*a friend is doing some research, and you may see this in a few different places, so sorry for any cross-postings*
I always love hearing people's ideas on this issue.
How do you define witchcraft? What beliefs do you think all witches share? What practices do you think all witches share? How does one know when or if one is a witch? What was the first time you really felt like a witch?
Please share your ideas, don't be shy! All responses are interesting.
edit...
additionally -
Are there any witchcraft related topics, that you are interested in, that you don't feel have been properly covered by any of the books that you've read (or websites, etc...)?
What specific practices do you consider to be "witchcraft"?

How do you define witchcraft? I define witchcraft as the art of influencing reality through magical means.
What beliefs do you think all witches share? I think all witches believe there is a higher power than themselves. I would also say nearly all have a reverence for the natural world in some form.
What practices do you think all witches share? (this is problematic every time I think of one I suddenly come up with the exceptions to the rule. So I am forced to give an extremely ambiguous answer) Some form of magic sweatdrop .
How does one know when or if one is a witch? when one can use magic without feeling shades of "is this even possible" in their heads.
What was the first time you felt like a witch? When I felt the energy I was using to heal my dog.
Witchcraft related topics I feel could be more covered in texts I know there are probably books devoted to this but divine correspondence (like what gemstones appeal to Hephaestus, or what incense Bast prefers, for example)
Some specific practices I consider witchcraft Divination, the act of using tools or processes to discern previously unknown information. Energy Manipulation Circle Casting ( I say some because If asked there are probably hundreds if not thousands of practices that I can't think of now that would be considered witchcraft by me).

How do you define witchcraft? Shifting energies in the natural world to produce a desired change. What beliefs do you think all witches share? That magic is a force of nature. What practices do you think all witches share? I think all witches, to some extent shift energy (in some way). How does one know when or if one is a witch? If they perform witchcraft knowingly. What was the first time you really felt like a witch? I can't honestly remember. It may have been the first time that I cured my friend's headache by tracing a rune on her forehead, or it could have been the first time I did an extremely accurate reading.

How do you define witchcraft? Using natural magick to make a change you desire.
What beliefs do you think all witches share? That magick should be used for good. There is no devil in magick.
What practices do you think all witches share? I think all witches can read auras and feel emotions. I also think all witches have there own special talent in the craft.
How does one know when or if one is a witch? If and when they use witchcraft purposely or accidently.
What was the first time you really felt like a witch? I have always know I was a witch, being one from birth, because my mother was one but I think the first time I actually used magick was when I was 5. I was in my garden and I felt someone at the door before they got there.
