A soft sigh escaped the lips of this young spawn as he sat on a nearby bench outside of the movie theater. His foot tapped impatiently against the concrete sidewalk and his tail twitched in anticipation. He kept his dual-colored eyes downcast, but every once in a while, if someone walked by, those eyes would peer up in hope, only to drift back downward in disappointment. The tapping foot increased its pace as Llujah became more and more agitated. Surely he wouldn't be this late, would he? How long had it been? This was the correct time, wasn't it? Did Llujah get the wrong address? Doubtful thoughts swam in his mind as the time continued to pass, and the young spawn's date still failed to show up.
The Greed spawn bit his lip lightly as he smoothed out the skirt of his purple and black plaid dress with laced, elbow-length, finger-less gloves upon his hand. He itched to get his cell phone to check for the time and text his date, but tried and tried to resist. He should place more faith in his date, he knew. It wouldn't be long now until his date would show. He would show up. He wouldn't stand Llu up... Would he? Oh, God, Llu hoped not. He wasn't sure if he could take that kind of rejection. After all, this was his first real date. With a real guy. It wasn't someone particularly special, true. Just a kid that was a few of Llu's classes. He had talked with the kid for a short time, and he seemed okay. He was pretty handsome, too, which was a total plus. Llujah wasn't too sure, though...
Arrghh, it seemed like he had been waiting forever! What was taking him so long?! Unable to resist the temptation any longer, Llujah reached into his dress pocket and pulled out his neon-pink cell phone. He was shocked to discover that the time was in fact 3:35. "What the hell!" The movie had started twenty minutes ago! And he still hadn't shown up! There was no sign of him anywhere; not on the sidewalk, not in the parking lot, not anywhere!
...He wasn't going to show up, was he? No... He probably wasn't. He probably didn't have any intentions to show up at all. Llujah's gaze hardened as he stared at the ground, his hands clenching his phone tightly in his lap. A flustered and angry flush of color rushed to Llu's freckled cheeks and his eyes began to water. "...Bastards."

If there was one thing that Gabriel was not expecting to find on his day off, it was a familiar little ball of pink-and-purple fluff that he hadn't seen in... well, quite a long time at this point. In fact, last he'd seen that girl, he was still younger than she was, after all!
His trip to the theatre was not the usual sort (consume the Dance Dance Revolution game until kicked out, making bets with random strangers and winning lots of money), but this time a treat. An actual treat, for himself! After having been wrapped up in the house for so long, awake only at night to practice his ballet, he'd wanted a chance to go out during the day, enjoy the sunshine! Sure, it didn't quite go as planned, with his eyes screaming at the sunlight after so long, and leaving him going out in a light jacket, sunglasses, and a baseball cap; more civilian clothes than he would usually consent to wearing.
But on top of it, in his pocket was a wallet, in which were two bills: Twenty five dollars in total. Twenty-five dollars, once a month, as Elias had kindly and wonderfully agreed to give him, in order to prevent the breakdown that had happened earlier in the week. As he would also provide hosting for a friend or two each month as well, it was asked that Gabriel generally keep the money-supplied day as one that he spent by himself, but when those deep red eyes of his grazed over the lithe form that sat, eyes lowered and filled with tears, so pretty on a bench by her lonesome, he had to backpedal, glancing over the edge of his glasses at her.
"...Holly?" he asked, smiling a bit before he noticed again the tears in his friend's eyes. The smile faded, and he knelt in front of the other, gently brushing the tips of his fingers beneath one of her eyes, giving her a supportive smile. "Now-now... what has such a pretty girl so sad...?"

