Personality
❀ [ Aristocratic ] Born to both parents serving the Legion and Emperor Miàoyīn was brought up on a few very specific standards and with a certain education, nurtured to believe that after the first step to becoming a perfect Lunarian, which was obedience and humility, the next was etiquette. "Behaviour is the one mark by which all existence is judged and the standard by which quality is measured." As such Miàoyīn comes off as serene and almost apathetic at all times and towards any and all people -ranging from family members, to friends to complete strangers- regardless of his actual mood. He also appears to be extremely calm, even while faced with predicaments and challenges, choosing to think first before acting. It is often that his behaviour comes off and is misinterpreted as painfully indifferent, even arrogant, however he might mean it. Due to his aristocratic behavior and firm upbringing he is also a firm believer of what can be summed up as 'law and order' and will tolerate no disruption of it. When alone, or in the presence of people that might not misunderstand him in any sense, he might be slightly more loose when it comes to his behaviour, becoming somewhat more receptive and open. ❀ [ Perceptive ] As a matter of fact, Miàoyīn is quite the perceptive young man; having a keen eye for others and a very clear, very solid view of both himself as well as his limits, he is shown to be able to most often easily assess the outcome of a battle when he is pitched off against someone or watches others fight. The fact he is most often able to know when he's at disadvantage doesn't necessarily entail cowardice, however. Because of his stubborn, single-minded commitment to serving and following orders Miàoyīn is bound to sit out his battles even if he has no chance of winning. In his everyday life, apart from training, he is shown to be just as capable in reading people and figuring out situations ranging from simple to convoluted. ❀ [ Intolerant ] Because of his beliefs on right and wrong and as a direct result of his aristocratic behavior he is highly intolerant of the views of others and believes, beyond a shadow of doubt, that people would do better to listen instead of persisting in their own selfish ways. The problem with that point of view is that... not only does he believe that but he will try to enforce that by all means; even if that means having to force or hurt people that are close to him. Furthermore he often shows disdain at people he deems overconfident in their abilities or boasting about their exploits. ❀ [ Comedic ] Because of his overall personality people tend to pass Miàoyīn as, perhaps, the most icy individual to have ever walked the land. Surprisingly, sticking around long enough without disrupting his taste for the law and peacekeeping will bring to light a completely unexpected humorous side. His subtle jokes are often delivered with his usual straight face and are often bypassed without people realizing they were jokes at all, but after assessment often leave people stunned and wondering. Slightly ironic remarks aren't strangers to him but he usually avoids them.
Hobbies
❀ [ Reading ] Having learned to appreciate the company of books ever since rather early on, Miàoyīn is a literal bookworm. He will read anything as long as it's paper -or another surface- with any sort of print layed down upon it. He enjoys all sorts of prose as well as poetry, having a particular fondness for history as well as all sorts of heroic tales. ❀ [ Singing ] Unbeknownst to most Miào has a beautiful singing voice even though he rarely makes a display of it in front of strangers. It is most usual to find him singing during the most quiet hours of the day like at daybreak or early evening while he has nothing else to do and nothing to attend to. He has taken to teaching various songs to his little friend, Yúhuá, also.

History:
Miàoyīn was born as an accident, a trick of fate, perhaps? Either way, this doesn't mean that he wasn't well-received or loved by his parents while growing up, on the contrary, even. His mother, Xìfēng, was an understanding young woman who had married out of love to her husband and together they had raised him at their home teaching him all those things their own parents had taught them in order to bring him up as a good and noble-minded Lunarian. The sad downside to this all was that the more he grew up the longer he missed his parents as they were both busy being part of the Legion.
It was during that time that he started to learn how to do housework, and appreciate the company of books and animals. Miàoyīn had always appreciated life, even before his lonelier times, but he found it to be a most soothing thing at the time. Animals weren't as easy as people to leave one's side and even when they did they were most often fast to return. They didn't betray if you didn't betray them and you could talk to them for hours and they would just listen. One couldn't, of course, talk to books, but they had a way to speak in a different way than animals. Written word was something extraordinary at the time, at least for Miàoyīn himself. Books could take him anywhere in a matter of seconds, transport him anywhere, teach him things he couldn't have even imagined. And he relished in that knowledge. It was like constantly having company even when he was all alone.
As far as housework was concerned he was, perhaps, the most meticulous Lunarian one could come across. Nothing was too boring for him, or too hard, or too humiliating. Cooking, cleaning, sweeping, mopping floors, climbing high and low in the grand chase of elusive dust... nothing could escape his sight; and none could claim that it wasn't good exercise! On the contrary... if he kept that kind of 'training' up he'd almost never have any other need for different kinds of it. Or... not.
In any case, his early teens comprised mostly of those kind of simple activities. His father, Fēndòng, started teaching him basic uses of weaponry shortly after he turned thirteen whenever he was home, and being the good son Miàoyīn had always strived to master whatever his father would offer as additional training. As for sides... he didn't really have to wonder which way he'd go. He was raised to believe in certain values, a certain code. He had no need, no reason to trouble himself by choosing when he had always known he belonged at the side of his parents, allied with the Legion.
It wasn't until recently that Miàoyīn met his 'partner in crime', Yúhuá. Said partner wasn't some kind of person like most people would imagine, even if he did fill the role of a good friend fairly well. No, Yúhuá was a bird, a songbird to be exact, belonging in the family of finches. Their meeting could be described as quite dramatic, but, in the span of a few words, Miàoyīn more or less saved him from a cat and nurtured his broken wing back to health. He then set him free, but apparently, the small bird had grown attached enough that it returned, determined to stick to him despite Miàoyīn's tries to convince him to go. That particular behaviour of his also earned him his name, Miàoyīn naming him for happiness, and his magnificent demeanor. Nowadays he claims that he can tell Yúhuá out of a thousand and recognize his call anywhere.

Allegiance: Legion
Reason: Born to a family that has been serving the Emperor for countless generations Miàoyīn didn't have to trouble himself very much with the side that he wanted, or rather had to join. Brought up following a very strict code and honouring the values passed down to him from his parents Miào strongly believes in law and order and views the Nobles' as selfish and arrogant folk that only seek to disturb peace.
Assets: Loyal beyond comprehension, stubborn beyond belief and determined to uphold the law and order as well as serve the emperor Miàoyīn is a force to be reckoned with. Unaffraid and unfazed by even the most drastic of actions he approaches everything in a very calm, level-headed manner even if the odds are against him. He holds nothing back while fighting even the most fearsome of opponents and will honour his family name through and through with every action he takes on the battlefield.
Path: Warrior
Weapon Type: Nihonto (Japanese Sword)
Weapon: ███Fighter: Bokutō ███Captain: Katana ███Tenryujin: A daishō of a matching Katana and Wakizashi
Weapon Name: Sakurabiyori [ 桜日和 ] Sakura Weather
Battle Style: Possessing little physical strength Miàoyīn relies to the disciplined application of sudden-death techniques if not carefully chosen kata for longer lasting battles. Originally, Miào is an Iaidō/Iaijutsu specialist but has been practicing all forms of Kenjutsu since early on. In general he is very dangerous at close quarters as long as he's armed and his well polished assaults can rain quite the heavy damage on his opponents. His weakness lies in his disability to counter brute force directly as well as his relatively low endurance that calls for fast-paced, quickly finished battles.
