe. What else could he give the farmer? He was just about to say his goodbye and hurriedly leave to stand somewhere else, but the blonde wouldn't stand for that, obviously.

Talna had beamed at the priest as soon as he approached, her hands over eachother on her dress as her presents to give to everyone was sitting neatly in a basket beside her on the ground. Each present was carefully wrapped with a pretty, simple bow of green, red, or silver, but, even with the wrapping, it was fairly obvious what they all were. The only out of the ordinary present the blond housewife had was a hand-sewn blanket she had nicely folded over the basket, leaving only one fourth of the presents revealed. She didn't pay much mind to those, however, as her Secret Santa had yet to arrive! In the mean time, she entertained herself with the local priest, who she gave a peppy smile and chime, “Why! If it ain't the best darn priest this town's seen in ten years!” Something she could easily admit to considering Jacob was the only priest they had had in the last decade. He gave her a barely hidden flat look at that, but she continued on in all sincerity. “I see ya gave mah husband a gift on this blessed day of the Goddess. ..Ah, my, my, I almost forgot – here's yer present!” She knelt down to carefully grab one of the wrapped turnips to hand to the man, who took it with such hidden glee that it appeared as though he didn't even want it! My, what a stern man their priest could be!

...Yeah. Thanks.” Jacob stated grimly. Goddess, he had come to hate turnips after dealing with these people.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

A-ah, ye.. yes..” Junior had barely managed to get out as his uncle left them in quite a rush. The redhead frowned slightly as he watched him leave, a hand moving to the nape of his neck awkwardly as he moved his eyes onto his father instead. Back with the remaining of the Waldroups, Kade was leaning forward on his toes as he examined the crowd, smiling so hard it seemed as though his cheeks would fall off. Junior always had trouble handling his father on these days.. Ever since he was a little kid, it seemed as though Kade had bottled up all of his usual energy the entire year only to release it on this day. While it may sound pretty bad on Junior's part, he was pretty happy when Kade first started to be more calm, so it was somewhat of a bother to have to deal with the man now that he was out of practice of it. But, he was happy! He.. he really was! Kade being cheerful was a good thing. Even if he insisted on coming with a Santa hat and 'ho-ho-hoing' everytime he had to laugh since they first got up that morning. Thank God he had shifted to just wildly giggling; Junior wasn't sure what he would do.

Speaking of giggling, Kade had started to do just that as he looked to Junior again. “Do you see those kids? Aren't they just SO cute? I mean, look at them! Throwing snow! ...Oh, God, Junior, Junior, honey, can you.. can you do me a BIG favor?” Junior's eyes had went from his dad's face to his hand, which had went into the hairdresser's large handbag to hold the presents he was to give that year. He felt a wince coming on as the hand came back up with a camera.

N-.. Um.. D-Dad, I'm.. I'm twenty-three.. I.. I don't..

...But.. Junior, please?” Kade almost dropped his eternal smile to pout, holding the camera up at eye level and looking through it between Alanis's kids to his own son. ..For three seconds before the man dropped it with a sigh and decided to just cross his arms. He didn't want to scare off his kid and.. Junior was an adult now.. A fact that haunted Kade every day. “Fine, fine; did you find your Secret Santa yet~?” He changed the subject as he snapped a quick picture of Junior's arms, holding a gift basket in them carefully. He hadn't know what to give anyone since, well, he didn't know very many people.. if any, but Kade had decided to change his own present to something more personal and given the kid a break in figuring out a present. He shook his head and glanced over the crowd; how was he supposed to find this woman anyway..? Kade shrugged and gave Junior a swift hug, combined with a camera shot directed at both of them. Pictures had recently become an obsession of Kade's, especially when Junior came to town, much to the shy man's displeasure. “Nooo problem, honey! I haven't seen mine yet either! Oh, this is so exciting!” Junior sighed and tried not to look away this time as Kade took another picture; this wasn't the way he wanted to spend his winter vacation..

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

At this most uncharacteristic festival, Conor was standing with a small frown near Keith. He hadn't wanted to come, to be honest. ..Hell, he hadn't wanted this entire festival to happen. Conor hated this time of year with a passion, more so than even than original Scrooge could. Not that Conor knew him beyond a cartoon character he hadn't paid attention to because that damned special was boring as hell. It wasn't like he didn't enjoy the presents or any s**t like that; he loved getting gifts! When there were people to give them, that is. But, now he knew a few people and, thus, could get awesome gifts that he could mock others about! ..But, while he didn't have to give a gift back to most of those people, he did have to give one to Keith. And Keith was a hard ******** to shop for. There were only so many different knives he could give Keith every year and, while Conor happily took a nice Zippo lighter, he wasn't sure Keith would be happy with the same s**t every year. For one, Conor knew ******** nothing about knives and often just went with whatever someone else said was cool. Unfortunately, this year, no one had decided to buy a knife set at the store. Any store, for that matter, since Conor had gone out of his goddamned way to go back to the city for half a day to stalk people in various stores. A lot of ******** effort to get no damned idea.

Which was why he had nothing to show for it. Keith was going to have to settle with nothing or – uh? Conor raised his brows from his bitter musings on this ******** crappy day as he was approached by Alanis. A box. Alanis. Now, while Conor knew Keith didn't like Alanis at all and Conor didn't have any reason to enjoy her either, he did know that Alanis was probably ******** loaded. The woman wore s**t he saw on those rich ******** TV programs and it wasn't like she didn't have a bunch of kids to give her money on the black market – he was sure she was selling their organs, because, well, that's what Conor would have done. Alanis wouldn't give Conor something cheap and she wouldn't give him something he wouldn't like – ********, she lived next door to him; she should know Conor's interests because what the hell else would she be doing with her life when someone like Conor was next door? That only gave Conor one idea. He took the gift with a grunt, tore off the label, and handed it over to Keith, hoping briefly that the guy hadn't seen it being handed over to him. He was sure Keith ignored everything Alanis did anyway. “Merry.. whatever the ******** holiday this is, dude.” He wasn't even sure anymore, so he just handed him the present with that said.

Meanwhile, not a few feet from Conor, was John. Who, as everyone could note and guess, was happy as can be on this holiday. He loved giving gifts! Even if the anxiety of everyone hating everything he could even think of giving weighing on his shoulders, John was still happy that he had the chance to show everyone that he cared! He loved days like this when his dad would give him something – which was really just a miraculously unused condom from his old man's pocket, but the thought was still there. He would keep it under his pillow with all the other things his father gave him over the years, such as pocket change, a few matchbooks, and a cigarette that John would never smoke because Conor told him cowboys only like one brand of cigarette and he would be damned if he ever turned from it. In any case, he was happy. John held a few presents in his arms, all addressed to various people he considered friends – and one special present to one special person he didn't know! A person who he was sure Wilhelm would know because he was popular like that.

