 Work, work, and more work. It had been one of those kinds of days. Too busy to breathe or think or do more than react to the situations. Nothing bad, just busy. Melody and Nostalgia both were tired of the stalls. But Nostalgia wanted her exercise, and time with her Chosen, so Melody rode the mare out to a more secluded area, under a willow tree and by a lake. It wasn't too far from the bustle of the horse ranch, but it was her spot, beyond the fence that kept the normal horses in. Peaceful. Sort of. Nostalgia had a world to say. "....and I'm telling you, I really don't like that stallion. I don't think he has good breeding, Melody. It is better for you to sale him. He's pretentious and prideful and an all-around coward and completely not a gentleman. You'll never tame him, he's not for a young lady such as yourself!" "Stalya, I have more experience than you've had years to live. I think I know what I'm doing. If you don't like him so much, why don't you stay away?" Melody shook her head with a slight smile. She didn't know why Nostalgia insisted on hanging out with the horses outside of the work they had to do, they generally only frustrated her. She couldn't even begin to imagine a comparison... Maybe like a human trying to get along with a bunch of apes? "Oh, no, then how would I know what he was up to?""You shameless gossip!" Melody laughed, "And why do you--- Hmm?" Melody sat up, looking to a point. Was someone there? Nostalgia looked up too, and snorted. It was probably one of the naughty horses, gotten out. She'd have to corral them back into the stalls. Because it was just that sort of day! "Yes, who's there?" She took some steps forward.

 Jondayla and Aila were out on a leisure ride, since they had been separated for a long while, due to Aila's job as a traveling gypsy, and her determination to not take Jonda everywhere with her. It wasn't long before they came upon a luxurious looking lake where Jonda decided he wanted to soak in the water with Aila. "Let's stop here awhile, Aila. Its so peaceful and nice here. I would like to bath, so my white coat isn't brown." Jonda said as he turned his sky blue eyes upon the brown haired girl with her milky honey colored eyes. Aila chuckled as she slipped off of Jondayla's back and led him the rest of the way to the water, making sure there weren't any other azrein around for his shy sake. "You know, Jonda.. You really need to lighten up. make some new friends." She teased the panda colored boy as they both stepped into the shallow, clear and cool water. "I have friends. Michiko, Daria, and Damir are perfectly fine friends for me." Jondayla snorted indignantly as he dipped his nose into the blue water and took a drink that seemed to clear his dusty throat. He closed his eyes in bliss as he lifted his head up and let the small breeze lift his black mane.

Apparently her query had gone unnoticed, but neither Nostalgia nor Melody missed the stallion and girl as they came up. Nostalgia paused a moment, looking uncertainly back at Melody. She knew it'd been a very long day, and that her Chosen might not be up for socializing. Melody put her head down a moment, then looked up and offered a nod and smile. Deny Nostalgia a chance to shout howdy to someone? Never. Nostalgia came out from under the tree walking nearer to the strangers, though they were still some distance away. "Good evening! How's the water? May I join you?"Melody sighed, then shook herself. She'd be sociable and friendly, and she'd enjoy this or else! Private lecture given, she stood and walked behind Nostalgia. She offered a smile and wave.

Jonda jolted at the sound of someone's voice. His eyes opened wide as he reared, whinnied frantically, and took off, splashing Aila as he went and disappearing into a line of trees just a little ways off. Aila's face went cross as she held her arms up from her now sopping wet clothes and got out of the water, trying to ring herself as she did so.
After she had gotten some of the water out Aila looked up at the duo and gave a small smile. "Hello there. Sorry about that. Jonda can be shy and jumpy. I'm Aila." She offered her hand to the girl and smiled at the pretty colored female azrein.
She then turned towards where Jonda had disappeared. Jonda! Get your panda booty out here and apologize and say hello!!! She hollered at her chosen. To anyone else it would seem she was being cross with the shy male, but Jonda knew it was just her way of trying to get him out of his shell.
Jonda peeked his head out of the trees and eyed the others cautiously. "Are they safe?" He called out meekly before ducking his head and coming up behind Aila, keeping his light colored eyes on the others warily.

"What is it, what is it? What's wrong!" Because she wasn't in the water, whatever horrible thing that was surely attacking the stallion wasn't going to harm her. So Nostalgia settled for crying out her wonderfully helpful words, stepping side to side and eyes roving from the water to the running horse and back and to again. Melody was less frantic. She took the whole scene in, and considered Aila's reaction. "Hello there. Sorry about that. Jonda can be shy and jumpy. I'm Aila." She offered her hand to the girl and smiled at the pretty colored female azrein. Then burst into laughter. She took a few moments to compose herself before accepting Aila's handshake. "I'm so sorry! My name is Melody, and this is Stalya.""Nostalgia called Stalya." Nostalgia answered, a little tensely for Melody's laughter and Aila's harsh sounding words. She raised her voice so the male azrein could hear. "We are safe, and this is our familiar place, so I can tell you with full assurance that this place is also very safe!" Too curious to stay back, Nostalgia trotted forward to meet this new individual. "Is the water good for swimming today?" "I've not seen you around, you're not from here, are you?"

Aila chuckled as she turned and placed her hand on the underside of the black and white stallion's chin, rubbing circles on the side in a soothing manner.
Jonda shifted his eyes uneasily but eventually looked up at the female azrein and studied. She was attractive, if you were into the whole.. female thing, which Jondayla certainly wasn't, but still, he could appreciate her beauty. "The water is lovely, Stayla. I am Jondayla and its a pleasure to meet you." Jonda said, shifting his light blue eyes to Aila to make sure she still considered it safe. "I apologize about my... outburst.. I.. well.. I tend to be frightened by my own shadow at times.." He said with a shy horse smile. Perhaps this could be the friend that Aila was constantly nagging him to get?
Aila giggled as she leaned against Jonda's neck. "No, we come from the south west, by the Unthal Mountains. I have a little house there, and Jonda usually stays in a glen he and a couple other azrein found. Its very peaceful there. But Jonda and I decided to go exploring a little and perhaps go as far north as possible. Just to say we did." Aila explained.
She felt Jonda shift his weight on his hooves, to lean into Aila, just enough to put a bit of pressure on her. It was a small gesture they had sort of gotten into doing for comfort. Aila's gave a soft smile to Jonda before turning back to the other two.

"Oh, well.... I guess so long as it's your own shadow!" Nostalgia chuckled a bit, then wandered to the tops of her hooves into the water. She stomped down once, just to get a good starting splash. "There's lots of shadows in the water. I think they are funny to watch. Especially when the water gets to jiggling!"
"That sounds like a worthwhile goal. It's been a long time since I've traveled, and Nostalgia's never done it. She thinks the whole world revolves around our ranch and city. I don't know what she'd do with the mountains! I suspect she hasn't a worthwhile gait for any sort of incline." Melody shook her head, imagining the umpteen million questions Nostalgia might ask if they were to travel outwards any place, and also getting a pinprick of an idea that it was something they ought to give a go sometime. Maybe if she found someone to take her place at the ranch some time.
"...and Melody won't do it, but if you open your eyes while you're under water, then it's really cool! It looks the the world is jiggling! Do you wanna try?" Nostalgia brought her head down low to the water, getting the lower half of her mane wet in doing so.
.... Then again, Melody thought, there were plenty of amusements to be had right here.
