Fun crouched in a deep shadow he had found in the dance hall. He rested there, secluded and alone. But he was not alone. He was never alone. The Darkness rested in the back of his head like a song that gets stuck and won't budge. He looked about him. His darklings where gathered all around, watching him with malicious reverence. He would wait for nightfall. He had missed his mark, but he had time. Hers was running out.

A darkling dropped from the corner of the room and whispered in Fun's ear. His eyes flashed open and he stood up.

"Time to hunt."

He disappeared and moved through the shadows, heading for the Forest of the Dead City.
