She was alone. Alone in the darkness. Numb, blind, deaf, mute. Screw pits of fire and pain, this was hell. She thrashed around in the darkness. Find something, anything. There was nothing, not even the ground beneath her feet. Alone. Alone! She screamed, but no sound. Please, anything, even a squeak! Just something to end this....nothing. This terrible, horrible nothing. She screamed harder the desperation raking through her heart.
Fear.
Darkness.
The she saw him. Him! He was here, she wasn't alone! Never alone again. He was all she needed. He was all she wanted. He wrapp ed his arms around her and held her close. The warmth, it filled her with light. She could stay here forever "I Love you, Nim"
.......
And then he was gone. And she was alone again. Groaning to herself, she forced her eyes open. Damnit, she missed it. She Missed the man from her dream. Would she trade her reality for her dreams? Yes, in a heart beat. A thousand times over.
But...no
'He did...and I...'
no, never...no!
'...He betrayed me'
She dashed the tears from her eyes before she could humiliate herself further. No, no thinking about that. That was the past, and today was the present. And she was a survivor. She was alive...right? Somedays it felt like she'd broken something. Something inside that would never heal. A black smudge that she couldn't wipe away.
No, Stop it. Time to get up, find some food and then...then what? Nothing. No, not nothing, she'd find something." Right. Just one step at a time" A cheery smile painted on her face she set off. Like maybe if she kept smiling one day it would seem real

Thwack! A dull crack sounded through the forest Thwack! Thwack! She was sweaty and panting. Poor tree, deep cuts crissed-crossed it's surface. It's brothers and sisters bore similar markings, a result of her daily training sessions. Hmph. She smirked to herself. "You can take the fox out of the guild, but not the guild out of the fox." She said with a low chuckle. Sigh, her guild. Where her friends lived and worked together. They'd recieve assignments there, targets that needed eliminating. Any food, trinkets, objects recieved as payment were shared. They shared everything.
Ok, she needed to stop that train of thought. Right now. Stupid tree. She stuck her tounge out at it in a comical way. Her ear twitched at the sound of rustling. And there she was, amoung the bushes, her paw trapping a rabbit. Funny how she never thought, it was just second nature. Of course, she was a 'daeva, so everyone thought she was ready to attack them. Modidaevas were the brutes of her kind. Thugs, killers, no wonder she became a hitman. Fine, she could be cruel. She grabbed the rabbits head, and squeezed. The rabbit shreiked in pain, thrashing around. But she was stronger. Just a little more, and bye-bye rabbit.
Come on. Do it.
She sighed. "Go on, scat!" And the rustling of foliage was all that was left behind.