So, knowing his father didn't want to talk to him now that he had turned to his other dad, John had went off to Wilhelm. First thing was first, he took out a teddy bear and held it out to Wilhelm. “Happy Stocking Day! I thought he was cute – er, cool. Cool, he was cool. And you like bears. I think. I'm sorry; I shouldn't presume, but I thought you liked bears and if you don't, it's okay; I can keep it or you can take it if you want – I have the receipt.. Uh, I don't have much on me, but I can give you money instead for a present. Do you want money instead? I don't know.” Now was for him to shut up and stop dangling the bear in the air like a mean bully to stuffed animals. John watched Toy Story recently and he knew that the bear was probably really, really mad at him for this. He frowned and held the bear back to his chest to assure it he wasn't going to drop him, stopping himself from muttering some kind of apology to it.

Stocking Festival was supposed to be the kind of festival you spent with family. It was like New Year's, just a little bit earlier. Mei fantasized about it every year, taking her children out to celebrate with the town. A wonderful family holiday, an evening for the four of them to spend some time together without conflict or tears. Of course, life wasn't fair, and so it had yet to work out that way. Previous years had resulted in bumps and bruises, hurt feelings, anger, yelling, crying. This year, her children decided to outdo themselves. Sometimes it was difficult not to think that they had planned it in advance. Yue had locked herself in her room, refusing to come out. Chun Fei had sobbed all day. Jian threw a temper tantrum. All three refused to leave the house. They didn't feel like going out, they just wanted to stay home. And although Mei had started off pleading, negotiating, eventually she gave up, and turned up by herself. It was kind of an odd thing. She had forgotten what it was like to participate in things like this without her children, and so she was at a loss, awkwardly standing off on her own and grasping the present she held in her hands. Her eyes scanned the crowd until she spotted Alanis. Ah ha! She remembered the woman from over the years. Not to mention, Alanis was a perfect Lady, like Talna, and she couldn't help but remember someone as lovely as that! And so she smiled as she trotted over to the blonde and handed her her Secret Santa gift -- a cook book, filled with recipes for tarts and cakes and other ladylike things like that. "Happy Stocking Festival," she greeted her pleasantly.

---

God, it felt like it had been years since Shinju had last been outside. She wasn't an antisocial person, it was just a lot of work to motivate herself to leave, considering the people she was expected to surround herself with. But today, she was insisting that she go out, and do it her way. Stocking Festival had never been an event she particularly valued, but she was tired of hanging around the mansion. With her was her daughter, January. The little girl had put up a bit of a fight initially, but upon hearing that there were presents involved, she became significantly more willing. For the first time in a long time, the little girl was almost agreeable, following her mother without much of a complaint. In fact, she was kind of excited, chattering on and on about what her Secret Santa must have gotten her. "Maybe he got me a pony! Last year, I got a pony, remember? But it was purple, not pink," she smiled at the thought. She hugged a large piece of paper to her chest as she talked.

Shinju held out her hand and stopped the little girl from walking anymore, as they were well into the festival area. "You see your Secret Santa person?" she asked delicately, apprehensive that her interrupting would set her daughter off. But never underestimate the power a present has over a spoiled, greedy child. For once, she didn't seem to care. "Huh? I don't know," January shrugged. How was she supposed to know some random grown up?

---

Peter had come alone again this year. He had his own family's Stocking Festival celebration to look forward to, but in the meantime, he liked Secret Santa, it was fun, even if he was bad at it. As he entered the town square, he glanced around in search of a familiar face. Ah, his aunt was over there with his cousin. He had to make sure to say hello at some point. But for the time being, there was something more important than his extended family. That something was Wilhelm. He hurried over to his best friend, who was talking to John. "Happy Stocking Festival, Will!" he greeted him. "You too, John," he added with a nod. He reached into the duffel bag he had slung over his shoulder and handed Wilhelm a bag of cookies. After a moment of thought, he gave one to John, too. Well, he had made a lot.

---

Once upon a time, River and Elliot would drag Alex along to the Stocking Festival, and they'd spend it as a family. Although her brother complained, it was always fun. But now that both of her siblings had their own families, it wasn't so simple getting together as a family. And so Elliot was by herself this year, though it wasn't so bad. She was independent now, going to these alone wasn't so bad. And she wasn't really alone, not really. And so she took a spot at the edge of the square and settled down to people watch, holding the soft wrapped present in her arms.

---

Secret Santa. Rory liked Secret Santa. There was something exciting about buying a gift for a stranger, and presenting it to them. It was an ultimate surprise! ...Of course, upon reaching the festival, he decided that his person wasn't there yet, and so he headed off in search of food. The decorations, the mood in the air, this was a festival he liked a lot~

---

...Cherry didn't know what she was doing here. Not that she didn't like this time of year, or was against wholesome holidays like this. She just felt out of place, surrounded by all of these families. But she had been so stir-crazy, she just had to get out of the house, and she knew Chris would hate a festival like this one. And so she was free! She almost skipped to the town square, but she quickly regained her composure once she spotted people. She had a gift to give, but she didn't know many people here, for some reason. She asked some NPC's, and soon enough, she was redirected over to Talna. Hurrying over, she greeted the woman briefly and then handed her a painstakingly perfect package. It was a scarf. Not very creative, but practical, at least.

Alanis was standing there, blinking at Conor’s reaction. Wasn’t he suppose to thank her, give her a kiss, open the gift and then run away, skipping in the snow hand in hand with Keith in order to go try their new gift? His reaction was completely off. However, before she had the time to point anything about it, a Chinese woman had appeared next to Alanis and was handing her a gift. Of course, being on the island for many years, she knew that it was Mei Hwa Li. They had met on numerous occasion in the past, especially when she had been pregnant. Not that she had given birth in the clinic, no, like a proper Mary Sue, she had birthed all her child from home with a midwife – Well, Lucas. He had been midwife enough until he fainted and Alanis had to do everything by herself after that.

”A Cookbook!”, she exclaimed in joy as she opened the gift that the Chinese Woman was giving her. ”I love cookbooks! Thank you very much, Mei!” If there was an item that a proper woman should have, it was a cookbook! One could never have enough recipes! She would never dare to cook something twice in the same year and serve it to her family! What a shame it would be! They would call her an improper wife if she did that. No, she would no fall that low, hence why she was happy to receive that gift.

