Laughing quietly, she stretched her leg out further to let him have at it, mumbling tiredly. "Nice to meet you Lance.."
Inching closer to him, she nodded her head slowly, squirming around to get a little more comfortable before curling her tail up against him, yawning again.
"You keep at it.. I'll see you when I wake up." With her afternoon nap long overdue, it didn't take her long to promptly fall into a deep sleep.

Lance fell asleep, mid-lick. It was not long after Sparkles fell under sleep's spell either that he, too, began to slumber.
It was wonderfully warm, as his fur began to dry. Warm and peaceful, there by the lake. The trees nearby quietly rustled beyond the grass, birds were chirping but not obnoxiously so. Serene, Lance would say. A beautiful place to take a nap.
But when he was awoken, abruptly at that, it was by a buzzing, flying insect. The creature fluttered its wings all around Lance's ears, fluttering in and out of the tuft of fur on the top of his head. And it was enough for it to awaken him... and he was not, at all, pleased.
The white feline-like pony shot up from his stretched out position and was immediately on guard -- bright, wide, almost fully-pupil eyes darted about for the winged beast. He spotted it a few feet away, tempting him.. mocking him.
So Lance bolted for it -- right over top of Sparkles -- trampling her under his hooves in an attempt to get the buggy. But instead, he simply pounced on top of her instead, far too short to get the insect.

Going wide eyed as she was so rudely woken up from her nap, she was a bit confused at first as to what was happening and then a sharp pain went through her tail as it was stepped on by a hoof.
"What the h--" She was cut off mid sentence when Lance suddenly dove on top of her, knocking the wind out of her for a moment before she started to squirm around, trying to get away.
"I can't moooovvveeee!!!!"
Trying to push up against him to knock him off, she finally got to tired and just gave up, laying there while taking in a few deep breaths. "You..are heavy."

Lance didn't get the bug, unfortunately, but he did seem to capture something! He blinked several times and peeked down at Sparkles underneath him. A bit startled that she was even there, at first, but slowly gaining a mischievous grin on the end of his muzzle the longer he looked.
An idea popped into his head and suddenly, Lance forgot completely about the buzzing insect that woke him up. And instead, practically dove on top of the pink mare -- kicking at her playfully with only his back legs and mewling happily.
"Did you have a good nap!?" he managed to get out before squirming around her himself.

"I was having a good nap, yes!" She laughed quietly, trying to bat him away with her hooves before finally managing to drag herself a few feet away from him, regaining her composure.
Craning her head back slightly to pick a few blades of grass from her fur, she chewed on them absently before mumbling.
"What the heck were you doing anyway? Trying to give me a heart attack??" Staring at him with wide eyes, she continued to chew on the grass before leaning down to take a good mouthful of it.
"Because if so.. you were somewhat successful."

Was Lance trying to scare her? No, not exactly! He wasn't fully sure what his intent was, to be honest. To play, he supposed. It seemed an appropriate enough response, at least.
"Just trying to make sure you were completely awake."
Or that!
Slowly, he stood up and arched his back to stretch. Front hooves slid against the grass while the fur along his spine stiffened all the way to his tail -- and that appendage went stick straight for a moment before smoothing out and swishing back and forth lazily.
Lance loved his tail. He took great pride in its exceptional fluffiness, and the fact that it was always beautifully and perfectly white, and he figured it to be his most attractive attribute. Well, next to his striking green eyes, of course. But his tail was long and lovely, and to his surprise as he took a glance back towards it, it was also mostly clean even for having taken a dip in the lake.
As he peered at his tail, wiggling the tip of it a little bit back at himself, he spoke up again to Sparkles while she ate. "You have a nice tail. Yours almost rivals mine."

Looking at his tail, she peered back to observe her own, shrugging her shoulders slightly before yawning and falling back against the grass onto her side.
"Almost.. not quite as poofy as your's, but I like it."
She curled her tail up around around herself, snuggling into it before closing her eyes again, the sun was just starting to go down and perhaps it was a good time to head back to her pasture but she just couldn't muster up the energy.
"I am totally awake, especially after what you just did.. Just very, very comfortable." She smiled up at him with a slight nod of her head.

Was... was she going back to sleep? Lance was all for spending the day, lazing around and napping off and on, but they'd just woken up! Even if dusk seemed to be approaching, it definitely wasn't time to nap again.
"Night makes you sleepy?" he asked, curiously, while stepping over to peer down at Sparkles. Clearly, Lance did not believe her statement of being fully awake. "Night always makes me feel more awake."
And just to prove his point, Lance pranced around Sparkles in a semi-circle, stopping at her back. Then raising a front hoof again, he pawed a little at one of her ears before bending down to n** and tug on it. He meowled, in his own pony way, before turning right around and taking off like a little white, vaguely pony-shaped blur in the opposite direction, heading for the thicker grasses by a line of trees behind them.
