Eliya~

The mage assassin kept a careful eye out the window as Coraline finished mopping up the mess. Her focus was not just the small village, but the heavily used road slightly farther away. So far so good. The little town was as dark as night and with no apparent movement. Everyone had retired for the night and was unaware of what had transpired next door. She turned to check on the younger Altmer once more, and saw that though she had successfully cleaned up most of the mess, there was still, as Eliya had feared, residue staining from the blood. Thankfully Coraline proved to be resourceful (a very important trait in any job, not just in the dark brotherhood) and spilled some wine in the same spot. That should take care of the stain unless someone was desperate to prove a murder. Their job was to make sure no one had any reason to even suspect.

She returned her gaze to keeping watch as the recruit went over the house looking for anything of value. In the distance a small light suddenly appeared, and Eliya had to peer closely for a minute before she was certain. There was someone coming down the road. They needed to hurry and get out of here. At this late at night there was a strong possibility of it being an Imperial Guard. He would likely stop by and checkout the town. Eliya turned quickly from the window and approached Coraline, who was trying unsuccessfully to lift the body by herself. There was alot the young woman was trying to prove tonight, but Eliya did not blame her in the slightest. In response to Coraline's question, the older Altmer used a telekinesis spell to lift the dead man's body. "We need to get out of here. I spotted a traveler a ways up the road. It could potentially be a legionnaire." The mage assassin did another quick glance around the room. It definitely appeared as though he had left in a hurry. "I'm going to have to keep recasting this spell every twenty seconds so lets go."

Eliya really wanted to cast a spell of invisibility or chameleon as well, she could perhaps touch the dead mans's body and conceal them both, but that still left Coraline, and either way if any of them were seen....not to mention the mental strain of keeping up two spells continuously, while not particularly difficult, could take a bit a way from her attention and cause her to blunder. More then that even, was the mental strain she had to commit to, to use this spell on such a heavy body. Considering they were in a hurry, this did not seem like the best idea. "Make sure there is absolutely no blood left in that chair or anywhere else as we make our way to dispose of the body." It was an order, a quick one. Even as the words left her lips, she noticed for the first time a ring on the corpses' finger. Without a word she slipped it off his finger and into one of her own pockets, intending to study it further at a later point.

Cautiously Eliya opened the front door and stuck her head out. Oh how she wished this one room house had a back door. The rider was still a ways off and the town was dark with no one stirring. Eliya led the body out the door and quickly directed around and behind the house so that the houses were between them and the road. Recast telekinesis. Into the woods they walked until they were far enough away that they could drag him and not worry about anyone seeing blood. If a wanderer passed by a blood trail they would assume it was an animal. "So how do you suggest we dispose of the body, Coraline?" Another test. They could bury his body, but then animals would like dig it up anyways and there would be that extra work of digging with no shovel.....it wouldn't be good to leave it to the animals just in case a wandering villager decided to take a walk before the animals got to the body. Unless they found an animal lair nearby....but Eliya didn't want to waste time looking for one, and granted it was night and that left quite a few hours before that possible scenario, but still Eliya didn't like to take unnecessary risks. Perhaps they should just burn the body beyond recognition.

As soon as the blood was cleaned up and the house look as if he left in a hurry and the failed attempt to move the body by herself, she turned to see Eliya by the window. She hadn't thought about keeping a look out or anything of the sorts. She was more concerned about getting the task done. She was rushing herself and trying to make it seem as if there was no foul play that had occurred here. But when Eliya spoke to her Coraline hurried up her task. The chair, another small thing she looked over. She looked at the head rest and down the wooden backrest to see a small stream of blood. If it were a legionnaire then it would mean they had to time to waist. She used her glove to clean up the stain and make it look as clean as she could quickly. Even though she was quite proud of how she make it look clean she wished she had a little more time to spot clean it.