The sound of that old and familiar nickname, and the voice that accompanied it, caused Llujah to poause momentarily. 'Holly?' He hadn't that name in a long time. In fact, the only person who ever called him that was the Pride spawn, Gabriel. Yes, that young, happy Gabriel. It had been so long since Llu had last seen his younger friend. But this voice that called him by his nickname wasn't exactly like Gabriel's voice. It was much too bass to be his. But still...
Llujah's eyes widened as a green-scaled finger gingerly brushed the dangerous tears from his cheeks. The faintest of blushes colored his face where those fingers had touched as he glanced upward and saw, to his utter surprise, a much older and much more... handsome Gabriel. He looked even older than Llujah now, and still he used that female-nickname! Could he not tell, even after all of this time, that Llujah was a boy? ...How amusing.
"G-Gabriel! Oh my God, it's so nice to see you! You've gotten... so much taller." Llujah noted this as he looked his old friend up and down. He looked very slender and fit, and... Damn. He looked fine. But enough of that! Gabriel was concerned for him, after all! Llu smiled a little and chuckled awkwardly. "Oh, it's... It's nothing really. Nothing I should be crying over, honestly, heh." As he spoke, his wings flicked anxiously. His eyes still looked about for any sign of his date, but the motions were a touch more frantic then they were before.
"I'm just... Well... See, I was waiting here for, um..." The spawn absently brushed a stray piece of bubble-gum pink hair behind his pointed ears. "...For my date. We were gonna see a movie, but he hasn't shown up yet, and the movie started almost half an hour ago, so..." His eyes became watery and filled with tears again, threatening to spill over. "...Yeah." How embarrassing.

Ego boost after ego boost reminded Gabriel of exactly why he pursued company so fervently once upon a time. The young man frowned at the story, heart pained for the tears that threatened to run down Llujah's smooth, freckled cheeks. Once more did his green-tipped fingers reach up to gently wipe away any hint of saline from the edges of the lovely girl's eyes. "Come now, if he didn't show up, he's definitely not worth crying over, is he?
"What a jerk..." he grumbled, getting a bit theatrical as he got to his feet and glared in an innocent direction. "Abandoning a pretty girl all alone in front of a movie theatre! She could get hurt, all alone like that! Or worse!! And breaking his promise on top of that! He deserves to be arrested, or at least a terrible punishment, and I think that I have an idea for what that could be..." he stated, first toward the direction he'd chosen, and then with a sly smile toward the lonesome girl. Polite as he had never been, he knelt at her feet once more, taking one of her hands and kissing the back of it.
"I would be happy to go with you to a movie, Holly. Especially to get back at an a*****e," Gabriel said with a smile, standing and lifting the now-shorter female off of the bench. Idly, he mused on their new height-comparisons and briefly wondered how old his friend was, but that was written off almost immediately as his red eyes drifted over the movie advertisements. "...what were you going to see? Well, if that started there's probably not one for a long time, so what else do you wan'na see?"

Gabriel's theatrics toward his conundrum were fairly amusing to behold, and Llujah had to stifle a small chuckle as his friend ranted and raved about what a good-for-nothing his supposed date was for standing Llu up. How kind it was of Gabriel to be so concerned over him... Even if he did still think that Llujah was a girl. Still. Here he was, a teenager, flat chest and lowered voice abundant. He knew that it was partially his own fault for not telling him in the first place that he was a cross-dresser, and so made all efforts to look like a girl. ...Still. You'd think he would sort of catch on by now.
A much more fierce blush painted Llujah's cheeks as Gabriel gently lifted his hand and kissed it. Kissed it! Oh my God, oh my God! He had never been kissed like that before! Well, he had been kissed before by his mama, but everyone knew that that didn't count. But here, here was Gabriel, acting so gentlemanly and chivalrous, kissing his hand and offering to take him to a movie! And man, he was handsome...
"Wha- Oh! You would take me to see a movie, Gabriel? R-really? Thank you! Oh my God, thank you so much! That's so nice!" How sweet of him! Taking Llu to see a movie in place of Llu's stupid-a** date. Former date, rather, heh-heh. The Greed spawn beamed as his now-older friend helped him off of the bench. Llu noticed his friend's eyes gravitating toward the movie advertisements nearby. After pocketing his phone, Llu smoothed out his skirt and glanced over in the direction of the posters. "Well... He said that he wanted to see this psychological thriller-type movie. I dunno. I thought it looked kind of creepy, honestly. But..." The spawn's eyes examined the posters greedily, eyeing each one with a curious gaze. They all looked pretty good...
"...Mm, what about that one?" He pointed a painted finger in the direction of a newer movie: a romantic drama, with a twinge of suspense. "Should we go see that one?" Llu looked up at Gabriel beside him, hoping with all of his might that Gabriel would agree with his decision.