++++++++++

As he gave a second glace around, Yoakim noticed that the Waldroup family had finally arrived, all together, missing the Tess-part of it, not that Yoakim knew much of her, but he had been close to both brothers so it was hard to, at least, not hear about her every now and then. Both brothers being there, however, meant that both of his gifts recipients had arrived and he had to chose which one to give a gift first since they had decided to separate themselves. Probably to make hi s life harder, those bastards! Bah, he still liked them. He would give his secret Santa gift first, just to get over it and, leaving his family behind him to deal with their own gift giving, approached Kade Waldroup.

”Hey, Kade…. Happy Stocking Day.”, he said to him with a slight hint of awkwardness in his voice. Him and Kade had quite a history together and even if it had happened almost fifteen years ago and they were okay with each other nowadays, he still felt slightly awkward toward the man, mainly because every time he saw him, he had that little feeling of guilt remerging inside of him. A feeling that he tried to push back in the back of his mind as he handed a square box with a pink ribbon on it to Kade. ”You’re my secret santa, this year. I hope you’ll like it…” He smiled faintly as he handed the box to the man. It had a Grumpy looking Teddy Bear in it. ”I noticed that you lost the one you used to have… so I got you another one….” Of course, the man had no idea that the old teddy bear that Kade had was supposed to represent him and he had destroyed him when they had broken up….

++++++++++

Oh, Keith had seen Conor tearing the label off after his sister had giving his boyfriend the gift, but in a twisted logic, he didn’t pay much attention of it. Conor was willing to sacrifice a gift to himself to give it to Keith, which made it a good gift in its own right and he didn’t have a place to complain about it. Dropping the bag of fish head her was carrying on the snow, he took the box happily. ”Hey, thanks dude. You thought of it!” He was about to grab Conor, start making out with him and have sex right there in the snow in front of all the children, but then Alanis popped in, in front of them, after excusing herself of Mei’s for a minute. She had something to do first before talking about food and children with the fellow mother.

”Oh, no! This won’t do, Conor! First of all, you’re supposed to be happy when you get a gift. And you’re supposed to get your own to give.”, she reprimanded her brother-in-law and neighbour. This was stocking day! The happiest day in the year and he was still looking as grumpy as ever. Usually, she would put up with it, mainly because she was hot and she still had hope him and Lucas would go down together and she’d be able to film it, but today, of all days, she wanted more! She wanted the magic of Stocking day to happen! ”Do you know why you are so grumpy and you don’t have many friends Conor? It’s because…. Your Heart is close! You should….” She took a moment of silence, closing her eyes and taking in a deep breath. Then, she snapped her fingers and her twelve kids who had been playing suddenly all stopped at the same time like little robots. They look in their mother’s direction and then run to her, positioning themselves behind her. They knew what they had to do ! ”Open up your heart!” And without wasting a moment, using all the power that the Mary Sues had given her, her children and her started to sing and dance a choreography meant to open Conor’s heart! Yes, not even the darkest, coldest heart wouldn’t be affected by the power of love, song and dances! Even Keith who was only on the sideline was starting to feel happy and giddy and jolly and lovvy!

++++++++++

As John appeared right next to him, Wilhelm jumped on him, giving him the hug of the century. He never wasted an ocation to give a hug to John, or kiss him on the cheeks…or lips… and to slap his butt whenever the occasion made it look semi normal. He just loved touch be ever more touchy feely toward his (not blood related) cousin than everyone else he knew. There just was something about John that made him droll happy. ”YOU GOT ME SOMETHING? THAT’S SO AWESOME! WHAT IS IT?” When he saw the Teddy Bear, Wilhelm had the most obvious reaction of happiness and surprise on his face. He grabbed the teddy bear, snuggled it a bit and gave John another hug, this time, with kisses added. ”OMG IT’S SO CUTE JOHN I LOVE IT I LOVE YOU THANKYOU.” This certainly was the cutest teddy bear in all creation! With his little hat and his little paws and his –

Ahem. The boy took a moment to collect his thoughts and to not act more stupid than he usually was, but he still kept the extra large grin on his face, even as Peter walked toward them. Peter AND John with him? Oh, this was an awesome wetdream day! ”YOU GOT ME COOKIES PETER YOU’RE AN AWESOME FRIEND. BOTH OF YOU. AWESOME. I LOVE YOU.” And he then gave a kiss on Peter’s forhead…. And then gave another one on John’s cheek. He just loved to kiss, what could he say. ”I have gifts for you too!” He then handed an empty arm toward John…. Wait, empty? Oh, yes, while he was busy being a hug-slut, he had dropped all of his boxes in the snow. Hopefully, none would have gotten too wet. He grabbed a green and red box an handed it to John. In it was a cowboy hat. He knew John loved everything cowboy and he could never have enough hat! Next, he handed Peter a smaller yellow and blue box which had a CD compilation of various Jazz artist. Hopefully they would both love it! He then grabbed another Green and Pink box and gave it to john. ”You’re also my Secret Santa, John! So I got you two gifts! Happy Stocking Day!” In this box was three pairs of tight boxers for John! Wilhelm didn’t expect Keith or Conor to buy proper clothes for John, and he didn’T trust john into picking up anything sexy, so he had to take the mater into his own hands! And that way, he would know what John was wearing…. Because… that was what family did… take care of each other. Yeah. Ahem.

++++++++++

A Hoe! What a wonderful gift idea! Turner loved Hoes and used them regularly too! A man could never have too many hoes, and his wife would agree on that. ”Oh, my Goddess! What a fine hoe ya gave me, father. It sure darn looks like ya’ll know your hoes, don’t cha?” He flashed the priest a really large smile and was about to give him a turnip when his wife beat him to it. Oh, his darling was always there to think of everything and take care of him. Wasn’t she just the darn best?

However, when Cherry Garcia walked next to them in order to give his wife a gift, he decided that it was his turn to take the matters into his hands! ”Well, if it ain’t the fancy ma’am from the school. How’d you be?”, he asked her before taking a turnip from the turnip bag and handing it to her. This one turnip was wrapped in a purple ribbon~ ”Please accept this small gift from us. I’m telling ya, it’ll be the best darn turnip ya’ll ever eaten, ma’am.” He was proud of his turnips. No turnips was as turniping as a turnip from the Little Turnip, afterall!

