History
Internet Co. wanted to utilize the voice of a singer for the creation of Vocaloid but felt it would be difficult to get a singer to agree. They consulted Dwango Co.,Ltd. who suggested Gackt . He lent his voice and named the Vocaloid, Gackpoid. The product was originally intended to be released in June 2008, but though Gackt existed as a model for the Vocaloid, its illustrated avatar was yet to be determined. Finally a popular manga author, Kentaro Miura, famous for his dark fantasy epic Berserk, was asked to do the illustration . Due to Miura's affection for Nico Nico Douga, he agreed to offer his services as a character designer for free. Gackpoid was released on July 31, 2008.

Usage for Music
Gackpoid has one of the most quality voices in the Vocaloid 2 era voicebanks and one of the biggest depth ranges amongst the males. His popularity has led to a number of songs in different genres including Pop, heavy metal/rock, and disco. His pronunciations are overall smoother than most other Vocaloids and he was the only Japanese male vocal that could produce a low vocal tone until VY2's release. He is one of Internet Co., Ltd's "Vocaloid Artist" voicebank. His voicebank was praised for his more realisitc results in comparison to Cypton's "Character Vocal" series Vocaloids and offered the user much more professional results in comparison.

Personality
Another great dramatic vocaloid Kamui Gakupo is a odd mix not only of old and new but of narcissism and kindness. Voiced by the famous pop singer Gackt ,this vocaloid seems to have inherited some of that lager then life personality ,because out of all the vocaloids no one seem to be more in love with them-self's then Gakupo. Wile he takes himself very seriously (which more often then not ends up being more funny then dramatic) he is not afraid to show his playful side, often joking around with others in the form of flirting and just plain random act's. Oddly enough his indulgences in himself is what brings out some of this best quality's , Gakupo see's him self as a warrior of music (aka a Samurai) and there for tries to live by the rules of Bushido ,which consist of the act of Justice ,Courage, Benevolence, Respect, Honesty, Honor and Loyalty.
also fun fact the sword he carries is called Miburi and make sounds as a musical instrument when it is swung down.

enency KuroiStar I heart this thread~~ It's my favorite Vocaloid ever~ thank you so much ,im so happy someone likes this. to tell the truth he was a little hard to pin down. ^_^ I'd bet! Although he is a well loved character, there's actually not a lot out there on the American websites about him at all! But yes, he is awesomeness, which is why I totally appreciate you making this thread for him ^-^
