Eliya~
The mage assassin kept a careful eye out the window as Coraline finished mopping up the mess. Her focus was not just the small village, but the heavily used road slightly farther away. So far so good. The little town was as dark as night and with no apparent movement. Everyone had retired for the night and was unaware of what had transpired next door. She turned to check on the younger Altmer once more, and saw that though she had successfully cleaned up most of the mess, there was still, as Eliya had feared, residue staining from the blood. Thankfully Coraline proved to be resourceful (a very important trait in any job, not just in the dark brotherhood) and spilled some wine in the same spot. That should take care of the stain unless someone was desperate to prove a murder. Their job was to make sure no one had any reason to even suspect.
She returned her gaze to keeping watch as the recruit went over the house looking for anything of value. In the distance a small light suddenly appeared, and Eliya had to peer closely for a minute before she was certain. There was someone coming down the road. They needed to hurry and get out of here. At this late at night there was a strong possibility of it being an Imperial Guard. He would likely stop by and checkout the town. Eliya turned quickly from the window and approached Coraline, who was trying unsuccessfully to lift the body by herself. There was alot the young woman was trying to prove tonight, but Eliya did not blame her in the slightest. In response to Coraline's question, the older Altmer used a telekinesis spell to lift the dead man's body. "We need to get out of here. I spotted a traveler a ways up the road. It could potentially be a legionnaire." The mage assassin did another quick glance around the room. It definitely appeared as though he had left in a hurry. "I'm going to have to keep recasting this spell every twenty seconds so lets go."
Eliya really wanted to cast a spell of invisibility or chameleon as well, she could perhaps touch the dead mans's body and conceal them both, but that still left Coraline, and either way if any of them were seen....not to mention the mental strain of keeping up two spells continuously, while not particularly difficult, could take a bit a way from her attention and cause her to blunder. More then that even, was the mental strain she had to commit to, to use this spell on such a heavy body. Considering they were in a hurry, this did not seem like the best idea. "Make sure there is absolutely no blood left in that chair or anywhere else as we make our way to dispose of the body." It was an order, a quick one. Even as the words left her lips, she noticed for the first time a ring on the corpses' finger. Without a word she slipped it off his finger and into one of her own pockets, intending to study it further at a later point.
Cautiously Eliya opened the front door and stuck her head out. Oh how she wished this one room house had a back door. The rider was still a ways off and the town was dark with no one stirring. Eliya led the body out the door and quickly directed around and behind the house so that the houses were between them and the road. Recast telekinesis. Into the woods they walked until they were far enough away that they could drag him and not worry about anyone seeing blood. If a wanderer passed by a blood trail they would assume it was an animal. "So how do you suggest we dispose of the body, Coraline?" Another test. They could bury his body, but then animals would like dig it up anyways and there would be that extra work of digging with no shovel.....it wouldn't be good to leave it to the animals just in case a wandering villager decided to take a walk before the animals got to the body. Unless they found an animal lair nearby....but Eliya didn't want to waste time looking for one, and granted it was night and that left quite a few hours before that possible scenario, but still Eliya didn't like to take unnecessary risks. Perhaps they should just burn the body beyond recognition.
