At 6:00 AM the alarm blared on the nightstand next to where Keeta lay in bed, not that she needed it. She had hardly slept all night. Today was the day! They were going to get to meet their little girl! She smiled to herself and caressed the rather large bump that held their not-so-little little one, before reaching over and turning off the alarm. Still grinning, she rolled over and wrapped her arms around Rhine as best she could with the baby between them.
"Good morning love," she said softly, barely restraining the urge to giggle. Keeta felt almost giddy. Maybe some of it was the hormones, maybe it was the nervousness she felt about the procedure, but she knew most of it was simply excitement.
Her mind was already running with all the things they needed to do that morning before they left for the hospital at nine. The actual c-section wasn't scheduled until noon, but they wanted her there so they could do all the pre-op procedures and paperwork, etc. Plus, Keeta didn't know how she might feel once they were getting into all the medical stuff. From what she could tell, her experience giving birth to Joel would be far different from what she would be experiencing today. But Rhine would be there. She knew she would be able to handle it.
They needed to get Joel and Camille ready to be without her or Rhine for the rest of the day. Keeta and Rhine had decided that they were going to try having Natalia care for the two younger children while they were at the hospital, but someone was always a phone call away. Jiao'lan was supposed to come over that evening with Mi'ako and stay the night with them, just in case. Hopefully everything would go smoothly. It would be interesting to see how things changed in the house with a new baby.
For now though...it was nice just to cuddle with her husband and imagine....

"Good morning love," Rhine opened one eye, then closed it. You could tell he was playing by the grin on his face. He opened both eyes when he felt the warmth of his wife. He reached out the caressed her stomach. He chuckled- laughing was contagious. "Someone's excited-" He teased as he wrapped his tail around her leg. He tucked Keeta's hair behind her ear before caressing her cheek.
He was doing his best to hide any concerns he might have had. The last thing he wanted to do was loose Keeta. He did not want to have to make any life choices today whether it be his wife or child. He had constantly been reassured that everything was okay and that both mom and child were healthy but still he couldn't help but have that feeling.
Past that, he too was just as giddy as her. He couldn't wait to hold the little girl, to hug her... To show her off. To say he was a excited parent was a bit of an understatement. Half the wall of his office was lined with pictures of each of their children, their art, and sonogram images. He couldn't wait to actually hand up some actually photos- especially ones of them all as a family.

"Well I would hope so," Keeta responded, continuing to smile. "Our lives are going to change today, to be even more blessed than they were before. And don't try to deny it, I know you are just as excited," she said before leaning over and kissing him.
"Buuutttt...as much as I would love to lay here with you all morning, Love, we have things to do before we can leave this morning and meet our little one." She laid back and looked at him, massaging her belly.
As if on cue, Camille opened the bedroom door, her vine-like hair a dishevled mess, like it usually was in the morning. Her pink night dress was just as rumpled and looking a little short on her. The girl had grown quite a bit lately and was now easily more than half Keeta's height. Keeta was expecting Camille would one day be a good bit taller than she was.
Keeta waved at Camille as she walked in and patted the bed beside her. The little girl hopped onto the bed and cuddled up next to her mom, sandwiching Keeta between Rhine and herself. Gently, Camille laid her head on Keeta's belly, and for a long moment she was silent, as if she was listening. She knew there was a baby in there. Keeta and Rhine had discussed it with all the children many times and had encouraged them to talk to the baby and ask questions. Even still it was a mysterious thing.
"So I'm going to have a new sister today?" Camille asked, her voice tenative as if she couldn't decide whether to be nervous or excited. As she grew, Camille's shy tendancies were waning slightly, but new things were still likely to intimidate her, so all the preparation in the world wouldn't make her completely at ease with this.

