R'nan had to keep himself from gaping at the news. Quite a number, she said?
Is that what you were so upset about before? R'nan and Burmeth hadn't been together, but R'nan could still feel Burmeth's emotions, even if he was still getting used to it. Why didn't you tell me?
I only thought that it would upset you. I did not want you to be upset, Mine. Secretly, Burmeth was quite happy His had not been at the hatching to watch.

"Oh, I was helping prepare for all this, actually!" he said, waving a hand to the tables and stalls. "I sort.. of volunteered myself for it." More accurately, he had gotten into an argument with the Head Woman and talked himself into a hole so deep, the only way out was to agree to help.

R'nan tried to sound indifferent about it, "Well, you know, it wasn't a big deal," He shrugged a shoulder and patted Burmeth on the head. After all, he'd already found his dragon, he didn't need to worry about that anymore. "I was just sorry that I didn't get to see who all impressed. But I suppose I'll see you all in lessons and chores and stuff."

R'nan smiled. He'd successfully met one new weyrling, just several dozen more to go. Only, in all the rush to get to know her, he realized he had already forgotten her name.
It's Lorend. Burmeth reminded him. Lorend and Tribleth.
You remembered that?
She was interesting. I like her.

"We're going to be in so much trouble," R'yn said, but he was grinning. He knew better than to believe that. The Weyrleader had been in the same situation not that long ago, and R'yn remembered it well. "So much trouble." He paused, and kissed her cheek. "Not really," he added. "I remember when T'rel got in trouble with the candidate master, he and Ky't did. They were behind the candidate barracks and--well. They got caught. He was peeling tubers for sevendays!" He grinned. "But the candidate master's a lot more understanding these days," he said.

He led her in the dance, awkwardly. It was more revolving in slow circles than truly dancing. "I'm sorry I didn't realize before," he added. "I should have... T'rel telling me I was sick..." he shook his head in disbelief before grinning. "Can't believe I fell for it!"

The feast was well underway when I'dan and I'man - or I'mana? - walked out of the weyrling barracks to join the festivities. The first part of the delay had consisted of the twins moving I'mana's things to the girls' side of the barracks; the rest had been simple procrastination on I'mana's part.

She walked a few steps behind her brother and Luth, brown Wookith by her side, rumbling quietly in his throat to reassure her. She held her spine straight, arms stiff by her sides, moving slowly. What would happen? She glanced down at her clothing, trying not to be obvious about it. The trousers she wore were more form-fitting than she had become accustomed to, making her feel somewhat on display, and her feminine undergarments, rather than the bindings she was used to, didn't help. All in all, the loose blouse that coloured her top half a rich brown-red did nothing to disguise her figure - for the first time at the Weyr, she stood in front of everyone, clearly female. Nobody was looking at her, of course, but it didn't keep her from being self conscious.

She found herself a position near the outside of the gathering, settling down beside Wookith with one arm draped over his sturdy neck, drawing security from his presence while trying not to look like that was what she was doing.

I'dan found himself torn. His sister had just been through a rather harrowing experience, and his innate sense of loyalty told him to stay by her side. However, the excited young bronze dragon that was his lifemate had other ideas, and he was finding himself desiring to join the others.

So he stood there, conflicted. His eyes darted between his sister, who appeared to be taking no notice of him, and the long table surrounded by people and laden with food.

Finally, he decided to move toward the table. He could socialize briefly, and then return with food for himself and his twin. He headed in that direction.

Laughing slightly, Ticene couldn't help but smile when R'yn pointed out that they going to get in trouble. They probably would get in trouble, they'd been told during candidacy not to be in relationships and then again after Impressing that they weren't to do anything. This wasn't a situation they could plead ignorance in. Tic couldn't understand it though, they'd said it might damage a dragon's mind, but if anything Calith seemed pleased with the events. "I don't care if we get in trouble." The somewhat cocky smile that was so characteristic of Tic appeared. If it was really that bad then they would keep it a secret until they graduated. A faint blush swept up into Ticene's face when R'yn kissed her cheek. It was going to take a while to get used to that, but she was looking forward to it.

"Shame we won't be dealing with the candidate master." If he was more understanding now then it would presumably be easier to get away with it. "But T'rel certainly can't complain about us if he was carrying on since before he even Impressed." Now that early it might be a problem. Tic could remember how possessive Calith had been of her for those first weeks. She'd managed to accept others around eventually, but Ticene couldn't say that the dragon would have been able to cope if she'd been involved with anyone.

The Weyrling smiled as R'yn apologised, now that was like him. As tempting as it was, she decided against pointing out that it had even taken her making the first move for him to realise. "He shouldn't have told you that in the first place. What if you really had stopped being around me because he'd convinced you that I was making you sick?" Even if the idea was ridiculous, Tic still didn't like it. She'd have been sad if R'yn had started avoiding her and she was sure he would have been sad had he tried to do it.

Why did they have to attend this feast? He saw no point to it, too many people that were annoying. Tasryn had to keep herself from giggling, such a grumpy one she'd Impressed to. Already he was assuming that everyone was annoying, but he hadn't even met them. "Don't be like that Ankith. I'm sure they're not all annoying." She said, trying to soothe him while also trying not to jar her shoulder too much. Really, it still throbbed just a bit, but she couldn't complain. Today was such a good day after all! After Ankith had eaten as much as he could, she'd been plucked right from the sands by the healers and dragged off to get her shoulder taken care of. The blue following closely behind while muttering threats about hurting his. That is, he was threatening the healers until he finally fell asleep. Which was good, because getting the wound cleaned and fixed up had hurt almost as much as when his claw had torn through the skin. And she didn't want any more violent acts so early in the day.

Thankfully, she had gotten that done and ended up falling asleep next to her new partner. Sleeping for most of the day until his hunger woke the both of them up. So she ended up feeding him one more time before making their way back to the barracks to get ready for the feast. But they'd taken too long, either from the visit from the healer to warn her about too much movement could re-open her wound, or with the very slow dressing. Either way, the new blue pair strolled into the feast not too far behind the twins before awkwardly standing there and looking around. What to do? Ankith didn't seem to want to socialize and she...she just didn't know what to do. "Let's just get me something to eat, I might even let you have a bit if you're good." Giggling to herself, she led them towards the tables while cradling her arm as close as possible. It wouldn't do to end up bumping into anyone, that healer had been very strict about it! Tasryn was not one to go against a healer's orders.