On the other side of the festival grounds, Eva was still busy asking every NPC that she saw if they knew who Mister Park was. Most of them said that they did indeed knew him, but none of them could point it to her. It would have seem like Eliot Park hadn’t arrived yet. It was alright, she could keep mingle and pass business card to every NPC there. Goddess knew they all needed the counselling.

The sun was out and there was snow in the forecast. The cheerful day was perfect for a festival and the O'Ballivan family trooped towards the Town Square altogether - well mostly. The group sure was an interesting one to watch - Amanda with her city sense of style, Tate with his cowboy chic, and Brody just plain adorable. Amanda and Tate were walking hand in hand, and Brody was in viewing distance but kept playing and running around as they walked towards the center. As they arrived, each family member looked around for their own perspective Santa Match's. Amanda for Yoakim, Tate for Rory, and Brody for January. As luck would have it, each of their Secret Santa's was there! The family split up to go be cheerful gifter's and then to socialize with the people in the square.

As Amanda make her way toward Yoakim she got slightly nervous about his gift. When she had realized that she had gotten the town's representative she had set about making a bound book of photographs she had taken of different festivals and the different townspeople over time since she had moved to the Island. Since it was all her own work she was terrified he wouldn't like it. But before she could wuss out she walked up to the man and tapped his shoulder, effectively interrupting his conversation with the man he was standing with. "Hello there, I don't know if we've ever been properly introduced. My name's Amanda O'Ballivan. And I got your name in the Secret Santa so I have your gift right here." With a nervous but cheerful smile she handed him a prettily wrapped box with a silver bow on top and sent a quick prayer to the goddess that he liked it.

Tate hadn't ever personally met Rory but Amanda had long ago. She had pointed out the young man, thank goodness, before she had gone to find Yoakim and so Tate knew who he was walking up to. Tate tapped the man on the shoulder and wondered if his gift would be corny. It was after all a rather large book with information about the most famous wonders of the modern world. It was full of really cool pictures too, Tate would know - he looked through it before Amanda had wrapped it. "'Lo there. Name's Tate O'Ballivan. I drew your name 'outta the Secret Santa. So's I've gotta' gift for you. Hope ya' like it." And with that small but cheerful bit Tate handed over a box wrapped it green paper with a big green and red bow on top.

Brody hadn't any idea who his Secret Santa person was, but his Mommy had asked and found out she was a girl that went to his school. So Brody bounded up to a girl who was older then him, everyone seemed older then him - something that annoyed the little boy immensely, and decided to say hello. He was charming about it though, because let's be serious now he's adorable and irresistible. "Hi there! My name's Brody O'Ballivan! I betcha' your name's January. Or at least I hope so, because otherwise I can't give you this present. And your pretty so I want to give you this present." Boy oh boy he sure was smooth huh? With a smile he handed her a red and white polka dotted bag that he had picked out when he was helping Mommy wrap presents. Brody really didn't understand girls, at his large age of six, so Amanda had picked out a gift for the little girl - a tiara and a pink pony. Because all little girls wanted to be Princesses right? And please, ponies are always a pleasing gift. Once the job of handing the gift was over Brody wanted to play, but he should probably see what she said first. Because that was the polite thing to do. And O'Ballivan men were always polite - Daddy and Uncle Cole said so!

Ah, did fate love to play games~ Kade found his smile lower by at least two watts in brightness as he saw Yoakim, of all people, approach him. While they were on good terms, yes, it was still a silent rule to keep themselves at an 'acquaintance' level during festivals. Kade stayed with his own circle and Yoakim stuck with his to prevent the awkwardness that had little waned over the years between the two. But, with a random event like a Secret Santa, Kade should have known there was a chance they would get one another. Junior, still standing beside him, frowned slightly and averted his eyes as Yoakim approached, not wanting to get caught in some kind of weird conversation. It appeared 'awkward relationships' was inherited with the Waldroups – though Junior's issue was more shallow than Kade's. Talking to someone who you were named after in a moment of not-so-saneness was pretty weird and, since Gladice had died, Junior found no real reason to even try it. So, he kept his eyes elsewhere to appear distracted, happy to let Kade take over with peppiness – thankfully, not that forced of peppiness.

Oh? Did you? That's so weird, isn't it? I didn't think you'd get me.” Kade sounded slightly relieved as he took the present, happy to know Yoakim didn't have some other reason to talk to him. He was about to rattle on about how lucky the man must have felt considering just how well they knew eachother, so a gift wasn't that hard to come up with, but before he could say anything more, Amanda had came to take the attention away. Another thing to be thankful for; Kade wasn't sure if what he was about to say was going to end in a not-so-cheerful mood for the both of them and.. he really didn't want to ruin the day because of some silly thing that happened years ago. So, he focused instead on the present – and what a present~! ♥

Kade hadn't been so doll crazy lately – most of his funds went into his bunnies – but, the bear was absolutely adorable! ♥ ..It was so.. so.. invigorating! Like something had dawned on Kade as he looked at the stuffed animal, something he didn't really pay attention to as he grabbed Junior by the arm and tugged him to look. “Oh, honey, look, look~! Isn't he so cute?! Mr. Gruff-Tuff the Second! That's his name! It's a friendship bear!” He felt a giggle in his voice as he let the box drop to the ground, Junior kneeling down with his arm still in his father's hand so he could pick it up. He didn't want his uncle to be mad, after all. He glanced up at his dad and smiled slightly, feeling less pressure on him now that Yoakim was supposed to be looking elsewhere. “..Yeah.. He's cute, dad.

The priest was simply looking for a way out of the conversation with Turner and Talna as he nodded to the farmer, “Uh, I guess, yeah? I.. blessed it. You know, for better harvests.” He wasn't really sure why he blessed it, but he had some weird feeling they would like it better considering how oddly religious they were. ..A funny thought coming from the local priest, wasn't it? Yeah, well, that was just what he called the oddity in the Hipp family. He was just about to resign himself to forever standing there with the farm couple when another woman (Cherry) had come up. He hadn't seen her at the church before or, at the very least, didn't recognize her, but as he listened to Talna, he quickly figured out her name.

The woman did know everyone in town and she must have had some kind of photographic memory, for, when Cherry had approached and handed her her present, she smiled warmly and said, “Why! Ms. Natasha Garcia!” She paused to chuckle at the name – it was such a fancy city folk kind of name~ “I never thought ya would get lil me.” She didn't take any time in opening the gift – although she made certain to not rip the wrapping. They could save that for next year! “Ah!” She took out the scarf and instantly tied it around her bare neck, blushing slightly as she realized she hadn't come wearing one already. “Mah goodness, Natasha, ya saved me a world o' shame!” She couldn't believe she left her neck bare! She bet Turner was secretly laughing at her the whole way there! That man! She shook her head, but didn't say anything else as Turner handed a turnip over to Natasha. The action alone had her heart warmed back up again towards the man; he always knew just what to do~ “He's tellin' the Goddess-spoken truth, miss!” She assured the school counselor after Turner spoke, happy to agree with their produce's quality!