Rhine held up his hand and made a 'just a smidge' gesture with his figures. He grinned and chuckled as he ran his had across Keeta's belly.
"If I ever get to be lazy in bed go play the lottery," his kiss to her was quick because he heard the door.
"Morning." He gently brushed Camille's hair from her face and then sat contently watching her for a few silent moments. "Yes, a new sister. You'll get to teach her things. We'll all get to teach her things." Secretly he was thankful Joel was in the house other wise it would have been him 'against' the girls... Not that he was complaining considering he came from a family where he was the only boy.
Natalia nudged the door with her foot, her hip was occupied by Joel. Even if her hair was up sloppily and her clothes a bit disheveled you could tell she'd been up for a good bit. "Table's set and breakfast is just about ready." Hating to feel useless she been paying attention to Rhine for a while now.
"Morning," Rhine said as he glanced from Camille to his sister who had had her memory wiped and was made to believe he was her father. He still wondered what his mother had been thinking...

"Thank you Natalia. That was nice of you to do that for us," Keeta said with a smile, before sitting up and scooting to the edge of the bed. She patted Rhine, encouraging him to get up, giving Camille a little prod as well.
"You don't have to poke me mommy," Camille said with a giggle as she climbed off the bed.
"No?" asked Keeta. "But maybe I do have to tickle you!" Keeta leaned forward as if to grab Camille and tickle her, but the little girl was much faster than her mother. She hopped off the bed with a squeal and ran to hide behind Natalia, grinning and laughing all the while.
It felt good to act silly. Sometimes Keeta felt she wasn't silly with the children often enough. She could be so serious...
"Come on everyone, let's get to breakfast. We have a lot to do this morning."

Rhine leaned forward and took a moment to tickle Keeta and Camille before rushing out of bed. He grinned. "Up and at um'," he said as he picked up Camille and sat her down on the floor.
"Come on little momma," Rhine leaned over and scooped Keeta up. Being a dragon of sorts had its advantages at times. He kissed her before caring her to the kitchen. Not walking to fast so that Camille could keep up.
There was a look in Natalia's eyes almost as if she realized something but it was gone in seconds. With Joel on her hip she headed back for the kitchen.

Camille ran ahead of the rest of them to check out what Natalia had been doing in the kitchen
"What's for breakfast?," she asked, sniffing the air. "Smells good."
Joel wiggled in Natalia's arms to be let down. While still young, he was quickly reaching the stage where he was, in his mind at least, too big to be carried around. He wanted to run after Camille.
Keeta smiled at Rhine as he picked her up and she wrapped her arms around his neck. After returning his kiss, she leaned in and put her head against his shoulder, enjoying his closeness and the fact that he could still carry her, despite her advanced stage of pregnancy.

"Bacon, eggs, and pancakes," Natalia said as she sat Joel down. "Also I chopped up some fresh fruits." Now that her hands were free she grabbed hold of her hair and as she made a sweeping motion downward it straighten and french braided itself.
"It is either this or you sitting in my lap," Rhine grinned as he used his tail to pull out a chair for Keeta. "If you sit in my lap I'll even feed you." He enjoyed her closeness and her company. Even if he loved this job he hated having to be away from her. He was looking forward to having this entire day with her and the kids and soon their new addition.

"As much as it might be comical for the children to watch you feed me, I think I would rather feed myself today, while I still have two free hands. Somehow I suspect that the next time we sit down to a family meal, at least one of my hands will be full." Keeta chuckled and kissed him on the cheek before sitting down.
"I will gladly invite you feeding me later tonight though I'm sure."
Camille bounded over to Natalia, more energetic than usual with the energetic vibe that was flowing through the family.
"What can I do to help?"

Knowing that family preferred her to no do thinks based on whims and hand movements she nodded. "Sure Camille," she grinned and handed her the plates. "Set these on the table please. I'll get the forks and such."
"I'll hand feed you anytime," Rhine whispered as he tucked some of her hair behind her ear. Once she pushed in he sat down also. He made no moves to help at all. It was nice to for once be the one that was not doing the cooking and serving. Though if asked he would have done it.
