~Cooking Festival~

Location: Town Square
Date: Spring 15th
Time: 10am - 5pm

Grab your oven mitts 'cause pots and pans are gonna be frying! Show off your cooking skills in this amazing battle of the chefs!

Past Winners:
Year 1

Rules:

1. There will be three rounds to the cooking contest. Appetizer, Entree and Desert.

2. The player will have to post at least twice while preparing each entree, one for cooking the food, another for display. Each post will have one dice rolled to determine the success, the number of sides of said dice depends on the skill level of the character.

3. We ask that you be nice and fair with your characters (we're sure you will be!) and choose a dice in all honesty.

Roll a 4-sided dice if your character is a poor cook.
Roll a 6-sided dice if your character is an average cook.
Roll a 8-sided dice if your character is an experienced cook.
Roll a 10-sided dice if your character is an expert cook.

4. Competitors can work in teams of up to two, one character works on display (rolls the display dice) and the other on cooking (rolls the cooking dice), but this is entirely optional. Single competitors are allowed!

5. Remember that every character, even if both are your own, have a different ability at cooking. We like to see different dice rolls for different characters.

6. Take note, also, that everyone is not skilled in the same way. Keith, for example, has an excellent technique, so he will roll a 10-sided for technique, but has only an average skill for presentations, rolling 6's for them. Variety makes perfect entertainment!

Simple, no?

Theme: To be Revealed

Judges: Each Judge will also roll a 6-sided dice to judge the taste of the dish. However, they might just give you a bonus point or two if they were impressed by something else...

As the large banners strewn across a pair of lampposts over one of the entrances to town square announced, the Cooking Festival had officially opened for the new year! The square didn't have much life in it as of yet as it was still early in the day – only a few people had arrived yet, most of which seeming to just be bored housewives coming out to watch and perhaps take notes on whoever was doing well. The television had yet to get an actual cooking show, so the festival remained as relatively popular among women for that reason, but Donatella doubted that anything their local station could come up with would beat the real experience of watching locals try to win whatever the prize was. Usually free food, sometimes money, whatever the government could spare for that year. It was presumed to be better, though, with Donatella in charge; she wasn't one to boast (Complete lie; a Sonata always boasted.), but she doubted they raked in as much money even before the hurricane! If the next heir who took over followed her example, the island would become more and more like a regular city instead of some dinky small town~! But, enough of that.

Donatella was seated behind a table set up near the main entrance of the square, legs crossed and casually tapping away at the touchscreen on her PDA. She didn't always have something to do – not on a holiday like this, especially – but it was always habitual of her to make it seem like she did. People felt more secure when busy people were in command rather than lazy good-for-nothings and, if not that, then she would be less likely to be bugged about some trivial issue when she was out around the public if they thought she was too busy to approach. Only morons would come towards her for any reason outside of what she was there for – taking in applicants for the contest. The short forms were all stacked up tidily, turned away from her so they faced the onlookers instead, beside of which was a blue, glass cup with several pens inside, all ready to be used~ Now they just needed the right people to come to get it started!
