So some friends and I are putting together an airship crew of merchant spies. We have a captain/spy, socialite/spy, tech guru, doctor/opium smuggler, and me.
There was a lot of discussion about what my character should be.
What they came up with: heavy weapons shaman.
While this maybe the the most epic phrase ever written in a Facebook thread, it makes no sense at all.
To me at least (for a start, shamans are supposed to be healers...). I was hoping someone might have some insight, specifically on how one might go about clothing a steampunk heavy weapons shaman, as clothing is my area of specialization. One of the other crew members has already decided to make me a shoulder-mounted gattling gun.
The one clothing idea we've come up with is to somehow combine a wolf headdress with goggles, aviator-cap style, but I don't have any ready access to wolf pelts. We're considering making a hat that looks a bit like wolf head out of craft foam treated to look like leather.

Rune-inscribed bullets in a bandolier. Grenades with feathers and charms on them.

how about a wrist gantlet with various needles and syringes attached to bottles of 'mystery fluid' for the healer bit. a pack perhaps with a gunbelt feeding into the gatling, pipes from the pack for vents, could have the pack covered in parts with fack fur from a crafts store. (my brother made a tie from fake giraffe fur)

Mylian Rune-inscribed bullets in a bandolier. Grenades with feathers and charms on them. Ooh, that works. I like that a lot. Still a touch hazy on actual clothing, but any concrete idea helps :3

for clothing see about fringed leather or leather patchwork (faux and fish leather if you're vegetarian) a furred hood with mache horns or antlers to cinch the deal.

Leather is always good XD And I'd been thinking about adding antlers but not knowing how to get some. Paper mache is a good idea, I'll try that. Thanks!

I'd go with ram horns myself.

Mylian I'd go with ram horns myself. It's gonna be a tough decision as to what kind of horns, and probably decided by whatever it is that I'm able to make ^^;;

perhaps a skull with the antlers/horns would be good, a sort of druid look.
You could try a poncho or shawl, some kind of rough material. heavy duty work gloves (with or without the rune/gem on the back) a loincloth over breeches with characters on it?

Know where I can get deer skulls? Cause I've always wanted one. Just to have... Shawls are good. Gloves are also good. I was thinking about a loincloth-like thing - in the style of yon Warcrafters. Might be what you were thinking of. I'm also trying to come up with a design that would incorporate some natural symbol (tree, animal, elements, etc) with machine parts. Which will probably be mostly stolen from Google Images...

Dunno yet if I'll pay twenty bucks for the head of a rodent, but twelve dollars for twenty coyote teeth doesn't sound like a bad deal. Thanks!