Taking her gloves off, she placed them in her pouch and listened again to what Eliya had said. They only had a short window of time before the guard would be here. She watched as the body levitated itself, a telekinesis spell. Coraline envied Eliya's skill and branched ability in Mysticism. lt would be only a short time till she was able to cast such things, but for now she was glad she had another mage accompanying her on this. Their team work seemed to be making short work of this job. She wanted to smile but knew she didn't have time to embellish herself with such luxuries. She followed the two out the front door and closed it behind her, carrying everything she could. It was too much for her to make a long journey with but could make it a just barely outside of the towns reach before collapsing on herself. Her feet made slow, small strides as she paced herself to remain quite still.

By the time they had gotten safely out of the town and far enough from the guard, or traveler, she didn't really know who it was. But was going to assume the former of the two, she put the sack down that held most of his belongings. She panted heavily as she felt warm from exhaustion. Taking a moment to catch her breath she wished she was a little older or just a little stronger, perhaps smarter so she could use a telekinesis spell herself. Which ever one seemed the best she wished she were it. Her arms felt frail and weak as her legs wobbled slightly, she had to rest or at least get something quick to drink. Though again time was still against her, so, she sucked it up and decided to go on.

The body laid on the ground after Eliya let her telekinesis spell ware off. It was not Coraline's time to act again, she had to choose how to dispose of the body. There were a few different ways to go about this but while she was walking she had her mind set on burning it. ''
Let's just burn it.'' she said disregarding any sort of sacrificial burial rite. ''Though l say we take it a little further from town. The smell might attract unwanted attention.'' lt was at this point Coraline scavenged through the rucksack she had been carrying, to see if anything worth keeping was in it. She wasn't a bit archery fan nor that much of a large weapon keeper either. Most of his belongs were really shoddy and poor kept. She looked over a few of the old books till she found one that caught her eye. lt seemed to be an old Tome that was stolen or created from some sort of mage. She opened the first page it was instructions on a spell. She closed the book after that and put it in her pouch along with her gloves, making sure to examine it further. She would like to fence off these goods but didn't really have the time or energy to carry them to Leyawiin. So, she just rested it down underneath a small ravine that was underneath a large bush hoping some sort of scavenger or hunter wouldn't discover it and just pass by it.

Taking hold of one of the man's legs she started to drag it further into the forest till she felt as if it were safe enough to start kindling a fire from his corpse. When she looked around and only heard the sounds of leaves and an owl in the distance, she knew she was in the clear. She placed her palm on his chest and cast a small flame spell to ignite him. Flame Touch a simple novice spell was enough to start the fire. His clothes caught fire and soon his chest was smoldering with fire. She placed her hand on his head and cast it again, making sure that his facial features would be long gone before anyone discovered him. ''
This is where we depart, right?'' she asked as the smell of burning flesh caught her nostrils. She wanted to take a bath and clean herself off. This whole day had been exhausting and warm water seemed comforting.

Eliya ~

The mage assassin nodded approvingly when Coraline suggested they burn the body, but first move farther from the village. This younger elf had a smart head on her shoulders. The two women dragged the body a goodly distance further, until the recruit decided it was appropriate. Eliya stood back and watched as the Dark Brotherhood's newest member completed her task. Flames shot from her hand to the body and quickly the clothing caught fire.

Eliya gazed stoically at the flames as they ate up the corpse, the disgusting smell of burning flesh causing her to wrinkle her nose. In response to Coraline's query, she nodded, still gazing at the flames. "Yes, our task is complete." Abruptly she turned her gaze to the younger Altmer. "You did good today." A pause. " I see potential in you. You can relax knowing I will take a positive report of your actions back to the Sanctuary."She smiled. "I'm sure that in no time they will have a job for you. Walk with Sithis, sister. I'm sure our paths will soon meet again." With that Eliya bowed her head slightly and then turned and walked towards where she'd tethered her horse. As she was walking she remembered the ring that she'd slipped off the dead man's finger. She studied it as she walked, and finally decided she'd have to at a later point get it appraised. Unbeknownst to her it was a ring of frost shield.

It took some time but the women found their horses and went their separate ways. Little did they know that merely weeks later their paths would cross again....
