About: Alex was your typical kid. He liked to play outside with his older brother after school, and would often ride his bicycle around the neighborhood with his father on the weekends. For seven years, he had a perfectly average life. That is, until he came home one day from school to find that his mother had left. His father was torn up, angry, and shocked. Alex struggled to understand what had happened, but his brother told him that his mother had moved to New York to live her dream, and that somehow made him feel better. If his mother was happy, that was all that mattered! Of course, when he got older, he would eventually learn the truth, that she was really a lesbian and had been cheating on his father with his secretary, but until he was out of high school, he was blissfully unaware.
When he was nine years old, his father remarried. His step-mother was young and naive about the world of motherhood. But by that point he was a fairly easy child to care for, and he focused on his own things and let May play mother to her own biological children, all six of them.
He wasn't particularly close to any of his half-siblings. By the time they were old enough to play with and talk to, he was a teenager, self-absorbed in his own things. He had sparked an interest in cooking when he was fifteen, and from then on he focused on going to culinary school and one day opening his own restaurant. He moved out when he was eighteen. He went to culinary school, graduated, and began working at a San Francisco restaurant for a few years before he got sick of the city life and its complexities. He stumbled upon an advertisement for Nirvani Island and thought it would be a nice, simple place to live. He had just terminated his apartment lease when he heard that his father and step-mother had broken up. Next thing he knew, Daniel and Elliot were standing at his doorstep. It was too late to go back, so he took them with him to Nirvani, allowing River to tag along if she promised to pull her weight.
Since moving to the island, things have taken a turn for the unexpected. He worked as the inn chef for a while, for a crazy family. Seriously, it almost seemed like sexual harassment by the end there. But somehow things fell together, and he found himself the owner of his own restaurant. He's slowly been settling into his place here, and he doesn't regret coming out here anymore.
If you went up to Alex at this time and told him that, in ten years time, he'd end up marrying the strange woman who runs the local magic shop, he'd probably laugh at you, then punch you in the face for being such a ******** retard. But sure enough, somehow, he ended up married to Freja von der Bach. He thinks it has something to do with the two week long gap in his memory, but he's been too afraid to ask. And so, Alex Park, who swore that he'd be a bachelor forever, found himself married to the strangest person around, with a step-daughter and a daughter of his own... Allegedly. Hey, at least he got away from River.

Their origin can be traced back to the very first settlement on the island. In fact, they were the ones to subvention the construction of Nirvani, a good 500 years ago. Being from a rich family of merchant, it was nothing for them to take a good dozen of their boats, shove unimportant people of the society on them and force them to leave Europe to settle in the middle of the Ocean. In other words, they were the first owner and Lords of the island, rilling in wisdom and equity.... until a 100 years ago, that is.
The then Lord of the island went completely crazy. He put his youngest son in a crate and sent him through express delivery to a random address in a random country he had just made up. Suffice to say that said-son didn't felt like coming back home any time soon. Instead, he decided to roam the worlds looking for adventure! However, the only 'Adventures' he had, were called Ruthie, Monika, Lana and...Frank. Two of those people (our bet is one of them is Frank) gave him a daughter each. He kept "adventuring" with his daughters for a good twenty years until all his money ran out. Trying to win some more in poker, he instead lost all the rest... and more.
Forced to work for a loan shark in order to repay his debt, he sent his daughters back to his father, hoping that he would at least take them back, or have become crazy enough to no notice them living in the same house as him. Unfortunately the old man had died only three years after he had sent his son away and his house had been taken over by some eccentric man with too much animals for his own good.
But all hopes where not lost! The sisters were able to move into their old family log cabin somewhere in the middle of the woods, where next to the panther den! Of course, "old log cabin" for the Von Der Bach meant "Huge House" for any normal citizen, including the sisters. They tried their best to clean it up and change it into normal living quarter, but soon decided it wasn't worth it. They had 2 rooms, a kitchen, a living room and a bathroom, that was enough for them. The youngest of the two, did change another room as her workshop, loving to play with random thing to do random stuff (her words). As for the res of the mansion cabin, it remains dark, dusty and full of spider's web.... still, the oldest sister can often be found sitting in those rooms, reading an old book by candle light as a couple of spiders sleeps on her shoulder...
One morning, after being bored of being bored, Freja decided to open a shop! She would sell to the various inhabitant of the island what she knew best, that is, magic! Everything occult, from candles to tarot reading, passing through the eye of newts to the tails of rats! And let'S not forget the shrunk heads... While it might seem a bit strange thing to open, the magic shop did help her to meet two very important men in her life. The first one was the local doctor, Mao Xiqui. The two of them quickly formed a rivality-frienship. Both using the same ingredients to make various things, but one calling it "alternative medicine" and the other calling them "potions". That simple thing was enough to make them bicker every time they met. One such bickering led to and argument about the best way to raise a woman's fertility. One year later, Freja's first daughter was born, the result of a mix between "natural fertility herbs" and "Sacred Ritual". It is just too bad that they forgot to take into account that one didn't show signs of pregnancy RIGHT away, so it would remain a mystery as to which one had been the most effective...
The other male in her life was Alex Park. Having met through a blind date, they kept seeing each other, albeit, only as friends at first, after Freja showed Alex the wonders of Tarot reading. Half a decade later, while Alex was over at the magic shop and Freja was being distracted, she mixed the blood of a virgin bat with the saliva of a bullfrog between 4 and 5pm, something that anyone who knows anything about magic know will result in a terrible explosions! Stuck under the rumbles for two weeks together, what should happen, happened and they exchange words of love and their first kiss!...mainly due to them hallucinating due to some toxic vapours and having to feed themselves on dried bull testicles and pig bloods.... Still, it was enough for them to get married and move in together.
Not long after that, they both woke up one morning to find a baby sleeping with them in their bed. Both of there still aren't sure on how exactly that happened... Perhaps one spell turned wrong, maybe the fairies bringing you babies story was true.. Either way, Maxine was now in the family.

