Nickname: Zen
Age:17
Gender: Male
Appearance:

Background: Zen descends from a branch family of the Asagami Clan, known for producing Meisters that were capable of manifesting psychic talents and abilities thanks to what they call the unique 'Mental-In' wavelength, which allowed them to utilize the full capacity of the human brain without the negative side effects that would result from it. Though the abusal of this power without the proper training or mental fortitude would end in the user damaging themselves regardless and several of the lesser skilled members of the clan have been known to have destroyed their own brains and reduce themselves to a vegitative state, while others find themselves influenced far too easily by the madness of others due to being unable to safeguard their own minds and driven to insanity. This resulted in an attempted culling of the Clan by outside organizations and fueds that had started from ancient times, and those that inherited the 'Mental-In' wavelength started to decrease. Once the Asagami allied themselves to Shibusen, and at the same time allowing them to be willingly regulated by Shinigami and his laws, the culling stopped and members of the Asagami, who had fled and created the branch families from the main house, returned.
The boy in question comes from the Aogami Family, whose ancestors had migrated to the Americas in search of sanctuary while keeping records of the Clan's past as a whole, and adding to the archives in hopes that they could use them to reachieve the Asagami Clan's former glory. The Aogamis did not produce any members carrying the 'Mental-In' wavelength, which some attributed to the fact that they began marrying out of the Clan and to foreigners without care of their own lineage and ancestry, tainting what purity they had left and ruining the chances for a member to be born with the power their family once prided themselves upon. That held true until Zen's birth, where when the ability revealed itself despite his lack of power, the family rejoiced and declared him the Seventh Heir to the family, also known as the "Blue" making him the "Seventh Blue" as a result. This meant he was destined for a life of learning, solitude, and personal sacrifice in order to achieve something greater for the whole, in other words, a life of complete boredom without anything interesting to do and being forced to sit around with stinky old men preaching about dead people he didn't care about. Now if they were dead women that'd be something for him to go on but they weren't, so he continued not to care.
But the potential of someone who carried Zen's wavelength was great, as a psychic could make for good interrogators and skilled intelligence operatives if trained correctly and carefully watched. The Aogami knew this and tried to hide Zen's ability for as long as they could until he used it to flip the skirt of a girl during a congenial visit to Death City where the main house, the Asagami, had relocated, as well as to offer their customary thanks to Shinigami. This left the Aogami with two choices, allow Zen to become a student at Shibusen or have him taken away regardless and entrusted to the main house, where they would have him become a student of Shibusen regardless and any claim to fame the boy might earn would be given entirely to them. Zen's parents wanted nothing more for the boy to be happy, as opposed to the Aogami elders who wished only for more recognition to the family name, and Zen himself was excited to go to a place where for once, the only girls around him weren't ones he were related too.
Partner: He’ll Find One Soon
Abilities:
Technique Name: Mental-In
Effects/Description: Zen is capable of freely manipulating his soul wavelength via his mind without the need of 'self resonance', because a person's wavelength itself is ordinarily invisible, this allows him to move things about with it in a manner similar to telekinesis. At his current level the boy can only lift objects that he could do so with his own hands. He also lacks the precision to grab tiny things like bullets and can only manipulate about five objects at once, while picking up one object at a time. The less objects he's moving about the easier it is, and if he's wielding the maximum he'd be too busy concentrating on them to do anything else. Currently cannot be used along with Ether-Lite if it's active
Technique Name: Ether-Lite
Effects/Description: Using his wavelength, Zen can establish 'connections' with others to send them telepathic messages, unlike Mental-In, this can be seen by those using soul perception as a thin wire made of his wavelength connecting from the back of Zen's head to the back of whoever he's attempting to make contact with. Through this connection a constant telepathy can be maintained, though it works faster the closer they are, and runs the risk of being broken if the Ether-Lite line is stretched too far. Zen can maintain the distance for a quarter of a mile without the need to concentrate continually on it, with a current limit of three people, and he has to touch someone and concentrate in order for the connection to be made, being able to mark one person at a time. In order for Ether-Lite to be set, Zen must focus on the target uninterrupted, especially if it's being done unwillingly, making it impractical to attach during the midst of combat as it would leave him open and something to be done before. He isn't skilled enough to do it in the middle of a conversation or while having other things on his mind either. However if he is connected with more than one person he then needs to focus solely on the person or persons he wants to send a message too. In the case of reading other people's minds he can only get surface thoughts, and too many of them will force him to block it out, interfering with any concentration in battle. Strong wavelengths or wavelength based attacks can also disrupt the connection. Mental In cannot be used if Zen is using this ability and connected with someone else.
Technique Name: Soul Perception
Effects/Description: Allows Zen to 'see' the souls of others. Zen cannot see souls in further depth yet. He is capable of spotting souls from the equivalent of two city blocks away if he concentrates hard enough and doesn't have any interruptions, needing to stay in the same spot without moving. Without concentrating his range is half a city block. Zen is capable of seeing through a witch’s Soul Protect, and views souls as simple orbs, colored and decorated differently according to the person.

Personality: Zen is a very outgoing person who can’t stay mad at anything for very long. Zen is willing to risk his life and even die protecting his friends and especially trying to complete his objectives. He is rarely concerned with the consequences of his actions, doing what he feels and thinks is right. He likes for all things to be free and nothing to be cage. Unless they are an enemy, but even then he believes in second chances. He likes to speak his mind and most people don't like him for it. Wild, competitive and extremely protective, Zen is not one that is capable of backing down. He is a strong fighter, and is very determined in all aspects of his life. Strong willed, animalistic, humane, loves to draw, but hates to work. He acts on impulse and has quite the stretch of patience but a short temper at the same time, and won't take crap from anybody.
