Al Davis, Owner of the Oakland Raiders, and one of thee pioneers in sports who helped turn the NFL into thee biggest sport in the United States passed away this morning, he was 82.
Al Davis has been one of the more colorful NFL owners in recent years, and had a very rebellious way in how he ran his organization. As a result he built the Raiders into a power house and one of the more popular teams in the entire NFL. Though his final years since the Raiders loss in Superbowl XXXVII was spent loosing and him trying to rebuild the Raider Nation to the proud glory it once had, he has left his mark on the NFL and Sports as a whole, and was an important figure in turning American Football into the phenomenon that it is today.

You don't have to like him but you gotta respect him. He did a lot for football. R.I.P Al Davis! Hope the Raiders can pull it together and give us an amazing season!