Uh huh.” Jacob cut in, not letting the woman have her chance at speaking. She seemed pretty awkward about this whole situation anyway, something he could relate to easy enough. Natasha was her name, right? He set a hand on the woman's shoulder and smiled at the Hipps, “Yeah, best turnip ever – I can tell you all about it, Natasha, while these two spread more of their good turnips to the town.” He nodded his head away from the pair, attempting to get the message across that leaving was in both their best interests.

While Conor had been happy to overhear Alanis was busy with her own present, the man didn't really expect the woman to go back to him. He was about to be ******** happy – maybe make out with Keith and then let it go where it needed to go, but then the b***h had to interrupt. He wasn't very happy when he was turned around to face the blond, his eyes narrowing defensively the second she decided to criticize Conor's ******** present. If Keith hadn't been standing there – that and the entire ******** 'family' – he wouldn't have hesitated in attacking the woman for such a thing. Sure, he could handle miniscule insults now, but when he actually felt like he succeeded in making Keith happy? Alanis wasn't allowed to take that away. But, while he was tensed and ready to leave, Alanis burst into song.

Seriously. She started to sing and dance and s**t right ******** there.

Conor was perplexed, to say the least, as he watched her, looking back around to others around to make sure that he wasn't the only one to ******** see this. But, outside of Keith and a few other NPCs directly in the vicinity, it seemed he was. Like he was on some weird ******** trip – didn't someone say some of that s**t could stay in someone's system for years? If so, then, ********, he was feeling it now and he may as well let it go while he could. So, it wasn't very hard for Conor to relax and watch Alanis do her little sing and dance number, actually finding himself enjoying it. ********, whatever that was that had him like this must have been really good back in the day. Even after she had finished and the kids had gone back to whatever they were doing before, Conor still felt pretty.. happy~ Seriously! Like, the whole holiday spirit was in him! It was awesome! He grinned widely and looked at Keith – but, not with lust! Oh, no, he was happy for other reasons! First? Probably. “Dude, let's go find our – ah, ********, yeah! Hold up! This is gonna be awesome.” His eyes had caught sight of a blonde hair and glasses – glasses that didn't actually make him frown!

He spotted Peter Tamaki and headed right past Keith towards the kid, pausing to give John a quick hug. “John! Hey! ********, hey, guys! What's up? It's ******** awesome today, isn't it? ********, yeah, it is! Presents an' snow an' s**t! Dude, Peter, dude.” He dove a hand into his pocket and scoured it for a second, coming back out with some strawberry flavored lube that he handed over to Peter. “Thought you could use that! Y'know, with John.” He gave a wink to Peter and let go of John to leave back to Keith, but not before grinning over at Wilhelm, “Hey, dude, you too! Give him a ******** run! Maybe – ah, ********, I'm feeling generous. Here.” He took a condom out of his pocket and tossed that at Wilhelm before leaving back to Keith~ Ah, yeah, this was a good day!

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Speaking of John, the boy was feeling about ready to cry as he felt the warm embrace of his father. There was Peter, who had given him COOKIES, and Wilhelm, who got him two whole presents! The best thing of all, though, was that Wilhelm liked the present John got him just before he felt dad actually show public affection without some kind of backlash. He just.. left. Happy. Enjoying life. John felt tears well up in his eyes and he sniffed – this.. this was the happiest moment in his life and he didn't know what to say! “..Thank you, Wilhelm, I-I have to go. I'm sorry!” And, just like that, he turned and hurried off to go find somewhere safe to cry so no one saw him. It wasn't that he was embarrassed or anything, but John knew tears always made him sad and he didn't want to make his friends sad because he was being weird. He never knew happy could make him cry! It was strange and he had to be alone – but, before he could find his alone spot, he bumped into an NPC first.

A nice one who showed him the card to a good therapist so he could fix his problems! He thanked her and asked her where he could find her after he realized 'Eva' was the same Eva he needed to find. Happily directed to her with a pat to his shoulder, the boy sniffed once again and wiped his eyes before heading over to Eva. When he reached her, he took one of the presents he had in his arms and handed it over to her, “Happy Stocking Day! Aha.. You.. like this, don't you? I'm sorry if you don't like it – I can get you something else if you don't. I didn't know what you would like, but, here..” He really hoped she liked the fat bear he picked out for her! He didn't know much about Eva, but he knew girls normally liked bears – didn't they?

Over the rooftops, clip-clop-clip – there came good ol' FINNIAN! Yes! Finnian. Because this is Nirvani and Nirvani doesn't know anyone by the name of 'Saint Nick'. Really, what kind of universe did you think this was? Pft. Silly morons. In any case, Finnian came bounding into town square in full costume – a red suit with white, fluffy trim along it and a big, fake white beard on his face! Yes, he was dressed as Finnian's latest disguise! Google had told him that this Santa Suit was the best outfit to wear during this time of year if he wanted to do good deeds without being noticed~! Good deeds such as give his destined Secret Santa chosen their present! ..A destined one he didn't see anywhere at the festival yet.. Odd, but he could handle it. Finnian hummed merrily to himself as he looked over the crowd, searching for – AHA! Elliot! He bounded over to the woman as fast as he could go and, from the burlap sack he had over his shoulder, took out a neatly wrapped red box with a silver bow for his companion! Inside of which was a number of Tigra comic books that he had~ Maybe to inspire some later costumes? Who knows! “Happy Stocking Day, Elliot!

Todd was trying to stay warm in his favorite sweater and jacket combo. But, his fear of his gift being awful was making him tremble more than the cold ever could. He looked around, trying to remember the face of Mei Hwa Li. He had seen her, thankfully, a small amount of times. In front of him, he was clutching a medium sized box which contained a scarf and hat combo and a necklace that Tatyana had begrudgingly helped him pick out. He looked all around the area, trying to pick her out from the crowd. It was proving to be harder than he thought, he had never actually conversed with her past what was necessary. After the third look through of people, he narrowed it down to two people. So when the one turned around and was revealed to really be a man, it was easily the other. He took a deep breath and walked towards her, box held tightly in his grasp. "Umm, excuse me. Mei, I...umm, this is your gift! Happy... Stocking Festival." Maybe it was the shivering that made him stutter and sound like what he imagined as a complete buffoon. He handed her the gift and tried to calm himself in a non-noticeable manner. It turned to be a much harder task than he expected. He began to wonder how many encounters with women it would take before he stopped morphing into a puddle at the sight of them.

