I have 2 aspects to my body dysphoria- one is build and the other is gender. I'm on the board of directors for a local charity and I had to attend their end of summer fundraiser- which is a fancy dinner party and auction. I'm not out to the people at the charity- I don't think they'd care, but I just don't want any unwanted attention or for them to slip to someone else who knows me.
I had to wear a dress and every time someone complemented me on how "pretty" I looked a little part inside me wanted to claw at my skin and die, so I wasn't very good company.
So now I feel like s**t and nothing seems to be helping. I slept so much today because I was just drained. sweatdrop

DoctorButler Pics so we can compliment you. The complements don't make it better- because I'm 3rd and I was dressed as a girl. sweatdrop

DoctorButler 3rd? I'm sorry. Could you elaborate? I'm not a girl or a boy- I'm something else, so having to dress as a girl freaks me out.

I am sorry that you were put into a situation that made you uncomfortable, that is never fun.
All I can say is next time, try some gender neutral formal attire. Maybe some nice slacks, a fitted button up shirt and a blazer. For hair just wear it smoothed back if short, or in a low bun if long. I have seen both men and woman alike pull of the look, and it will most likely get compliments such as "sharp" and "well dressed" instead of "pretty" or "beautiful".
