I was just curious, howlong after having sex does it take for morning sickness to hit? My reason for asking is that my boyfriend and myself had sex for the first time just over 2 weeks ago (It was protected). I'm supposed to get my period today and I haven't gotten it just yet... I know I'm probably just over reacting but knowing this would make me feel a bit better. Also, I did just get a bad cold... so I was just thinking maybe that could have some affect to it as well... Thank you for your time! edit: I got my period this morning... I forgot to take my pill a couple days ago so i guess it just made me a day late... sweatdrop ... thanks for the advice and all though everyone!

Well, in terms of pregnancy, you can have some, none or all of the symptoms some, none or all of the time. Only about 60% of women even get morning sickness when they are pregnant. And then it varies as to when and to what extent they have it. Some it starts right away at implantation [7-10 days in], some it takes 5 or 6 weeks to get going. Me, I got it around week 6 and it lasted roughly 20 days and then never reared its head again.
If you're really worried, just get a test and take it, that's the only way to know for sure because those symptoms can be anything honestly; they're so vague.

Agreed, you'd be surprised how many other things early pregnancy symptoms can apply to. It really varies from woman to woman. Testing is the only way to know for sure!

That is a HORRIBLE way to test if you are pregnant. If I tell you "exactly 20 days" you will wait twenty days and, if you haven't yet had your period, start feeling really sick just because you are so worried and anticipating it.
Not only that, but worrying about a possible pregnancy can even make your period late! Bodies are horrible like that. They like to mess with us.
If you are worried, get a pregnancy test. If you are still worried, get another pregnancy test. If you are still worried, go see a doctor. Chances are, though, your doctor will just prescribe a "chill pill." Relax, you're only a day late, the more anxious you get the worse your body will react. So just relax and get a home pregnancy test.