Zelynity absolutely loved the holidays! They made her squeal with delight, which she did often as she decorated and bought gifts and watched the snow gather. Everything about it was just so exciting and she couldn't understand any of those people who didn't like them! Perhaps that was the biggest reason why she neglected her brother and ran off to the stocking festival every year! It was just such a great time to gather, mingle, and watch others sharing in her love of the time. She was even more excited about the fact that she could buy a gift and spend more time with someone, hopefully bringing joy to them. That was the reason she spent so much time picking out the perfect gift! This gift was now clutched in her hand as she kicked her way playfully through the snow. She approached Wilhelm LeBlanc with a wide smile and handed him the small package which contained a gift card for the tailor and the bakery. Everyone could always use food and clothing, couldn't they? She also had no idea what to buy a teenage boy, so it was a bit of a cop out as well. "Hello! Happy Stocking Festival! I hope you have a great holiday season!" She placed her arms behind her back and smiled some more, hoping he'd love his gift.

Xeiro wasn't feeling nearly as festive without his whole family. But, Lyra was the only one who wanted to do the secret santa, so they were doing it together. If anything, it was more time for them to spend bonding. He was holding the gift for Junior Waldroup since it was a rather large box. He really couldn't imagine any guy wanting what Lyra picked out. But, she insisted that everyone should own one. Since he couldn't turn down her pout face, he was now carrying a life size stuffed tiger. He kind of felt bad for the guy, but he felt even worse for himself when he realized that it would look like he had picked this crap out. "See that tall young man over there with the orange hair? That's the one." He smiled down at Lyra, hoping that this way she would approach him and save him from looking weird.

__________________________________________

Lyra loved snow and loved scarves, so it was only normal for her to want to come hang out in it with her big goofy daddy. A good thing about him was that with a few bats of her eyes, she could get him to do most things. This time, that included having him carry the wonderful gift they had purchased for some lucky boy. She was a little shocked when she saw the person that the gift was for, she had thought he was a lot younger. Isn't that what junior meant? Smaller? But, either way. Everyone could use a wonderful stuffed tiger. Especially one as big as the great one she had got for him! She skipped over to him, making sure her dad was right behind her. "Hi! I'm Lyra. Happy Stocking Festival! I got you a marvelous gift that I think you will find very grand!" Lyra was in that stage where new words made her look sophisticated! The fact that this boy was rather cute up close meant that she needed to sound as old as humanly possible. She looked over at Xeiro, making sure he was handing off the gift in a timely manner. Her grand entrance couldn't be stopped with his delays!

__________________________________________

Beatrice was walking a little ways behind the part of her family that was also here. She didn't want to intrude on the cute father-daughter time. With Xeiro working so much, since people loved warm goods in the cold weather, it wasn't often that they had time like this. The fact that she was mostly only around work and home made this whole festival a bit harder for her. She had no idea who the man she was supposed to be giving this gift to was. Which meant that she got him a pretty terrible gift. Her theory was that there came a time when everyone needed to be fancy, so she got the man a shirt and tie set. Sure, it was generic and lame. But, it was the thought that counted, right?

-Eleanor LeBlanc, Rune LeBlanc, & Blaire Page-

For some odd reason, Eleanor hadn't decided to be in this year's Secret Santa. She would probably say it was because she had been busy with work and let it pass but... obviously this was the Goddess doing. Or misdoing. Today she was just support, because Blaire had hauled her here in a... well she would call it hormonal attack. The woman wasn't mad, or bipolar, she was just extremely sensitive. Add to that the person she got... well Eleanor was actually surprised she went through with it. Now what she got as a present was anybody's guess. She was never particularly good at that, which was why Yoakim had gotten a tie this year. Probably why Yoakim got her that nice sleepwear. It was nice but... yeah.

Right now she accompanied Blaire who had a small gift box, courtesy of the store she got that simple little watch from. It was either that or a letter of anger... Go figure. Well in any case, she had managed to compose herself throughout the walk here, dressed casually yet with a pretty cozy winter coat as she searched for her Secret Santa. As she did, which was Keith LeBlanc, however she diverged her attention to his brother and her brother in-law, Yoakim LeBlanc, and made his way over to him with Ellie in tow. Unfortunately by that time she got sentimental again and stopped in front of the male almost shoving the small box into his hands. "Yoakim. Happy Stocking Day. And Merry-Um yeah. Hi, and hi" started the woman slightly excusing herself to Kade and Amanda who she was interrupting. "I really don't mean to interrupt but I can't do this. I'm not gonna do it and I don't want to be a killjoy so you're giving this to... to your brother. You know why and everyone knows why but I'm not doing it and you can't make me." Blaire paused for a moment, taking a breath, either for her sake or for the others since she was talking really fast and at some point it stopped making sense... and stuck her hands in her coat's pockets. "Um... Yeah... Bye." Now her sniffling and teary eyes interrupted her thoughts and she just sneaked away. Ellie, who was next to her before she left simply laughed nervously. "Hormones" she said, hoping that would be enough of an explanation. "I'll stay with her." With that the two were off somewhere in the festival. Hey, had she not been hormonal, there could've been a chance Blaire would've given him the present... possibly.

Rune had come along with her mother and aunt, at least until they left to tend to her aunt's Secret Santa. The girl hadn't really understood why her aunt was upset, and she didn't really have much time to ponder on that before noticing her Secret Santa, Jacob Waldroup, in the area. It had been a tough one, figuring out what she could give the town's priest, before thinking he could use a new robe! Surely that was a good idea right? "Father Jacob" greeted the girl as she found her way to him. Rune met him with a smile and handing her colorfully wrapped gift box over to him. "Secret Santa Delivery~ Happy Stocking Festival" said Rune happily. "I really hope you do like it."

Lucas who (just imagine a colorful red and green sweater and pants in that pretty picture) walked with his wife, was quite happy to not be alone with the children. However he wasn't happy being involved in chatter with Conor. He would go to the grave hating him... as if childhood hatred wasn't enough, he could add annoying neighbor hatred to the list. "Stocking Festival. That's what this is Conor" spoke up the man, keeping an arm around his wife's waist. Sheesh... why couldn't they spend time with normal people? Why weren't there normal people in this island?

