I thought this would be a fun thread to make.

Here are some supplies and pieces of equipment that I believe that every Environmental Geologist/Environmental Scientist should have. Please feel free to add to the list!

Supplies/Equipment:

-Hiking Boots
- Fishing Vest
-Hunting/utility knife
-Compass
-Maps (contour, topograpgy,ect)
-GPS
-Scientific Calculator
-Ruler
-Bug Spray, Skin So Soft, Dryer Sheets, or matchesticks
-Waders/Creek walking boots
-Rope
-Water Bottle
-Geology Hammer
-Hand Lens
-Geology/Environmental Science books
-Chisels
-Crack Hammer
-Notebooks
-Pens and Markers
-Flow meter
-First Aid Kit

I really don't build fires when I am out doing field work.

I do build a lot of fires if I am camping for a weekend. I am always super careful to make sure the fires are under control and that I have a couple of gallons of water. A green extinguisher might be something I look into now. 3nodding

Tip for anyone who cares:
If you coat the tips of the matches in candle wax, it prevents them from being ruined by water. When you are ready to use them, the wax rubs right off.

That's a very good tip!

I use matches as a form of bug repellent. If you eat the head of the match it stops insects from biting you.

Also, if you rub a dryer sheet or Skin So Soft on you arms, legs, and neck, bugs stop biting you as well.