──────────────────────────────────── Born to Mao Xiqui and Freja von der Bach with some rather unusual circumstances, Xochiquetzal – or Pretzel, as her aunts decided to call her due to her ridiculous name – on the day of the Goddess Festival. The special birthdate apparently was enough explanation for her parents for her odd hair and eye color, so she never bothered to search any further into it. It wasn't as if Xochiquetzal noticed the oddity in them – not on Nirvani Island, at least. Besides, at her age, most simply assumed she had dyed her hair or had some odd disease that they didn't know of, getting her by a problem she never saw. The girl was pretty quiet, as she was when she was a baby – never speaking unless someone spoke to her first and pretty much spending her time staring at seemingly nothing for hours. Or sleeping, a task she found herself doing quite a bit. She wasn't sure what made her so tired, but she would explain it away with a 'communing with the spirits took plenty of energy' excuse – and her mother pretty much believed her, even if her father raised a brow at it. Still, she found herself sleeping most of the day away, hardly managing through school without taking a nap or two, but, somehow, she never got bad grades as a result.
Her school life aside, however, Xochiquetzal remained just as quiet and withdrawn within her families, hardly noticing her stepfather, father, mother.. or anyone but her mother's pet octopus, a creature she spends much of her time with. She does speak with her sister some, but their conversations go from an extreme of strangeness to one of utter silence – but it doesn't seem as though Maxine really cares. Or maybe she did, Xochiquetzal could never be too sure on anything but that which she knows best – the supernatural! It is in her birth rights to be ingenious on such things, after all. ────────────────────────────────────

About: Maxine's arrival in this world, it, to put it lightly, rather odd. You see, she was born on night of the Fall equinox, but that's not what was strange about her. The problem was that... Nobody remembers her being born, or her mother ever being pregnant to begin with. In fact, Alex and Freja just woke up one day to find a little girl sleeping right in between them on their bed.
The two of them being... the two of them, simply chose to go with it. For the woman, it was a gift of the fairies, for the male, it was better for his sanity to not ask any questions. What was even more odds about Maxine's birth, was that she never was a baby! The little girl sleeping was at least two years old. Still, that was less odd that her own existence, so neither of her parents ever thought twice about it.
Unfortunately for her, even through her "special" birth, Maxine never was special enough for her mother. Oh, yes, Freja took good care of the girl, like any decent mother would have, but it was nothing compared to the attention she was giving Xochiquetzal! Maxine, after all, hadn't been born on the Goddess' day and was not destined to be an Avatar for her, unlike Xochi. She tried everything to impress her mother, going as far as learning by heart most of the magic books her mother owned! Yet, nothing was good enough. Oh, Freja was proud of her, but she still wasn't a goddess Avatar!
As for her relationship with her father, it is good. He doesn't seem to threat her any different than Xochi (even though that one isn't his child), which makes her happy. She also seems to have developed her father's view of life, being extremely passive to everything surrounding her... Or maybe she's just weird. Either way, she just doesn't care! Now a middle school aged student, she manage to go through all that education without making a single real friend, perhaps due to the fact that she sits in the back and never makes a single sound... ever.

About: Not officially a member of the Von der Bach-Park family, Lotte is Freja's younger sister who lives in the basement of the house. However, it's not because she is living there than anyone actually knows she is. Due the size of the house, it's various labyrinth-like corridors and, most importantly, the various traps and secrets doors that Lotte installed, it is virtually impossible to find her room if one doesn't know exactly how to get the... if one would call that a room. A Workshop would be more appropriated, due to it's rather large size and the junk, gears and whatnot laying around. So, yes. A Workshop, for Lotte is the town's self appointed Inventor Extraordinaire! She created such inventions like the Super Mecha-Mouse Ultra-Turbo XXX! And what is the Super MechaMouse Ultra-Turbo-XXX, you may ask? Why, it's the Super Computer Lotte uses! Who can also be used as mode of transportation and a weapon. Impressive, isn't it? Too bad it's her only real invention....
Lotte usually spends her days either tinkering with various objects in order to make SMUTXXX better, roaming the mines to find ores or harassing various people around town to make them her minions. She has a good dozen of minions, but only one really works with her, Ray King, whom she just loves to torture for the fun of it. Next time, he should think twice before offering himself up for minion-works, or like he likes to call it "Apprenticeship".