At some point of the festival, Eet had arrived~ Actually Eet was here all along, just sleeping up on a tree. It was rather cold with the snow mind you, but Eet had long learned to deal. Now it had been told about a Secret Santa event, by whoever thought of it. And here Eet was, with it's gift, a jar of pickles, for a Todd Van Kwil. It actually took a while to figure who the man was... after showing the jar to different guys saying "Todd." at each of them, one pointed out the man to Eet, who was talking to Mei. Somebody it recognized! So~ Interrupting the two, Eet sat down in front of Todd and lifted the jar for the man to take. "Todd."

Oh what a wonderful holiday! Isaac was such a scrooge it wasn't funny. Leon couldn't believe the boy was just fine with their little gift giving and just that! It was such an interesting thing to have a Secret Santa with the rest of the town, well he just had to sign up, and luck have it, he got a lady! Which was why he scavenged around his antiques and found a very lovely necklace she was sure to love! He had done his homework too, or rather just asked around what this Amanda O'Ballivan looked like, so he wouldn't be wandering around lost for his Secret Santa. "Happy Holidays! Pardon to interrupt. But, Amanda? I believe I am your Secret Santa. A present for you" he said smoothly with a grin, handing the blonde woman a delicately wrapped gift box.

The redhead was just standing up when a little blue-haired girl came bouncing his way, warm and peppy despite the cold air. He didn't move from his crouched position, keeping himself at eye-level with her as she spoke to him eagerly, forcing a smile out of him even with the surprise of the child approaching him out of the blue. Junior quickly understood why, though, as he found his eyes being directed over to the large package the man – who he guessed was the father – was. He straightened up some, feeling nervous when there was someone so.. big around. He tried not to swallow as he looked from the man (Xeiro) to the girl, Lyra. If it had been just her, he would have been able to keep himself from getting nervous, but with her father right there.. “A-ah,” He sounded under his breath as he took the gift from the man, finding it somewhat difficult to keep eye contact with the girl with the package in hand. It wasn't that large, but she was shorter than him, so.. He opened it up as soon as he could, hoping he didn't look impolite with the decision.

But, children were understanding of eagerness, so he doubted she would care. “..Ah..” He rose his brows as he saw the large tiger come out of the box, maneuvering the box to sit under his arm awkwardly with his own Secret Santa gift as he tried to look the tiger over with one hand. It was.. nice. He didn't expect it, but, coming from a little girl, it was sweet, even. He cracked his previous smile again and looked down at Lyra, “T-thank you very much. I really like it..” He tried to say it as honestly as he could, but he swore, even if he didn't know if the man was really looking his way or not, he could feel the father's eyes bore into him. He really wished it was just the child; he could relax around children!

Before he could force more out, though, Kade had come to his rescue. The salon owner's attention finally was released from his new teddy-bear and he looked up to see who had come to speak to Junior. He half-hoped it was an old friend or lover or something that would show Junior had more of a reason to come back once he finished school, but it ended up being just little Lyra! He pouted for a brief second until he realized that Lyra would mean Xeiro and, who would have guessed it, Xeiro was standing right there! He smiled brightly as he took in the man and instantly hurried up to stand infront of him, blocking him from Junior's view. “Xeiro! It's been forever! You remember me, right?” He said as he went through his bag to get the present he had picked out for the man. “Happy Stocking Day – and Merry Christmas too! I'm your Secret Santa! Here~!” Having finally gotten a good hold on the little alcoholic gift basket, he handed it over to the man. He didn't really know what to give Xeiro – he had been Mitsuke's friend, not him! But, well, Mitsuke liked liquor and.. so he guessed Xeiro may enjoy it some too! “I hope it's alright – I didn't know what kind you liked, so I got a little of everything.

Before Jacob could get away from the Hipps, it seemed someone had decided to charge in and block his path! He frowned slightly as he looked to the girl who decided to block his way, recalling her to be one of the few families who came into church weekly for his sermons – One of the LeBlanc kids. Yoakim's daughter – or adopted one, at least. He glanced behind Rune for a second, wondering if Yoakim had come over with her, but it seemed the man was busy with his.. brother? He raised a brow at that, but shook it off. However much he didn't get it, Yoakim and Kade were sort of friends, so he would let it be. Besides, he had to focus on Rune here! He was always happy to see a follower of the Goddess, so he gave her a broad grin as he took the pretty box she had for him. “Happy Stocking Day to you too, Rune. Thank you.” He said before he opened it up – hey, it was already Stocking Day; there wasn't any reason to wait! Though, he wasn't expecting anything really cool and – ah, yeah, he was right. A robe. He tried not to chuckle at how generic the present was, but he still looked at her gratefully for it, closing the box back up so the snow didn't get to it. “I needed another one of these. ..Ah, hey,” He said as he recalled something, giving her a stern look, “You're eighteen now, right? You aren't going to start skipping out on church because dad isn't making you, yeah?” Not that he thought the LeBlanc's were all forced, but, eh, he had to make sure. He wasn't going to lose a follower because of something silly like having a choice now!

Ah, she was so late to this festivity! But, Catrina didn't really care that day~ Oh, no, no! She had too much fun giving someone her special perfect gift! A gift that had taken all morning to get done and some extra hard work to get it too – hunting in the winter time was never easy, after all! Catrina had to stalk all throughout the forest to find an animal slow enough to get caught, but not so ratty that it wouldn't be a good enough gift! She was pretty excited as she held a dead snow rabbit in her hands, only a little bit of blood matting up the plush, white fur – that way, the humans could use it to make something nice! She couldn't do it very easy herself, but she had seen plenty of people play with the skins to make good clothing! She rather liked the idea of wearing some memento of the hunt, so she wished she could learn to do it too, but~ That would have to be later! After this day! She shivered in the cold, looking around hurriedly for –

AHA! There she was! B- FISH. Catrina's mind shifted from the girl she had locked onto as the sent of fish came slinking through the air towards her red nose. So, it was without much hesitation that she dashed straight towards Keith LeBlanc's bag of fish heads, yanking it from him eagerly with a mewl. “Mjau~ ♥ Mine, mine, mine~! You don't need it, I want it~ Mrroew~” She licked her lips as she scurried a few paces away, letting the rabbit fall to the ground beside her as she scooped out one of the fish-heads, licking and chewing at it. Ah~ She loves this stuff! It was so hard to get proper, full fish now that winter had come!

Mei broke into a relieved smile as Alanis thanked her. It had turned out well! She had begun to worry a bit, because she felt that regifting just invited bad luck, but that cookbook had been a passive aggressive present from her father, and she wasn't that good of a cook anyway. Alanis was much more deserving, and it suited her more! "Oh, I'm glad," she sighed as she placed a hand on her chest. She would have liked to continue chatting, but Alanis left. Understandable, she was so popular, afterall! And so the woman stood off by herself, mentally congratulating herself for doing a good job with the gifts. That is, until a man came up. She didn't know him that well, but he was familiar enough for her to recognize his face as Todd. "Oh my, is this for me?" she asked as she took the box. "Thank you so much!" she smiled up at him. Delicately, she cracked open the box and peered inside, and immediately, her shy smile vanished. There was so much, and the moment she noticed the necklace, she turned pink. "Oh, thank you! But I can't possibly accept this!" she protested politely, averting her eyes out of self-consciousness. She had just regifted a cookbook, and this looked so much more expensive!

Shinju and January were standing off by themselves, scanning the crowd for January's secret santa. Well, Shinju was looking, her daughter was too busy admiring her new shoes to care much about this secret santa thing. They were just so pretty, the way they reflected the lights~ The little girl frowned as a shadow was cast over her feet, swallowing up the dancing dots of light on her patent leather shoes. She glanced up to see a little boy, Brody, smiling at her. He was in her class, wasn't he? She eagerly took the bag, her frown not budging despite the compliment and the gift. As far as she was concerned, everyone should give her presents and call her pretty! She WAS pretty!

Meanwhile, Shinju asked a NPC for her daughter's Secret Santa, and was soon pointed to a blue haired man. When she turned back to January, she found the girl clutching a bag and frowning at a cute little blonde boy. "January, I think I found your Secret Santa. Now, what do you say?" she bent down and placed a hand on her daughter's shoulder, trying to hide the desperation in her voice. She had been spending years trying to teach her children manners, though whatever lessons she attempted to instill in them often were overshadowed by lessons taught to them by their father or some other force outside of her control. Everyday, she hoped they would finally get it. This was not one of those day.

January peered into the bag, her face lighting up momentarily upon spotting the pony and the tiara. But as suddenly as she smiled, she quickly returned to a frown. "...It's fine." And with that, she turned on her heel and stomped off. She got her gift, she was done here!

"Thank you very much, that was very sweet of you," Shinju beamed at Brody, feeling a little too worn out to demand that January return, and she quickly hurried off to get her daughter. "Over here, January," she pointed to Finnian and gave the girl a small supportive push. Not that she needed it. January stomped straight over to Finnian and thrust the paper she had been holding at him. It was a crudely drawn "portrait" of Ferdinando, if you could count a crayon stick figure a portrait. "Secret Santa. Don't ruin it," she announced as she waved the slightly crumpled paper at him to take.

Peter had a stupid smile on his face. He always got like this when he made people happy. He got swept up in their happiness, and it lifted him to such a level of satisfaction that he couldn't help but grin. He reached up and absentmindedly scratched the place where Wilhelm kissed him on his forehead before opening the gift from Wilhelm. "Wow, thanks, Will!" he grinned wildly as he turned the CD over in his hands. "I'll listen to it as soon as I get home! Wilhelm was always the best at giving gifts! Just another thing he loved about his best friend. He continued to smile to himself until Conor came over. "Oh, hello," he managed to let out a small, surprised mumble. He only really knew Conor as John's father, something that continued to confuse him. They were so different! He continued to stare up at the man with wide, startled eyes, until he handed him something. A gift? Peter stared at the bottle in his hand for a long time. After a little while, he gave up and looked to Wilhelm for help. He was absolutely clueless. Was it a joke or something? He didn't even know it was, so how would he get the punchline? "...I don't get it."

It was quite enjoyable, actually, watching everyone give gifts and receive gifts and just look so all-around happy and content. It was enough to put a small smile on Elliot's face as she looked upon the people around her. And it persisted when Finnian came over. "Happy Stocking Day," she echoed, pleased to see her friend in such a setting. It suited him, especially dressed the way he was. "For me? Thank you?" she thanked him politely and held onto the box. She would open it later, she didn't want to get whatever was inside dirty by opening it outside! "Did you see the cookies I left in the kitchen, Finnian?" she asked. She had taken them out of the oven before she left, and she wondered if they had been noticed.

When a little blonde girl appeared to speak to Finnian, Elliot took this as her chance to slip away. She had spotted her secret santa recipient right around there, so she let out a small "Please excuse me for a moment," and strolled over to Brody. "Hello, are you Brody?" she asked. There wasn't that much of a height difference between the two of them, so she didn't have to bend over that much. Then, she pulled out a neatly wrapped present and handed it to the little boy. Inside contained a handknit sweater with a large 'B' on the front. "This is for you. Happy Stocking Day."

Rory broke into a grin as Tate came over and introduced himself. "For me? That's so kind of you!" he greeted the man, taking the gift and wasting no time in tearing a strip of wrapping paper down the middle of the package. Upon noticing the title, his grin grew so wide it made his eyes narrow as if he were squinting. "Wow, thanks so much, Tate! This is fantastic, you know." One could never have too many books, let alone ones packed full of information. He grabbed Tate's hand and shook it vigorously. He probably would have continued to stand there, and speak to the man about the book he had received, but he soon noticed his own Secret Santa. "It's nice to meetcha, Tate, but I have something I need to do. Thanks again!" And with a wave, he hurried off towards Beatrice.

"Beatrice, right?" he greeted the young woman with a smile. "Happy Stocking Festival," he handed her a little square box. Inside it contained a necklace with a piece of amber hanging from it. Inside the amber was a little beetle. This girl was so young and pretty, she probably would have wanted something a little more feminine, like makeup or earrings or something, but he had thought it was interesting, and he couldn't help but buy it.

"I'm glad you like it," Cherry smiled slightly and nodded at Talna. Actually, she would have preferred to say something polite and then slip away -- women like this always made her a little uncomfortable -- but then Talna's husband came over and handed her a turnip. For a moment, she looked at Turner with a questioning glance, as if there was a joke to be found. But after a brief moment, she understood that this was serious, and so she put on her best fake appreciative smile. "Thank you. It's a... nice looking turnip." It was tough being polite to strange people! And then Jacob came over, and she was a little perplexed again, but she quickly noticed his gesture and interpreted it as a rescue attempt. "Oh, yeah, sure," she nodded. "Thank you again," she added once more for good measure before beginning to leave the couple. It looked like Jacob had gotten trapped again, but that didn't mean she couldn't go on ahead a little.
